A: The is designed to give a CD level quality experience to people looking to play lossless or reduced compression audio. This portable device is available to create an audio signal compatible to a mid-grade to high end stereo system. The price is a reflection of the unique value that is being offered. I could see this being used as a form of media sever for a stereo as well as a portable device used with studio headphones. If you are interested in something to just store mp3 files for playback consider a cheap no name mp3 player or smart phone. Most people who would really benefit from this would already own expensive stereo equipment and headphones as well as an audio library in say CDs. I do agree the price feels a bit high, but I would struggle to find something on the market cheaper offering what this has.
