Great Speaker!!
MJHeye Posted
6 stars should be possible for this item. I've owned 50+ Bluetooth speakers of various brands and sizes. i got sick of mediocre sound and sound quality. i walked into bestbuy looking to get a laptop for music software and a ridiculous speaker to enjoy it on. if i want to play something way too loud and have it still sound great, then i turn this to about halfway. bass cuts through walls, there's no distortion. it's just a well designed speaker. i recently moved and tried something interesting out. throw this bad boy in the back of a box truck if you're looking for some big sound. but be warned, they will come asking to see your noise permit. great buy. nice job Sony.

Wanted a JBL Partybox, so I got this instead
Hector Posted
Of course its a "portable" bluetooth speaker and not a serious home setup but its still pretty awesome and easily the best BT speaker I ever had. It has too much volume for my apartment so I have it at half volume most of the time and had it playing for ~3 hours with Ult mode 1 and battery only went down by ~10%-15% without the lights, honestly pretty good for how loud it is. Many online say the bass on this is lacking and I disagree, they havent listened to this in real life, sometimes its too much with Ult 1 and thats not to say it sounds bad because its not, everything is crisp and clear without hurting your ears like low quality speakers do. If you know you're a basshead then sure go for a JBL Partybox. Otherwise, if you like listening to many different genres especially ones with a preference for vocals like in Regional Mexican music, then this is just easily the superior pick in my opinion. I recommend this and even more if its on discount. I drove to another city and got mine Open Box for 620 and was literally brand new. Big thumbs up

Look No Further for Your Party Music!

I absolutely love this music tower. It delivers powerful sound with mega bass that you can truly feel. The 360° Party Sound fills the entire space evenly, making it feel like a live concert no matter where you’re standing, and the 360° Party Lights add an exciting atmosphere that instantly elevates any gathering. The bass is deep and punchy without overpowering the music, and the sound pressure stays strong even at higher volumes. With up to 25 hours of battery life, it lasts all day and night, and the carrying handle and castors make it easy to move anywhere. The karaoke and guitar inputs are a huge bonus and make it perfect for parties, family events, or casual jam sessions. This speaker is fun, loud, and versatile, a true party essential.

Sony ULT Tower 9 short review
TheAscendedTechNinja Posted
The Sony Ult Tower 9 surprisingly impressed me after hearing the bass didn't go that deep but most people use it in ULT Mode 2 which is just upper bass with a brighter sound signature. With the Ult mode off this speaker still sounds pretty open with the 4 tweeters and 2 midrange drivers for a widespread but forward sound with the 12.5 inch woofer delivering enough bass to know you listen to a big speaker but not that much of a impressive speaker until you turn on ult mode 1 so whatever room you bring this speaker you will experience a strong 50Hz to punch to feel the vibrations in the air from the bass and the air thelar has enough low end extention to get that 35Hz movie theater experience while bass up to 65 Hz is still very solid. since this version does come with a battery it is very nice to roll from room to room but carrying this speaker outside sucks. Battery life is decent you can get about 3 and a half hours with the volume on 45% but I haven't preformed a real stamina test yet. It sounds a lot more open than the JBL Partybox 520 but the 520 is much better suited to be on the go and deliver much stronger low, sub bass but then again it can distort a lil while the Sony keeps its composure except for rapidly turning the volume up or down then youll here pops. So I can recommend this speaker as a large indoor party speaker with great sound and a lovely light show

Best Speaker I own!!
MICHAELV Posted
I own multiple Sony ULT speakers, the 3, 5, and 7, but this Tower 9 blew me away! The clarity and the bass are amazing! I usually runny it in ULT 1, I like the deeper bass sound as opposed to ULT 2’s punchy bass, but it’s a personal preference. Definitely worth the money!

WOW!!!! I mean WOW!!!! The bass on this tower is AMAZING. I can only imagine what it is going to sound like when I pair it to a 2nd one. I love how portable it is, the app is works as advertised. Using the optical cable connected to my tv...WOW, forget going to the theater. It looks small in the pic, but that is an 85" tv, pic does not do it justice.

Sony Ult 9 tower is Ultimate speaker 2Me
KennK Posted
I read and watch videos and read some more about the Sony ult 9 tower to make sure that I was getting the speaker I really wanted especially for my ears and the way I like music to hit. I also read up on the JBL 720 and 520. Everybody says the JBL hits harder and has better Bass but after getting the Sony i don't think so plus the Sony has way better mid-range and doesn't sound so Brassy. The sunny is very well balanced but it hits hard too and I mean hard even if I don't use the ult button it still hits hard but if you need that extra hard hit ult 1 or ult 2 will give it to you. Sony thank you job well done can't wait for the follow-up please add USB C and what would put it over the top is be the first one to give us a remote oh one last thing if you can make the volume increments a little bit more meaning more choices between the levels that you have now that would also make it the bomb! I definitely buy another one if they added those features

Thank you for the fantastic review, KennK!
We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you did your research and chose the SRS-ULT900 tower, and that it perfectly delivers the sound profile you enjoy! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you find the sound very well balanced with way better mid-range compared to competitors.
We designed the ULT POWER SOUND series to deliver hard-hitting, powerful bass, and we are delighted to hear you agree—even without using the ULT button! We appreciate you confirming that ULT 1 or ULT 2 gives you that perfect extra punch when you need it.
We also appreciate your extremely valuable feedback on potential enhancements for the follow-up model.
This type of specific feedback is instrumental to our engineering teams as they develop future generations of the ULT series.
Thank you again for making Sony a part of your music experience and for your strong recommendation!

10 Stars! A Speaker That Truly Delivers
MorrisK Posted
10 Stars! A Speaker That Truly Delivers I absolutely love this speaker! The sound quality is phenomenal—so much so that I’m already planning to buy another one to gift a friend in Africa. It’s that good. When I returned to Best Buy to pick up my iPad A6, one of the staff members asked how I liked the speaker. I told him it was amazing—actually, I said, “It’s a blast!” and his reaction said it all. Before purchasing, I asked the store manager which he’d choose between the XP700 and the ULT Power 9. He smiled and said, “Why would you go for something less?” We both laughed, and I knew I was making the right choice. This speaker has exceeded all my expectations. It’s powerful, clear, and perfect for any celebration. If you’re thinking about it—don’t hesitate. Treat yourself to a blast this New Year 2026. You won’t regret it!

Best Speaker Hands DOWN

It's got superior bass, amazing sound quality, and it lasts for a very long time even with the party lights going on. I use it for my gaming ambience, streams for music, and just vibing out after a long day at work. You can hear practically everything from your songs or movies. It honestly sounds like you brought the cinemas to your house! It's huge, too. Heavy but comes with wheels in case you wanna roll it out somewhere else. I think Sony has the best sound quality out of other speaker brands, no questions asked!
