This music player is a great piece. Is stylish and mini as well. The only thing is about this item is the fact of what you have to do to put music on it. I have had this for a long time and I still have not figured how to put music on. But I know is not the company's fault is mine. Any way great product though and lives' up to the Sony tittle as well as being cool.

This is my second Sony, happy, both with the overall quality, and price. Plus, software fine as well. This unit works well, sound quality is good, but, this product is not an iPod. But, the Sony costs less than half the iPod Nano (think up to 7th generation). I have and use an iPod, for now, but off on a trip, need a backup, and the Sony a great choice for this. You do get what you pay for though, my last Sony lasted just over 2 years (used almost every day at the gym), worked fine, sounded fine, though had hoped it might last longer. The way it goes these days.

I have been using my Walkman MP3 for a few months now. Sound quality is incredible. Battery life is far better than expected. I could never fill the memory. Very easy to navigate. Highly recommend this player.

I purchased this MP3 player specifically for the purpose of listening to audio books while I run or exercise in a gym so that I can learn something new from other people’s wisdom rather than just keeping the adrenaline level high by listening to an energizing music. Therefore my review will be necessarily skewed toward this aspect of the device. It is really hard to find a good audiobook player that could endure the stress of being actively used. I had used a number of other MP3 players with varying levels of satisfaction. So far Sony Walkman is the best audiobook player that I was able to find. It has a large color screen that clearly shows the track number, book title, etc. to effortlessly track the progress of listening and selection of the audiobooks. I bought a 4 GB version that holds a half dozen of audio books. The other great feature of Sony Walkman is a correctly positioned lock switch on the side of the device away from other buttons so that they won’t be accidentally pressed when my actual intention is to lock the device. The buttons are large, and are easy to use for my clumsy fingers. The only really annoying feature of this device is super slow fast forward. Someone who purchased this device to listen to music would probably never need this function. But for an audiobook listener fast-forward is a must feature. It is easy to accidentally push a wrong button in the heat of exercise and lose the played record. When listening to an audiobook you would want to quickly recover the last played point. Using fast-forward or fast-backward button is the way to do it. With Sony Walkman, it takes an eternity to fast-forward a track to a middle of the record or especially to the point near the end. This may take 15 min to get into the right place for a track that is 1 hour long. Can you imagine to stop in a middle of a run for 15 min just to return the player to the right spot. Very annoying. However, other audiobook players have even more critical issues. I like my Sony Walkman for those things that it does the best, as I previously mentioned. Therefore, it is my best buddy in the gym!

I have tried other brands with little success. This is my third Sony , but the first of this model . It seems to work easier than the previous model but is all plastic. Probably won't make much difference , but just doesn't feel like a $70 mp3. I sound like I wish I would have purchased something else , but I really believe it's the best out there.

I had a prior model of this player and really liked it. When I lost it I tried a cheaper player. It was half the size and junky. The worst thing about it was that I had to make play lists to play on it. It wouldn't play from folders like the Sony does. This new model of the Sony has the volume switch on the side, which may be good for athletes. But, for me that has it stuck on the dash board to play music in my 47 Ford, the old model with the volume controlled by the front ring was better. But, this new model starts up instantly without the multiple steps required of the old one. I researched a lot of players before buying another Sony and found the Sony to be the very best for the money by far.

Very good MP3 players. Ive been using these for years. They last a few years of heavy use usually, before freezing and glitching out. Holds alot of tracks too. Sounds great.

The product is the similar model to my two older units. I wanted three because when a battery dies one fully charged is always ready, however this unit has proven to be difficult in the area of downloading or identify a playlist properly set up for the unit. If you follow the sony instructions on how to download a playlist which I do numerous time on my other sony units without a problem this one will not. I'm sure I will figure it out but other wise a solid player.

I think my poor reception is due to being partly due to being under ground. I am happy with the product.

ipod nano stopped working - new ipods minimum $250. Bought Walkman for $50. Was very difficult for me to figure out how to transfer music from computer to Walkman, but once I did, with help from google, it was very simple. Use in car thru USB port - sounds good.
