First, I want to mention that I did receive the "Special" variation, which has longer battery life than the standard version. I've had the Sleep A10s and A20s, and these are a fairly nice iteration. ANC works well enough, battery life gets me through the night just fine. My only issue is that they still don't support mapping controls outside of double tap and triple tap on each earbud. I'd like the option to map single taps and long taps (or double/triple long taps if they're worried about accidental activation) to keep controls consistent on these in line with my other earbuds. Also, I was really hoping the case would finally support wireless charging this iteration, but still not a feature. Maybe next time. Overall, they're solid, but feels like they're leaving some easy wins behind.

In general, I have a hard time staying asleep and I've tried different things on the market to help aid with that but I've never tried sleep earbuds. I did some research and found that the Anker Soundcore Sleep A30 Special smart sleep earbuds were highly rated. I thought now is the time to give them a try and see if they could help. Unboxing was quick and painless and these earbuds appear to be of very high quality. There is a smart charging case (has a built in speaker to detect snoring), the earbud units – which are tiny and very light, a USB C charging cable and a plethora of silicone or soft foam ear tips and silicone ear wings. I loved the wide array of options to customize these so that they fit as comfortably as can be in my ear canals. I tried a couple of different size options and eventually found a comfortable combination – or so I thought. These earbuds need the Anker Soundcore app to function properly and I installed it without an issue. Pairing them was quite simple via the app and once paired, the app provided me with a bunch of usage options. The earbuds have built in tap/touch controls that can be customized in the app. I love that these earbuds require a firm double tap to change settings so that these settings can't be accidentally changed while using them throughout the night. They are ANC earbuds that are quite effective at blocking out sound, which can be deactivated if you choose. The Soundcore app has a relationship with Calm which provides the different soundscape options that you can choose from. It's a no brainer that they did this. The app lets you select from 5 different Calm sound categories: 1) Sleep Stories which are narrated calming bedtime stories. 2) Meditations which are guided meditation sessions. 3) Brainwave Audio which are natural sounds with music overlays with the option of adding an additional sound element overlay like a singing bowl or rain sounds. 4) Snore Masking sounds are natural world sounds that are activated if the smart case detects snoring. 4) White Noise are varied thematic sound stages that don't have music overlays. You can even create a custom white noise soundstage within the app. 5) Tinnitus Masking offers tinnitus sufferers relief with a custom set up of soundstages that play at a certain frequency to offset the tinnitus. The app also allows you to select the Listening Mode of choice. That's either with traditional bluetooth or local mode which downloads the sleep program of choice directly into the earbuds themselves. Via the app, you can also select from 3 options of play through after you fall asleep. Each affects the battery life differently. 1) Play Local/ANC off, which automatically plays downloaded sleep programs and turns off the ANC after the earbuds detect you are asleep (not sure how they determine this). 2) Pause Audio will stop playing the sleep program but continue allowing ANC to be active. This was my favorite of the three. 3) Keep Audio keeps playing the sleep program and ANC remains active the entire time. Obviously, this one draws the most battery power and may not last the entire sleep cycle if your earbud batteries are not full. Anker lists the battery life between 6-16 hours depending on playback options. The charging cases supplies an addiotnal 5 nights worth of battery. Importantly, there is an alarm mode that can be set up to wake you and the earbuds also track your sleep and let you know how well you did. Ive never been one to really trust these sleep monitoring/tracking modes. But, it's nice to know that they do this and you can easily pull up the sleep report/history and see how it went. You can even connect this data to Apple Health if you use an Apple product. Lastly, the app also offers product tips and tricks as well as sleep Insights for people who are needing more specific info on the earbuds or on sleeping habits and issues. I was very eager to select a sound program and see how effective these buds could be. After going through all the options, I made a sleep program and it was very effective at calming me down and getting my mind ready for a good nights sleep. Anker says these A30 Special earbuds are good for any sleeping position and I sleep on my side most of the time. I was a little worried about this but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were quite comfortable while I was falling asleep, which was on my side. The issue arose about 2 hours after falling asleep on the first night. My ear canals were sore which woke me up. I fiddled with the earbuds and tried to go back to sleep. About 30 minutes later I gave up and took them out. The next day, I switched out the ear tips and ear wings for a smaller size and gave them a try again that night. Again, they were comfortable falling asleep but in the middle of the night I awoke with the same issue, sore ear canals. The next day I tried switching out the ear tips for a third time but ultimately, the soreness returned. I imagine back sleepers won't run into these issues or may find a solution much easier. Because I sleep about 90% of the time on my side (via the app's sleep report), these earbuds aren't probably going to be a permanent solution. I will try one last time using the smallest earbud tips and see if that makes difference but I don't have high hopes. In the end, they really did help calm my mind and blocked out a ton of noise, which allowed me to fall asleep much easier. I really enjoyed that, truly. They're probably great for back or stomach sleepers, just not for me, as a side sleeper. They are extremely well built and the app provides a ton of effective sleep solutions. Maybe the next version will specifically address the side sleeper issue since they have pretty much solved for all the things needed for a good night's sleep. I'll definetly be on the look out to see.

As a side-sleeper, I never imagined I would find earbuds comfortable enough to sleep with. The fact that I have been able to sleep with these says a lot about their comfort. I have small ears and a really small ear canal, yet Soundcore was able to provide enough size options that I found my perfect fit. *What’s included?* The earbuds come with a plethora of ear tip and wing sizes plus two kinds of ear tips, silicone and foam. It also comes with a charger for the case. *Quality* The case is lightweight but feels high quality and durable. It has an aesthetic design and is larger than most earbud cases, but it is perfect for keeping it on the nightstand and easily finding it at night if needed, plus the case plays a vital role in the earbuds’ functionality. The earbud base is miniscule, and their size varies depending on the attachments you chose for your fit. *Comfort* They are incredibly comfortable with the right tips. It took me some trial and error over several nights to find the best option. I’m a side sleeper and was able to sleep on my side without any discomfort with these. Perhaps the only discomfort I found was that suction feeling I get in my ear canal when I lay on my ear. I had to use the xs wing tip and xxs ear tip. I do find I take them off at some point in the night. *Sleep sounds* I really like the snore masking library. It is filled with options of relaxing audio. I do have issues with some of the audio though, there are some where it is very evident where it restarts the loop and it drives me crazy listening to it. I suggest listening long enough to ensure you like it before trying to sleep with it as was my mistake with two audios on two different nights. That said, it has a lot of options, including brainwave audio, meditations, and even sleep stories. *Sleep tracking * These headphones track your sleep, can tell how much you toss and turn, and can even tell you what time of night you snored. *Noise Cancelation* The anc works well, but there is definitely leak-through noise when people are talking. Personally, I like to be able to hear if someone talks to me in the night in case there is an emergency, so this is fine. It blocks out the majority of noise and muffles sounds adequately enough for me. *App* The Soundcore app contains a lot! It has customizable sounds, can set an alarm, can set bedtime vs sleep audio, a sleep report, auto-stop audio, and so much more. *Battery Life* The earbud battery lasted all night, about 9 hours, and the case has not needed charging since I last charged it several days ago. It is definitely true to their specs. *Conclusion* These earbuds are perfect for anyone who struggles to fall asleep. I normally spin in thoughts but with these, I am able to drift off to sleep so fast. They are also perfect for napping in a loud area.

The Soundcore Sleep A30 Special is one of those products you never realize you needed, until you've tried it. As someone who struggles with insomnia and restless sleep, even the slightest noise can wake me. I was desperate to find something that would help me stay asleep while also blocking out my spouse's incredibly loud snoring. My biggest concern before ordering them was comfortability. I'm a side sleeper naturally, so I assumed sleeping with earbuds would be an issue, but these are easily the most comfortable earbuds I've ever owned. They come with multiple sizes of both silicone and memory foam ear tips, along with different wing attachments to help you find the perfect fit. Surprisingly, the pre-installed tips fit me perfectly, so I never felt the need to swap them out. Their low profile design means there's very little pressure on my ears, even when they're pressed against my pillow. The sound quality is excellent and the Soundcore app includes a huge library of sleep sounds; sleep stories, snore-masking audio, tinnitus-masking sounds, and more. Since I already subscribe to the Calm app, I still find myself connecting via Bluetooth and listening to my favorite Calm sleep melodies most nights, but it's nice knowing there are plenty of built-in options available if I ever want to switch it up. Battery life has been hassle free, as every morning I place the earbuds back in their charging case on my nightstand. That way they're always fully charged and ready for me at bedtime. What has impressed me the most is the noise cancellation. I used to wake up multiple times throughout the night from any amount of noise but now I'm able to sleep no problem. They've made a noticeable difference in both sleep quality and the amount of rest I get, each night. If you're a light sleeper or have a snoring partner, I can't recommend these enough.

Lots to like but I hoped for more. The good: Love the app and especially that the A30 Special has a sleep app included. That app is available for about $9 per month so there is a savings. The sound quality is very good for sleep buds. Volume is lower than earbuds for daytime use, but this is to be expected. Included are a number of ear silicone and memory foam fittings are critical to find a comfortable fit. The case is compact and works well. Disappointments: I’m a side sleeper. While small this still ends up becoming uncomfortable to my ear while sleeping. I’ve done a lot of adjusting and can keep it in for up to three hours but by the time I take them out my ears are sore. I’m continuing to try to get used to them and constantly readjust the placement, but I would not buy again only because of the side sleeping comfort. If you sleep on your back you will probably love them.

Yes yes it does… joking of course, well sort of, it does have decent active noise cancellation, but honestly these are pretty awesome for me especially, since I am a very light sleeper and have trouble getting to sleep, and staying asleep. I really do need consistent noises to help me stay asleep. Sticking with the headphones though, the case is really cool. I couldn’t figure out how to open it at first, but once I got that figured out I was pleasantly surprised. For some reason I really like the slide to open case. Makes me think of the old flip phones. What else I liked was all the stuff that came with it, different tips, and different wings. Making it super easy to find the perfect fit for my Ogre ears! Comfort….well the first night with the silicon tips, not comfortable at all. In the middle of the night I had to remove them. It was hurting too much. The second night, I tried a different size and it still gave me ear fatigue in the middle of the night! At this point I thought this concept was a dud. I switched to the small memory foam tips, and those worked significantly better, so I’m super thankful it came with options. Some things I didn’t enjoy was the fact it doesn’t have a lot of standard features that typical earbuds have. For example, if it falls out your ear, it will keep playing. So if you’re doing an audiobook before bed, and your kiddos comes in asking a question, and you pull out the earbuds from your ear to answer their question, then when get back to the audiobook, you missed several minutes of it. I wish there was a “sleep mode” and a “ear bud” mode. This way you can use them for a jog, run, walk, exercise, or anything. And then put them in a sleep mode so they don’t stop if it falls out your ear when you sleep. That said, you don’t have to connect these to Bluetooth if you don’t want to as in you don’t need to play media. You can use the built in sounds to help you sleep. This will be perfect for when I travel. At the end of the day, I really do enjoy these.

The Anker Sleep A30 earbuds provide exceptional battery life and sound, especially given their small form factor -- small enough to be comfortable for even side sleepers. The built in toggle between Bluetooth connection and local white noise file (selectable by the user) is a great feature. You can listen to an audiobook, podcast, music, or your own white noise and toggle to the locally-stored white noise for incredible battery life. Even if you leave Bluetooth on all night to listen to your own content, the battery lasts until you wake up. I previously had the A10 edition and this is a huge improvement. I also previously used the Bose sleepbuds, and while these are a similar form factor with similar features, the A30 blows Bose out of the water. You won't be disapointed with these if you give them a try. I was skeptical that they'd be as much of an improvement over the A10s in terms of battery life and sound quality, but they are, and I've been sleeping through the night ever since my purchase.

These a30 earbuds seem to work as advertised. It takes a few days to get used to them in your ears and be able to comfortably sleep. Reduces a large amount of noise and reduces the ringing in my ears somewhat, not completely but enough where I can fall asleep and get some rest at night.

Bought this for myself and I love it. I look forward to using these every night. I toss and turn a lot in my sleep and for the first days they would fall out three times a night but now that I’ve got the right silicone bud fit they fall out maybe once. Even when they fall out I don’t notice them gone so I’m still sound asleep. My whoop sleep score has improved since I started wearing these.

They shut off during the night as you would expect, but if you wake up and want to continue listening, good luck! They say they are still connected, but they don't play. If you disconnect and try to reconnect, you have to re-pair them .... not the kind of shenanigans you want to deal with when you're trying to sleep. I tried the app in all kinds of configurations and nothing solved this problem. I returned them.

I cannot sleep in a silent room, I don’t know why, it just doesn’t work for me. I had been playing music from a little Bluetooth speaker, but I got paranoid about it maybe being too loud and my neighbors can hear it. It’s unlikely, but I still felt weird about it. My next thing to do was use one of those Bluetooth headbands, which work well AND work in my motorcycle helmet. The problem is the cable on the speakers are very fragile, so taking out the electronics parts to wash the headband, would wear it down and eventually break. Since they were about $20 to begin with, wasn’t *that* big of a deal, so I just bought 3 at a time and it would last me for the year. Over the ear headsets don’t work as I also sleep on my side, and my other wireless earbuds aren’t designed to be slept on. The Soundcore Sleep A30 mostly solves my audio/sleep dilemma. They fit snugly in my ear and don’t fall off (as long as I properly set it!), and the music I play sounds great. My only problem is(was) that I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and it’s on local mode, and not Bluetooth mode. At this point I tap it back to Bluetooth and start my music again. To be clear, the switching of music to local rain sound is not what wakes me up - I woke up because I had to wake up due to breathing issues. As it turns out, the app is set that once it detects you’re sleeping, it’ll switch to local mode. I’ve just switched it so that it’ll keep playing the BT audio instead of switching over. The ANC feature seems almost unnecessary - turning it on and off only provides a very subtle / slight change for me. As I’ve been testing it, without the ANC and snuggly in ear, it already blocks out my a/c noise and lowers the tv volume. If I turn ANC on, the voices are slightly lower, but not significant enough to notice casually. I only noticed because I was very intent on spotting the difference in turning ANC on and off, both within the app and tapping the right earbud. Speaking of tapping, you can change what the tapping does on each earbud within the soundcore app, which is very helpful Pros: Fits snugly and won’t fall off, if you secure it correctly Immediately blocks out most noise by merely putting it in ear Slim profile means side sleepers can use it Snugly fitting in ear already blocks off sounds without ANC on Comes with several different sizes of ear attachments Customizable double tap actions per earbud Cons: Easy to incorrectly place in ear Easy to incorrectly place in case, which leads to no charging As you can see, the minimal cons are simply related to incorrect placement - which for me - was due to trying to do it too quickly! If you take your time, you should be fine

Connecting via Bluetooth is easy. They will easily connect with or without their app, which is a perk when traveling or using a shared device. They do a decent job of muting the ambient noise. While not the best I have tried, these are by far the most comfortable. When it comes to combining comfort and noise cancellation, these are the best I have tried! With these, I am still able to sleep through the sound of an air conditioner with the fan on high, right next to me. The rubber wings really do help to mute the sound if positioned correctly. The box, instructions, and app all say to position them a certain way. Don’t ignore it! There is a big difference when done properly. When noise cancellation is activated, the sound does have some increased bass, which can be a little distracting when trying to go to sleep, but otherwise the sound quality is fairly good. The size of the buds is great! They are compact enough that I can lie on my side, head and ear flat on a pillow, and there is no extra pressure of the earbud trying to be forced further into my ear. Not to mention, they remain secure and do not fall out while I am asleep. More than once, I have lost a bud from other brands in the middle of the night. One went into a couch I slept on, and it was never seen or heard from again. These Soundcore buds stay in place really well. The buds hold a charge quite well and can run for a long time. More than once, I have started a long playlist, and the buds kept going all night long. The batteries definitely last more than eight hours, as stated by the manufacturer. I have not been able to push them to their limits yet, but they last the entire time I am asleep. And they do not become uncomfortable over time. I have had some that need to come out within a few hours because my ears are sore. So far, my ears have no issues with these staying in all night. That is a huge plus for me. The touch controls on the buds are simple to use. They have voice announcements to say what was just activated or deactivated, so there is never confusion about what was changed. The app has some nice features, including an alarm that sounds in the buds, since the noise cancellation also blocks phone ringers really well. It is impossible for me to hear my phone’s usual alarm playing on the speaker when the buds are in and working, so this is a really important feature. Additionally, Soundcore provides access to Calm sleep sounds, which are really relaxing. I like to fall asleep to music or videos, but for those who like relaxing sounds, they are definitely worth checking out. Overall, I am happy with these earbuds and would definitely recommend them to a friend.

The Soundcore Sleep A30 Special can be a life changer for those who are having trouble falling and staying asleep. It is an excellent pair of ultra-compact sleep earbuds designed for overnight wear, especially for side sleepers. I previously used the Soundcore Sleep A20, and the A30 Special is an incremental upgrade. The Sleep A30 Special mainly improved on comfort and battery life while retaining the same core design and features. It weighs 3 grams per earbud, the drivers are 4.6 mm, and the battery is rated for 8-10 hours per charge depending on your settings. I used it for 3 nights on a single charge. The A30 has Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which can be good for those who travel. The Sleep A30 Special fits discreetly in your ears so you can wear them comfortably on airplanes to mask noise or use them in a hotel setting to mask loud traffic noise, loud air conditioners, or even some pets. I used them at home while sleeping to mask my dog's snoring. The Sleep A30 Special offers Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. This seamless connectivity made streaming my favorite music and podcasts easy and enjoyable. The earbuds also worked offline with built-in sounds. The Sleep A30 Special earbuds are not high-end earbuds. There is no deep bass or crisp treble. The sound quality is adequate for sleep content, white noise, podcasts, or low-volume music. You can, however, use the Sleep A30 Special for daytime use like walking, yoga, and meditation. The Sleep A30 Special comes with an app. I used the app to customize sounds, auto sleep detection, and a wake-up alarm. The most important feature of these earbuds is the comfort. I am a side sleeper. The soft silicone 3D ergonomic design sat flush on my ears. I tested several silicone and memory tips to make sure they fit securely with no amount of pressure on my ears. I hardly noticed the Sleep A30 Special earbuds were attached to my ears. After several nights, my ears felt as if I had not worn any sleep aid device; no soreness. If comfort and noise-such as snoring or environmental sounds are your main issue, the Sleep A30 Special is the best sleep earbuds available. Its effective noise masking can help you feel more secure and at ease during sleep, particularly for side sleepers. It meaningfully improves on earlier Soundcore sleep models with proper ANC while fixing the original A20's main battery shortcoming.

I heard about these and had to try them to mask out snoring! Picked them up, brought them home and downloaded the app (Soundcore) The bluetooth was supposed to connect in the app, but that failed and I used the "settings" method to complete it quickly. This was the only hiccup and really a "no issue" Once connected, I started testing them out. First though I gave the case a full charge (the headphones apparently came with a full charge from the case The in-ear comfort is amazing. These fit better than other in-ear set that I own, and honestly did not think it is possible until now I ran them through the paces with my own playlist, and the audio quality is top notch. The higher and lows are super clear and balanced Now the app is where the really good stuff take place and where this shows Anker innovation I skipped the "Sleep Stories" and meditations and went straight to the "Snore Masking" and chose "Rainy Alley" where as the name implies is rain on a roadway. Wore them to bed that night and yes they work perfectly. - First the low profile design made them fit completely inside the ear and you can't feel them. This would have been a deal breaker, but these passed wonderfully - Second they worked to gently block the snoring (active NC?) with the soft background sound There is a lot more to test out like "Tinnitus Masking" where it helps you customize the frequency Lastly, it does have an AI tab where you tell it what you are looking for to listen to, and it can guide or take action for you Overall these are a huge leap forward with fit, comfort, sound and most importantly functionality

Beautiful sound, Special Calming Sleep Aids and superior comfort make a great combination. These earbuds have these qualities and more. First there is an almost instant pairing, so Soundcore gets a tip of the cap for a design that really performs the Bluetooth pairing in a simple and fast way. The earbuds snap magnetically into their charging case with a solid plink. The Sleep A30’s have a special design for seating in your ears intuitively and quickly. The earbuds are very soft, and you are provided with several cushions to ensure you find your precise fit. However, the most unique feature is a small sort of flap that ends up pointing upward when properly inserted into your ear. This flap perfectly tucks into a normal ‘fold’ in your ear to ensure the earbuds are secure. Jogging, exercising on the treadmill, using a cross trainer, lifting weights, playing Pickle Ball and other types of exercise did not dislodge them – wonderful. The triple noise reduction was important for me as I do not want extraneous sound and the A30’s worked very well. I tried the calming sounds and found that these sounds helped me sleep much better. The unique shape of the earbuds fit into my ears so that even though I am a side sleeper, I was able to use them all night for 8 hours of painless sleep. These earbuds quickly became my main units for music and to aid sleep. The app also is very well designed and easy to use. I do highly recommend this outstanding product.

Are you the type of person that has to listen to music,podcasts or audio books to fall asleep? But you have a partner that needs absolute silence. Heres a pair of earbuds you can actually sleep in. Ive tried sleeping in numerous different types and brands and none of them were as comfortable as these. I was able to sleep on my side with my head on my pillow without feeling like I had a rock stuck in my ear. These also have adaptive/active noise canceling. If you have a partner that snores these will adapt and filter out the noise. This feature works great. Sound quality is amazing, so amazing that listening to the ocean in the stand alone mode will make you feel like youre actually at the ocean as soon as you close your eyes. Included in the box is several ear tip and wings to fit just about anyones ears. Battery life seems to be great after about 8-9hrs they were still going strong. They have a built in alarm so no worries on not hearing one while sleeping in them or using the ANC. I cannot express how happy I am with these and how happy I am that someone finally made earbuds that are comfortable to sleep in.
