I had a similar experience today as several of the other reviews. I had two tube TVs in the basement that I needed hauled away and recycled. I also gathered the unlimited options from the list and put together a box of items to be recycled. My mom, a senior citizen, was home when they arrived. He took one TV and one six inch box of cords. He wouldn’t take anything else. I had left a printout from the Best Buy website with all the items highlighted and he refused to take them. So basically I paid $200 to recycle one TV. I called CS and they arranged another pickup for next week. I really hope they take everything this time. I don’t know why Best Buy doesn’t make the expectations clear to the companies they contract to come to haul away.

This service is great. We were cleaning out my father-in-law's house, which was a mess, and had a ton of old electronics. The two gentlemen from Best Buy did a great job in a rough environment. The only issue was we were not made aware that everything needed to be in boxes so we had to scramble a little when they arrived.
For those (like myself) who are immobile, this is a great service! Unfortunately, rather than hauling away (for return or recycling) all the things replaced by a new BestBuy purchase, for many items they insist that I deliver them to a BestBuy outlet myself, which I cannot do. If they extended that service, it would be excellent and wonderfully helpful.

Like almost every other reviewer, I experienced the absolute train-wreck of an experience that is this "service." The haul away team arrived at my apartment and insisted that they could only take one item (when I had two TVs, a standing fan, a keyboard, and a mouse - all which falls within the haul away limits when one buys this service). I calmly tried to explain what the website says and what the service is, and even show him the website on my phone, and he immediately "Sir, sir, sir'd" me and had a terrible attitude and would not even let me get a complete sentence out. I said they needed to call someone then, because the service allows for two large items, unlimited small items. He calls someone, says again that it's only one item, at which point I told them to get out (since he wasn't letting me explain myself at all anyway!). While the haul away team should not have been disrespectful in the first place and at least heard me out, it is even more UNACCEPTABLE that Best Buy has not addressed this process breakdown! You have MULTIPLE people reviewing this service who have experienced the same issues, yet nothing has been done to correct it. I truly do not exaggerate when I say that any time I have given Best Buy my money in the past few months, it has only led to stress and frustration. This is another perfect example! FIX WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

[Employee of bestbuy] We bought a new house and inherited an ancient, inefficient old chest freezer with that purchase. I was able to schedule a pick up within a week. The team called to let us know they were on their way. Once they arrived, they did some quick measuring to ensure it would clear doors and stairways and had the freezer carried out of our basement and on the truck within 10 minutes. This saved us so much time and hassle!

We purchased and scheduled the Haul away & Recycle Service. This part was easy and simple. However, the 3rd party Best Buy used would only take 2 large products and refused to take any of select smaller products. The 3rd party said they only take appliances. After several calls with Best Buy we eventually asked for, and was granted, a partial refund (the amount was mutually agreeable). Instead of receiving that refund against the credit card, Best Buy charged our card an additional amount. We have spent several hours on the phone with the Service Center being passed around seemingly unable to find anyone to correct our problem.

This service is very good and professional when you need to remove big items on a tight schedule. If you do not have a tight schedule, this service may be expensive.

First crew hadn’t read the product description and didn’t have enough room left on their truck for my 20 year old, 5’x5’x3’ projection television. To send a second truck days later, some genius decided to cancel my order and I had a double charge on my Best Buy credit card for the second attempt. The second crew, as I’m explaining why we’re walking around the building to the rear patio entrance, actually asked me what they were moving! The only excellent part of this whole fiasco was the double effort of the clerk at the Best Buy store, who diligently entered all the relevant information twice, like product information (over 350 pounds) and directions. The second time he was on his lunch break! Sadly, he appeared to be the only one at the store who knew how to do this. My ratings are for the second-party contract crews who came to do the hauling, not the clerk who was excellent!

Don't purchase this service through Best Buy! At least if you're expecting them to provide the service in full. Haulaway of our large flatscreen TV was completed without issue, but the 3rd party hired by Best Buy refused any of the smaller items we had gathered for removal. Look at other reviews, this has been going on for years and still Best Buy continues to offer the service!

When the first guys came, they hook my washing machine up, but they didn’t lock down. Everything which was a couple of tubes was shaking when the machine came on. but the second time they came back and everything worked well

I paid for Haul Away and Recycle service to remove 2 large TVs and some smaller items. The contractors who arrived came and left without removing all the items and marked the order as complete. A week later I’m still waiting to get the service I paid for.

They did a fabulous job installing my refrigerator, quick fast and easy. I really appreciate the second team that came out to install my refrigerator. although it was after Thanksgiving Nevertheless, they did a fabulous job. Thanks guys.
