Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is a Japanese RPG that may be missing a few features, but it is still a great game. The battle system is fantastic, where you control one character and have all others controlled by the AI through the use of Roles. The graphics are top-notch and while there are a few sour notes in terms of voice acting, the main cast is exceptionally well. It may not be a long game, especially when compared to Star Ocean: The Last Hope, but it still provides hours of entertainment, with the main story being a good 25-35 hours and there being a lot of sidequests and even some optional dungeons to uncover. One of the bigger annoyances is the camera, with it being a bit jittery and requiring the sensitivity to be turned down.

Star Ocean V was a good game that certainly could have been great, if the developers had put more money or time into it. Having only played Star Ocean The Last Hope, and loved it, I was excited for this game to come out. When I finally played it, it was a bit underwhelming. Cutscenes are very few in number; instead, I received most of the story dialogue through a view of the characters' backs as trying to work the camera was cumbersome at best. Be prepared for A LOT of backtracking through the same areas. After a while, you get used to it, and accept the fate. Also, the side quests lack meaning for the most part. It's a lot of fetch quests for the sake of adding extra gameplay time. It may sound like I did not like the game, when in reality when I stopped comparing it to the previous game, and explored the fun battle system, the game was good, just not great.

Star Ocean isn't exactly a top-tier RPG, but it is definitely a solid one. The battle system, character design, and soundtrack are quite good. I just wish the story was a little better.

Game play is good in general. Plays a lot like other JRPG's such as Tales of series. But then you get to a point where even if you had been level grinding a bit it's not enough and the boss will one hit KO your entire team (playing on hardest difficulty). That said, graphics are ok, especially love the scenery and world itself, decent music, haven't gotten far enough to say whether or not Inlike the story line. Overal good RPG.

Having played 3 and 4, this one is alot of fun. The battle system is very simplistic easy to get into. Looks great on PS4. Tries to have a AI system similar to Final Fantasy 12, but it is no where as complex or beneficial, AI regardless of adjustments seems a little mindless.
