Mediocre at best, i played the demo, it was a little rough around the edges, so even after the full game released i gave it some time figuring there would be some patches and updates to polish it up...it was just as bad as the demo. Graphically its decent, except it bugs me the mouths dont match the dialog, but looking past that something about the way it controls just doesnt feel right, though i found it ok assuming i would get used to it, but once you get the robot helper thing it gets a bit too much for my taste, but even looking past that, i explored an area gathered all the treasure, saved my game in the field, attempted to beat a boss and died, not too big a deal, except my save didnt seem to matter, it left the area un explored and i was not about to keep exploring the area over again every time i died so i quit the game and gave up...not for me, but maybe some can look past these faults and still enjoy the game.

In a classic JRPG sort of way this game is excellent. Strong characters, fun combat, really neat small touches and details that i think many other reviews have ignored. Eg the fun minigame, detailed idle animations, the well designed skyboxes, many voiced dialogs during travels. Great and has the soul of games from a bygone era. Both Raymond and Laeticia are strong protagonists. Give this one a shot!

After playing through the disaster that was SO5 I was surprised that another was made. I was pleasantly surprised. Battle system was fun and engaging, traversal through the world was fun and the characters were pleasant. Story wasn’t phenomenal but there were some twists towards the end that were appreciated and less common in JRPG storytelling today. Each if the characters play differently so you don’t get bored changing things up.

My son loves this games he plays every chance he can he wants to win the whole game in one setting if he can

Fun combat, great artwork and decent story. Budget constraints are apparent throughout the game but doesn’t hinder the experience too much.

Star Ocean is a nice Action RPG that excels in its fast-paced battles. Although the character models and story leave something to be desired. Nothing too groundbreaking, but there is still enough substance to keep you interested on what is happening. I am mostly into the combat in this series, and I am very pleased with it. Those who have played the previous games will see some subtle tie-ins to the other Star Ocean games.

Similar to the previous Star Ocean games, this one has a great storyline. Gameplay was fun and I would recommend this game to beginners to RPGs.

If you're into sci-fi fantasy mixed together this is the best game you'll ever ask for I played the first ones and this one Takes the Cake the graphics are out of this world I'm telling you the anime characters look like were real people PS5 enhanced graphics out of this world. And if you're wondering if the man eating trees and the harpies made it into this installment they did and they look fantastic. One of the best games I've played this year I recommend to anyone that is a fan of the series

Star ocean through and through. Fun combat, decent storyline, good length. Crafting is done fairly well but is not pushed on you.

First Off, from what I've played I have enjoyed. It's a bit different from your average Star Ocean game in that you can eventually go almost anywhere through flying and such. The battles albeit fast can be slowed down if one feels the need to. I didn't like the stamina system in place preventing the player from spamming the attack button. Also I would like to point out a side note. I'm really tired of buying my games only to have ups always delivere them with a loose disc.

Fast pace combat and combo chains story driven RPG. Switch characters on the fly fun to play.

The games fun if you like JRPGs 80% chance you'll have a good time with this. If the combat doesn't click right away try out the other characters

Best Star Ocean have we gotten in years. With a wonderful cast of characters, engaging and addictive combat, Tri-Ace and Star Ocean fans will have a blast with this title and will no doubt appreciate its excellence of the travesty that was 2016's Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness.

This game brings me joy! It has a strong resemblance to phantasy star online 2. I love the quick action gameplay! I can care less for the ingame models and the voice dub syncing but the game looks and feels perfectly good

I know this game gets some hate but honestly it looks awesome! I do have some issues with the battle system in the game such as the ap gauge and such but either way in my opinion I had a blast and really liked the story. At full price it might not be for everyone but on sale it’s perfect for rpg fans.

This entry is far better than the last installment. It has such a great story and interesting characters.
