One star off because the game has been crashing regularly, not enough to be furious as the auto save on this game is very robust and as a Bethesda title save hording and scumming is a requirement. However, it is enough to dock a star because this game came out 4 years ago and apparently rarely crashes on Xbox and PC. If Bethesda can release Skyrim 47 times, Oblivion Remastered, and Fallout 5 47 times without crash problems on PS5, then Starfield should be no different. The second star off because even though I like a ton of things about this game the game is just. so. EMPTY. Exploring planets and surveying feels like a slog, Going from point a to point b until you get a vehicle for land exploration is like actually walking 10 miles from one place to another, and when I sit down to play a game after a long day of work I would like to not spend two hours walking 10 miles in a straight line, often with NOTHING happening in-between point a and b. It reminded me very much of the planet surveying in Mass Effect 1, and that was the only thing about the Shepard ME games that drove me crazy. The three full stars, and those three full stars are iron clad and sincere, are because I love the lore, I love the story, I love building ships (even if the builder is wonky), I love dogfighting, I love the gun play, and like Skyrim and Fallout, you can take on the main story whenever you want and just jump from planet to planet. Overall, if you missed the chance to play this game back in 2023 then I say give it a purchase, have some fun bumping around an alternate history where we ruined the Earth, spread out to the stars, and pretend it is cowboy bebop by playing jazz while you play like me. If you have played it before, then throw the money into the "break open for Elder Scrolls 6" jar. You know it, it is right next to the ancient urn that is labeled "break open for GTA 6."

The visuals are amazing! There were a few bugs at first such as unexpected freezes. However after the first patch the game runs smoother.

Better than the Xbox version. If you buy the premium edition the downloadable content comes for free with a redeemable code. The code is found inside the box, with directions to the left of the disc, when you open up the game magazine. Redeem the code through the Playstation Store...download shattered space, terran armada, and other cool stuff. Good luck. Enjoy.

I played this when it originally launched on XBOX but never completed it. The Bethesda magic as slowly been vanishing ever since Fallout 4 and while I tried to get back into it on PS5. Give it another shot with all the new updates and DLC? There's a slight hint of said magic buried away but I couldn't reach it.
