I have enjoyed going through this game. The art is beautiful and the story is entertaining as always

Suikoden has always been a sort of black sheep series that I loved to play as a kid, but seemed to not have the biggest following. Most can barely pronounce the title (Swee-kuh-din) let alone say that they have played it. But, for those that have, they have very fond memories of the series. In this bundle, you'll get the first pretty good game in the series and the second very excellent game as well. Most people are going to buy this for Suikoden 2, but don't sleep on the Suikoden 1. It's a great setup that will introduce you to characters you'll see in part 2. If you don't have a ton of nostalgia for the series or don't like playing older games (even with a modern coat of paint) this might not be for you. These games are great, don't get me wrong, but they came out in the 90's and their stories and some gameplay elements reflect that. If you're willing to take a chance though and stick with it, there's a lot of gaming goodness here. Bring on part 3!

I fell in love again with old school rpgs. This HD remaster takes me back yo ny childhood. Improved graphics and no loading tomes basically.

I'm glad that a lot of the older games are being released again even if they have little updates to qol. I only ever got to play part 1 so this was a no brainer as I always wanted to play part 2. Classic games. Classic adventures.

I never played these games back in the day, so I am reviewing them from a modern perspective. The main issue is that there are a lot of quality-of-life features that are missing. The inventory management is a pain, it's quite hard to determine which characters are actually worth adding to your team, it can be hard to figure out where to go next, and you basically have to follow a guide step-by-step to get the good endings. Suikoden I was just okay. It had an alright story, an interesting premise, and an okay battle system. This one I would rank a 3/5 on its own. Suikoden II on the other hand... well, this one made the purchase worthwhile. An absolutely fantastic story with memorable characters and some strong emotional gut punches. It could have used some refinement with the game mechanics, and it sucks that I had to use a guide to beat it, as the game is not always great about explaining how to progress, but the story alone made it a standout RPG for me.

The Suikoden games on the PSX are some of the best on the console. Great and well paced stories that tell politically complex and intricate narratives without being weighed down by hours of dialogue. Fun and snappy gameplay, gorgeous pixel art, and then a world that's fun to explore and find all of the characters is a must have experience.

Great quality remaster of an extremely important JRPG for its time. The speed battle mode is imperative for making this feel more modern. Great story, fun characters. The equipment/inventory management is a little clunky, but not annoying. Great price for a chance to play these rare, expensive, psone era JRPGs. These games have aged well, and there are many many games today that have drawn from such a foundational game.

I played this game on ps1 and still love it. If you have never play it, it is a gem. Great Story, Characters and good battle system. I recommend it!!

I have been a huge fan of the Suikoden series since the OG Playstation days. Now is the perfect chance to either re-live or play for the first time one of the great RPGs of its time. The art style, story, characters, and gameplay still hold up to this day. Do not pass on this game if you have a chance to get it, plus the fact that it is two games in one.

I played this game originally on PS1 release and they are some of my top favorite JRPGs (Specifically Suikoden 2). The updated visuals and music is all wonderfully done while keeping its charm in tact. The characters all are fun, collecting them all to grow your castle is a blast, and the 6 character battles has always been fun. There are some quirks with the user interface and how characters hold items... its a little old school and a touch micro-managey but luckily once you find a team you like, you dont have to do a bunch of managing of items. There are some story elements that very abrupt from the original and it still remains in this game today, which I find funny but its nothing that breaks the game/immersion. Suikoden 2, this is where the series truely shines for me. Great story telling of a tragic story between 3 wonderful friends. Great characters overall, fun castle mini games, just lots that keeps htis game feeling alive and full of charm. I'd say get a physical copy of this game and add it to your collection!

One of the best games to get a remaster! Visuals are amazing and revisiting the story makes me appreciate these games more. Recommend for RPG enthusiast.

Suikoden was one of my first introductions to JRPGs back in the day. It’s great to be able to revisit these classics on in the modern era with a limited amount of upgrades. I really love the Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth ultra modern versions, but Suikoden works very well in its original simplicity. This collection is in the same vein as the recent Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. It gently touches up the original games, but leaves much unchanged. And that’s fine with me, because these games were so good in the first place that very little needed to be done to them for modern gamers to enjoy them. Highly recommended.

As a kid, I loved these games and now, as an adult, it was awesome to revisit these with updated graphics and new, quality of life features. I would highly recommend these HD versions to anyone looking to relive their childhood.

SO GOOD. So good, seriously. This game is the perfect remaster and I’m so happy they brought this game to modern consoles. I wasn’t going to pay the eBay people any extra money for this tbh.

These games are so awesome and not enough people know about them. Give them a chance and you'll have a new favorite.

Great Remasters. Suikoden 1's inventory system isn't the best in the remaster but it still absolutely worth the purchase. Suikoden 2 is one of the best games of all time and directly imports your save from Suikoden 1. Absolutely recommend this collection.

This game is so nostalgic, and Konami did an excellent job remastering it. Hopefully they extend this trend with the rest of the games in the Suikoden series
