The kid's film was super cute. The ending could have been better, but overall a pretty good movie.

I love this film for its’ crashing train sequence in Dolby TrueHD 7.1! Only I wish it were in Dolby Atmos! Dolby Vision and the HDR10 are pristine and the darks are dark and the brights and highlights with contrast !

I really enjoyed this movie and it’s just a fun movie all around. The HDR pops especially on the explosion scenes. Great looking SteelBook as well.

I love this movie, have not seen it in so long. They don’t play it on any streaming I watch so I forgot about it. It’s stranger things before stranger things. Had to buy it.

Such a work of art. This is a must for movie bluffs and people with nice powerful surround sound systems. The big scene is VERY loud and a good big setup will add to the texture of this movie

A/V quality is good. I’ll be a bit critical first and then try to end on a positive note… Frankly, the story admittedly isn’t my favorite extraterrestrial story. It seems like a well-done made-for-tv script on a high-dollar budget. I struggled to determine what type of a movie that it wanted to be until the climax (thriller/scary or drama like E.T.). It has sort of a choppy start and then gets interesting and focused about the train scene. However, the ending (though appropriate and somewhat “happy”) was a bit of a let down personally upon first viewing. The alien doesn’t look too real IMO. (Though, for some reason, it does look better on the 4K UHD format.) That said, the boy-girl interest (between the two most interesting characters) is innocent and heartwarming (and heartfelt given their background). These characters grew on me, but overall, I didn’t care as much for the others (which seemed either slightly generic or stereotypical). What I ultimately gathered from story is that there is just as much significance with the main characters’ inner struggle (from the beginning) as it is the situation they are facing (alien encounter in their small town). I suspect that many find the resolution satisfying nonetheless.

Taking inspiration from a variety of 80s cinematic tropes, J.J. Abram's Super 8 remains a terrifically entertaining sci-fi adventure that also feels like an homage to the monster disaster movies of the 50s and 60s. And what ultimately makes the film work a decade later is a heartwarming tale of friends coping with grief and loss when family fails. Paramount Home Entertainment celebrates the film's 10th Anniversary on 4K Ultra HD with a strong Dolby Vision HDR presentation that offers an appreciable yet minor uptick over it Blu-ray predecessor. The same, demo-worthy Dolby TrueHD mix and the same set of supplements as before are also ported over for this UHD edition, and in the end, the overall package still makes for a recommended, if also somewhat reluctantly, upgrade.

I saw Super 8 and LOVED it. I laughed, I cried, and I jumped up out of my seat 8 times! It was a fun, fun nostalgic ride on an early summer afternoon. The late 1970's music, costumes, location, and set props were right on. Fantastic cinematography, sound design, and special affects. Ahhhh, but this movie has heart in the story and in the acting. Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, and the new young actor who plays Joe Lamb steal the movie. This 'coming of age' story is set in a more innocent time, before middle schoolers began 'hooking up.' The rest of the kids who make up the motley film crew are believably hilarious. Each cleverly has his or her own specialty in film making. You can only imagine a young JJ Abrams doing the same thing when he was a boy. Super 8 is one of the BEST movie I've seen in a long, long time.

This is a fantastic 4K UHD transfer and a solid upgrade compared to the standard blu-ray that was released in 2011, which already had a great transfer to begin with. Dolby Vision improves further with the color grading of the movie. The 4K UHD blu-ray disc includes the following special features (same special features from the standard blu-ray release): -Audio Commentary -The Dream Behind Super 8 -The Search for New Faces -Meet Joel Courtney -Rediscovering Steel Town -The Visitor Lives -Scoring Super 8 -Do You Believe in Magic? -The 8mm Revolution -Deconstructing the Train Crash -Deleted Scenes

This movie looks fantastic on blu ray. If you could mute the audio every time the fat kid making the movie speaks, it would be 10X better.
