The Richard Donner Cut should have been the theatrical release. Loved it!

I believe the added bits improved the original theatrical story, giving more detail & insight into Zod & his unmerry bunch of hooligans along with seeing more of Clark & his father. I had the DVD version but wanted to upgrade to Blu-ray for the improved picture & sound quality. I wasn't disappointed.

The Richard Donner cut of Superman II is much better than the original release.

You haven't seen all the Superman films until you've seen this! Superman II starring Christopher Reeve returns with a never-before-seen beginning and resolution. Director Richard Donner began shooting his vision of Superman II while concurrently filming Superman The Movie. For the first time, his unique vision is here. Jor-El (Marlon Brando in recently found footage) appears in key new scenes that amplify Superman lore and deepen the relationship between father and son. Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) plots more schemes to unmask Clark Kent as Superman. With so many changes, large and small, this version is an eye-opening alternate experience.

This film would have been just as good if not better than Superman the Movie if the producers didn't fire Richard Donner. The fact that he filmed half of Superman II during the first is only reason this is available. The only bummer is some of the footage Donner never got to film and luckily they had rehearsal footage of the scenes. It was so cool to hear Mr. Donner talk about the film since he hadn't seen his cut in 30 years.

Although this directors cut is held back in terms of its full potential due to the years it took to see the light of day. ‘Superman 2: the Richard Donner cut’ is the absolute essential follow up to Richard Donner‘s ‘superman the movie’ and a must own for all fans of any incarnation of Superman. Christopher Reeves performance reminds everyone why he still to this day is the worlds true Superman.

The actual cut is meh as the O.G. is iconic to me.

Wow.... this version was so different from the original and I'm not sure if I really liked it better, but I sure did like feeling like I was watching a totally different movie that was made 40 years ago! Excellent!!! Christopher Reeves is the best version of Superman and probably always will be for me

This movie is a fantastic follow up to Superman. This was a movie that proves in the 80’s sequels do not suck at all. This is a well written and directed movie. Again Chris made Superman his and any follow ups can’t hold.

This Director's Cut is actually very different from the Original Cut. Most special editions only have 2-5min of extra footage and minor special features. This edition has a chalkful of special features and a much longer story telling between Lois and Clark and between Jar-El and Kar-El. I love this version. So happy I got it especially on sale.

Super action and adventure. This is a special cut of Superman II. It's reconstructed using archival film and sound elements long thought to be missing. It also pieces together unseen footage in order to present the most comprehensive version of what was to be the original. Worth purchasing and adding to your movie library.

The Snyder Cut of it’s day! Film school in a movie. This is the true version of what this movie should’ve looked like. It’s incredible! Watch it if you haven’t! But it when you do!

The Richard Donner cut takes the already good Superman 2 and makes it so much better by cutting some cheesy studio decisions and make the movie a more Superman feeling film. Great 80's effects in some funfight scenes and Gene Hackman hamming it up as Lex Luthor. You can't go wrong!

This is one of my favorite films of all time because when Christopher Reeve donned the cape, He became the greatest Superman ever!!! Richard Donner knew how to direct this film franchise before the Salkinds took it from him.

I am a huge Superman fan, this movie is my all time favorite. And this edition with added scenes make it a whole new experience. Christopher Reeve will always be Superman!! A must have for any comic book fan & any generation to enjoy

Three super villains with the same powers as Superman. Great to see Richard Donner's cut of the movie released on Blu Ray. The only criticism is the ending. Same as the first film.

One instance where the sequel is better. This director cut actually almost makes it a different movie... in a good way! This is a must have.

Christopher Reeves is by far the best Superman! Two thumbs up!

I've heard good things about the "original" cut by Donner. Doesn't change the story substantially but does add some layers of difference and improvement on the movie.

This is the way the movie should have been made and released I love it and Richard Donna didn't get his due diligently for making such an awesome movie
