SVS has upgraded their 3000 Micro subwoofers by enlarging the speaker size from 8 to 9 inches, boosting the RMS power rating from 800 to 1200 watts, and increasing DSP processing from 50 MHz to an incredible 295 MHz. The new SVS 3000 Micro R/Evolution subwoofer remains an incredibly small yet powerful subwoofer. It is uniquely designed to house two opposing 9” speakers capable of bass down to 20 Hz, yet the speaker cabinet is barely larger than the speakers themselves. The finish is exquisite with a piano white gloss finish, and no fingerprints to worry about. Being white, it’s easy to blend the sub into your exiting home theatre setup or HiFi sound system without drawing attention to a big black box subwoofer. The benefit of the dual speaker design is the elimination of all needless vibration. The bass sounds pure and clean as there are no ports to produce the huffing sound that are often found on some subwoofers. It’s not lightweight, weighing 22.5 pounds. One standout feature of the 3000 Micro R/Evolution is the ability to configure all your settings using your smartphone and the SVS app. If you enjoy crawling around on your hands and knees, there are the more conventional controls of the back of the cabinet, but even that is done with up and down arrow keys and a small LED display to view and change settings…no knobs, switches, or dials to get bumped. Everything is digital. Our home theatre serves a dual purpose, providing much improved tv sound that blows most soundbars away, and listening to music via Bluetooth smartphone app. The SVS subwoofer blends perfectly with our in-ceiling speakers and Yamaha AV receiver to give us the best of both worlds. Good subwoofers cost money, and the SVS 3000 Micro R/Evolution is well worth the expense for a well-built and great sounding subwoofer in a small footprint.

I purchased two of these subwoofers for a 5.2 set up. I have a room on the larger size - about 3600 Cu Ft. They have amazing output even in a larger room. Yeah, Im not getting my chest caved in, but they produce great and clean bass with plenty of rumble. Extremely happy with them!
