Foam too hard, hurts when hit

The Whomp ball is the perfect size but the foam material is too hard for kids. When the kids get hit by the ball it hurts. The idea is great but I am unable to use because of that issue. Best for much older kids or adults.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
