Helps cool down the laptop. Doesn’t help that the laptop doesn’t dissipate heat well. I don’t fault this product for that. A little loud though.

Not the type you want to use everyday or all day at work, as I found out. The fan might start making a screeching spund and tap out.

This is a great lap cooling station. The cord is located at the center back of the dock and is convenient to NOT hit your legs when sitting on the couch.

Got this for work. At home, I always prop up the rear of a laptop to allow ample airflow for cooling, but I don’t have that at work. Just elevating on a porous surface helps, and the fan makes it better. Where my laptop would roar trying to keep cool, it hardly makes a peep now. Only down side is that it doesn’t have an on/off switch, so if you use a USB port that always has power (e.g., some docking stations), you have to physically unplug it to shut it off.

We do understand not wanting to take up a port on your laptop. I mean lets face ports are limited on most devices. However, I would recommend using a USB wall adapter. Will this work easily in all set ups no but it will work in most.
