Q: Is that a rain pouch at the bottom? How's this backpack in the rain?
A: Yes there is raincoverin the base from the strap side. Ther are better pictures of this feature at the manufacturers website. I have not used this feature yet... hold on! I just checked it. Well it is NOT attached. Think of it as a backpack size shower cap. This is good because you can hang it out to dry. If you are not careful the ones that are attached, they can mold if not dried appropriately. they can be a drag to dry. Just try not to loose it.
Q: Is this backpack lockable? Can you fit a standard Master Lock through the zipper pulls?
A: You can fit a standard luggage lock through the pulls.
A: Yes, I haven't had any issues with my laptop sliding around while I'm transporting it. And it does have a sturdy waist belt, and a strap those goes across the chest which helps keep the backpack more securely pulled against your back in case you need to run while wearing the backpack.
