The TCL Q-Series portable AC is one of those products that really helps redefine a category that is generally not well liked. I’ve had a few portable ACs in the past, and while they’ve all served their purpose, I’ve pretty much hated them all. This AC is surprisingly different, because it addresses a lot of the pain points I’ve had with portable units over the years. The main thing that stands out is how quiet it actually is. Every portable AC I’ve owned has claimed “maximum cooling with minimal noise,” but none of them have ever been what I would consider quiet… or even pleasant to be around. This one is actually very quiet. I can stand right next to it and have a normal conversation without feeling like I need to raise my voice, which is something I’ve never experienced with a portable unit. This unit is smaller than I expected, but still fairly heavy. The wheels don’t have a locking function, which I would have liked to see. Size matters for my setup though, because I plan to build a support platform and mount this halfway up the wall in my garage, then cut some holds and vent it directly outside. This unit is ideal for this setup because of the dual hose design. Initially I didn’t understand the function of the dual hose, but the more I read about it, the more I realized this will solve my hot garage issue without having to fork out a ton of money for a mini-split. Most portable ACs use a single hose, which pulls air from inside the room to cool the condenser and then exhausts that air outside. That creates negative pressure, which ends up pulling hot air back into the space through gaps and cracks. Since this unit uses a dual hose system, it pulls air from outside for the condenser and keeps the conditioned air inside. It’s a much more efficient design, definitely worth the trade off for having to deal with an extra hose. I spent some time monitoring power draw using an Anker Solix battery, and the behavior here is very consistent. Under full cooling load, I’m seeing around 900–925 watts without any noticeable spikes. Based on the specs (115V / 9 amps), the unit is capable of pulling a little over 1000 watts at peak, so the fact that it’s running below that and staying steady suggests the inverter compressor is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. I kinda nerd out on this stuff, but If you ran this unit at full power 24/7, you’d be looking at roughly 700 kWh per month, which comes out to around $100 depending on your energy rates. That said, this is an absolute worst-case scenario, and very unlikely. Because this unit uses an inverter compressor, it doesn’t just turn on and off like traditional units. Instead, it ramps up and down depending on demand. As the room approaches your target temperature, you’ll see power consumption drops significantly. For example, when I switched it to fan mode, I was seeing power usage in the 25–30 watt range, which is shocking for a unit this size. This is one of those times where opting for a high cost unit will likely save in the long run, because the efficiency of the inverter and dual hose will save on energy consumption. The app setup was fairly straightforward, although there is a bit of an odd pairing sequence. You have to press the fan button several times to put the unit into pairing mode, then scan the QR code on the unit itself. Once connected, it worked without issue. The app essentially functions as a remote control on your phone, with the added ability to set timers. You can schedule the unit to turn on or off after a certain amount of time, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to create more advanced schedules or automation. I was hoping for something closer to a smart home experience, where you could trigger it based on time of day, temperature, or humidity (for example, “dusk to dawn”), but i’m not seeing that level of control. One thing that stood out during setup was the window vent kit. I have a fairly standard size window, and I still had to cut down the panel quite a bit to get everything to line up properly. Without trimming it, the panel actually blocked part of the exhaust openings, which made it impossible to connect the hoses correctly. The instructions mention that trimming may be required, but I don’t really see a scenario where this isn’t required if you are installing the vent kit horizontally in a window. Overall, this feels like a much improved version of the portable ACs I’ve used in the past. It’s still big and clunky, but it’s remarkably quiet and extremely efficient.

Unboxing: Heavy, But in a Good Way When the TCL QSeries Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner showed up at my door, the first thing I noticed was the weight - about 75 pounds. This thing is *solid*. Definitely a two-person lift unless you’re feeling heroic. But honestly, the weight gave me confidence that this wasn’t another flimsy, disposable portable AC. Inside the box, TCL includes everything you need - and I mean everything. The remote comes with batteries (bless them), the dual-hose system is neatly packed, and the window adapters extend up to 89 inches, which is a lifesaver if you have wide or awkward windows. There’s even a drip hose to route condensation safely, so you’re not dealing with puddles or mystery leaks later. It’s one of the few times I’ve opened an appliance and felt like the company actually thought through the setup experience. Setup: From Box to Cold Air in 15 Minutes I’m not exaggerating when I say this thing is ridiculously easy to install. Even if you’ve never touched a portable AC before, you can have it running in about 15 minutes. No confusing diagrams, no weird tools, no swearing at plastic parts that don’t fit. You pop in the window adapter, twist on the hoses, plug it in, and boom - cold air. When it’s 105°F outside and your house feels like a toaster, that fast setup is everything. And moving it between rooms later is just as simple, which is great if you want to cool your bedroom at night and your living room during the day. Performance: Quiet, Powerful, and Shockingly Good in Desert Heat I live in a brutally hot, dry area, so I’m used to portable ACs struggling. Most of them sound like they’re chewing gravel and barely make a dent in the temperature. This TCL unit is the opposite. It’s *quiet* - genuinely quiet - and the cooling power is impressive. The dual-hose system had me skeptical at first since one hose pulls in scorching outdoor air, but it still cools like a champ. Honestly, it performs on par with a window unit, and in some ways better, because you can move it wherever you need it. The 10,000 BTU rating comfortably handles rooms up to about 450 sq. ft., and it keeps the temperature steady instead of cycling loudly on and off. Smart Features: Cooling That Works Around Your Life The WiFi features are where this AC really steps into modern territory. You can control everything from your phone - temperature, mode, scheduling - and it integrates with your smart home setup if you use voice assistants. If you live in a desert climate, this is a game changer. You can turn the AC on before you get home so you’re not walking into a 110°F oven. Or set schedules so it cools only when you need it, saving energy without you having to think about it. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you’ll love until you have it. Value: Worth the Price, and Then Some Yes, the TCL QSeries costs more than bargain portable ACs. But here’s the thing: it actually *works*, and it’s built to last. Cheaper units burn out, leak, or just can’t keep up with real heat. This one reduces the load on your central AC, which means lower electricity bills and less wear on your main system. Over a summer or two, that alone makes up the price difference. Between the quiet operation, strong cooling, smart features, and overall build quality, it feels like an investment — not a temporary fix. Final Verdict After using it extensively, I can say this is hands-down one of the best portable AC units for hot, dry climates. It cools fast, runs quietly, integrates with your smart home, and saves money in the long run. If you’re tired of portable units that barely keep up, the TCL QSeries is absolutely worth it.

This portable air conditioner does what it’s supposed to do, cool down a room efficiently and quietly (if you use the night settings). However, like other reviewers have mentioned, the TCL Home app software support is poor. Also set up is easy, but the window slider might not be the perfect fit. Setting up the air conditioner is simple but could be better – you attach the hoses (one for cool air and the other for exhausting the hot air) to the unit and then to the window slider. The window slider then goes in the window’s opening. This window slider should fit most horizontal and vertical windows. However, the biggest issue is that it may be too big for your window. Mine is about 35 inches and I ended up having to cut the window slider with a jig saw. It’s additional work and additional money if you don’t own the proper equipment for cutting it. I don’t know why a shorter window slider isn’t included to accommodate those with smaller windows. Also, the seal isn’t perfect as you’ll have to use the included weather seal strips to make sure there are no gasps between the slider and the window. This can make removing and setting up the air conditioner annoying if you do it often. TCL could have done something more innovative with its portable air conditioner by using those soft expendable brackets much like those large air conditioners. As far as connections go with the TCL Home App, the air conditioner has a really unstable connection over Bluetooth and WiFi. The connection is bad enough that I say it would be better to just use ignore using the app altogether and just use the physical remote. Speaking of the remote, it’s as simple and standard as you get. Backlighting would be nice, but I guess without it the battery life will be longer. Thankfully what this air conditioner excel at is keeping a room cool. I was using the unit in a room around 350 square feet so it was able to cool the room down relatively quickly (TCL says this can cool a room up to 450 square feet). That said, the unit was also running on high. Regardless, the room was still quite cool in night mode when as long as you’re cooling the room ahead of time instead of trying to go from 76 to 70 instantly. As a portable air conditioner, the TLC unit works and does it job well. However, you have to take into consideration the MSRP of $550; it could be better – having better connectivity with the app and a more accommodating window slider. Better to wait for a sale, but either way you’ll have a functional, efficient air conditioner to cool your room.

Living in the southeast Texas area, its always a good idea to have some extra AC options. Currently, my office is setup with lots of computer equipment that easily heats the room up. I also have a cigar humidor that is temperature sensitive. This is a great option for keeping steady and cool temperature in my office. My office is only about 300 sq/ft so its an easy task for this portable AC unit to take care of, the room can be cooled within a few minutes of being on and that is with a medium fan speed. Setting up this unit is the hurdle with these type of AC units. I wish it had better, more flexible hardware for connecting to a window. My window width is about 35”, so I had to cut the plastic to make it fit (which they recommend in their instructions). I would have much preferred a soft expandable bracket that can shrink to be small or large if needed, similar to what you’d find with window units. The instructions for me were a bit vague, and trying to determine which type of insulation to use on what part of the window got confusing, but I made it work. The hose hookups were a bit of a challenge too, but once you get all that done, then you’re basically done and can start enjoying cold air. My attempt at setting up the app and getting the unit connected to wifi was also a bit challenging. I would put the unit in Bluetooth made but neither of my phones (both Android and iPhone) were able to connect to it. I was finally able to get the unit setup by doing a manual QR code scan from the side of the unit. I will say, the app is pretty great WHEN it works. I was able to control the unit from my phone just like a remote, but since then I’ve had trouble connecting to it. The app says the device is offline, but nothing has changed that should have taken it offline. I will say the remote that comes with the unit is pretty responsive and works well. This AC unit has done wonders for my office, its nicely laid out with easy to understand buttons. Its quiet, but not “ultra” quiet. It has also made some small weird noises that I’d expect an older unit to make with the fans, it comes and goes and is not disruptive, but I do notice it at times. If you can get through the setup fine (took me like 45 minutes from unboxing, cutting, and installing), I think it’s a good unit. If you have a bigger window than mine, you probably won’t need to cut. Also, the tubes are a little more rigid than I expected. If they phone app/wifi on unit were more stable, I think that would be a really great option that would put the unit over the top. This is my first portable AC unit, and living in humid areas, I’m curious to see how the water collection is going to be on this, and how often it needs to be replaced, but having ran it for a week, no alerts yet.

If you’re in the market for a portable ac unit, this TCL model is a great option. The unit comes with everything you need to have the ac up and running within ten minutes of unboxing the machine. You get a drain hose for the condensation, insulation for the window and a remote. The machine has a garden hose hookup so you can do continuous draining instead waiting for it to get full and then draining the machine. The machine is on wheels which makes it easy to move from room to room, plus it has handles built into the side. You can control the machine with either the included remote, the TCL app or you can set it up with Apple HomeKit. If using the app option, use the plus button in the app as that’s the only option I found works for getting the machine and app to work together. When using Apple HomeKit or the app, neither gives you all that many options but Apple HomeKit gives you the option to have the ac unit to automatically turn off once you leave your house. Running `the unit on cool and high and sitting right next to it, the sound measured @ 55 db on my watch. You get 4 speed settings for airflow, it has a sleep function and a timer. This TCL portable ac unit is a great option if it’s your only option for ac in a small area, bringing it with you for camping trips or having it as a backup for emergency situations.

Large capacity A/C & Heat Unit that is in need of a firmware update due to poor app support for remote monitoring and control. PROS 10,000BTU, rated up to 450 square feet effectiveness Energy Efficient Inverter Cooling Cooling, Fan, and Dehumidifying Options CONS Neither Android nor iOS app is functional Does not work properly with Google Home or Matter Hoses are short & non-insulated SET-UP Mechanically, set-up couldn't get much easier. The hoses expand and attach to a pre-made window vent. The window vent is compatible with regular single/double hung vertical windows and single hung horizontal sliding windows. Note that the venting panel does not work with casement windows (think windows that crank out and open at an angle). It isn't a knock against TCL; my other portable air conditioner doesn't work with casement windows either. Total time from unboxing to cooling was about 10 minutes for me. That was delayed as I was taking photos and documenting the assembly process. Simple and easy. TCL did a great job of making set-up easy and simple for anyone regardless of skill level. Like other portable units, the TCL offers Cooling, Fan, and Dehumidifying options. The TCL has the option of using the included clear tubing for draining, a regular garden hose, or if neither option is viable, allows the user the option to manually drain the condensate tank when needed. Great ideas. I really appreciate the water level monitor that will shut the machine off it you are manually emptying the condensate tank. This prevents the possibility of water overflowing and potentially destroying carpet or wood floors. Great addition TCL!! COOLING PERFORMANCE This really isn't a fair fight for the TCL. I am expecting way too much from the little A/C unit. Summer temps here can easily reach 110+ and with some humidity makes summer heat nearly unbearable. For testing, I rolled it out to my "man cave". A 2 1/2 car garage that has a double-size overhead door, a pedestrian door, a roll-up single door for a mower, and 2 single-hung vertical windows. Granted it is spray-foamed, but with a car and tools, the 720+ square foot garage is a lot for a device rated at 450 square feet, not to mention all the leaks associated with garage doors. All of my car repairs and hobbies get worked on out here. When I first rolled in the TCL, it was a sultry 84.6 degrees. Within 2 hours, the little TCL has dropped temps over 3 degrees, and this is with a full-size truck still cooling down from a late afternoon errand. Not bad at all. Quite impressive. After several hours, temps had dropped 7 degrees. While the little TCL was working its hardest, it didn't sound or act like it was overburdened. It kept chugging along. NEGATIVES There's no other way to say it. TCL rushed this product to market too soon. The bugs are NOT worked out yet. I tried both my Google Pixel 10 Pro and my 11th gen iPad to set-up the TCL. Finally, after a legitimate 10 different attempts (8 Android / 2 iOS), I finally got the TCL to connect to Google Home. Unfortunately, even though Google Home reports that the device has been successfully added, it ALWAYS shows offline. I can confirm that it has successfully connected to my Wi-Fi and Google Home knows the A/C unit is there, but it doesn't report back properly. To make matters worse, the TCL Home app is useless for this device. Yes, you can set-up the A/C by starting with the TCL Home app, but when you do, the TCL app takes you immediately back to Google Home for connection and set-up. The window vent is adequate, but not the greatest. There is no insulating value, consisting entirely of thin plastic. Also, I can't get a great fit in my windows. My other portable unit has a better designed vent and fits my windows much better than the TCL. Granted, TCL includes a generous amount of foam insulation to help seal the vent to the windows frame, it still doesn't fit my windows channels very well. The shutters contribute to this problem, making the hoses nearly impossible to go over their frame and into the window channel. Not to mention, like my other portable unit, the exhaust hose is not insulated. I took a reading off the exhaust hose, and it was at 126 degrees. That is just heat radiating into the surrounding environment. FINAL THOUGHTS As far as cooling performance, I am very pleased. It is doing a great job at cooling a space nearly 50% larger than this unit is rated for. The TCL is nicely quiet on night settings and low speeds but is still very noticeable on high working at 100% like it is right now. Where the TCL falls short is its smart home features. TCL touts having compatibility with all the big Assistants, but I can't get it to work. I've tried with numerous devices to try and make it happen. Luckily, the included remote does a good job at controlling the device and it was a good transmit distance, easily reaching across a room. I would like to see a backlight for the remote, though. Would I buy the TCL? Yes, if I needed a hardworking and efficient portable unit and didn't care about the smart home features, it would be a no-brainer. However, if those features were important to my purchase, I would wait until TCL can get the bugs ironed out of the firmware first. While I will give it a recommended rating, I can only give it 3-stars with the above caveat. Should TCL get the bugs worked out of the firmware, this is easily a 5-star product. RECOMMENDED

I just recommended a TCL TV to a friend a few weeks ago and was pretty surprised to see that they have gotten into the portable A/C market. Given this model is a 10K BTU, dual-hose inverter A/C unit, I couldn't pass up the chance to review one. I have been looking for a dual hose model to replace the single hose 8K BTU unit that I have. Since this is an inverter unit, I figured it would do well at keeping my room comfortable without being too powerful, and that has held true for the last week. #Unboxing and first impressions# This unit came in slightly larger than my older 8K unit but it is still pretty compact. Getting it out of the box was pretty easy - just removed the packing straps and the box separates from the bottom piece, making it super easy to lift the unit out. There are handles on both sides. Prepping the unit took no time at all. The hoses are long enough and flexible enough that the TCL A/C unit doesn't need to sit directly in line with the window, which is a nice surprise. #Using the A/C# After getting the hoses connected to the window adapter and plugging the unit in, it was a breeze (sorry) to get the TCL air conditioner up and running. The unit has touch buttons on the top panel, which were a little difficult to press, but I don't imagine I'll actually use them much now that I have the unit connected to wifi/matter. The remote worked well from many angles and across the room. Setting it up in Matter (so far I've only used the official TCL app) was perhaps the easiest matter device I've used so far. The TCL app doesn't really expose any extra modes that you can't do via the remote or buttons on the unit itself, but it does everything you can do with either of those inputs just fine. One of the really nice things about this unit is that it's got an inverter compressor. These are really nice for being "soft starting", in that they don't seem to require the huge in rush of amps that an older compressor requires to get running. That makes it easier to run in a room with computers or even a mini fridge without causing breakers to trip when the thing fires up. Typical running load seemed to be about 580 watts with the unit set to 72 degrees in room that started at 74. The temperature started coming down immediately from a comfort perspective. The inverter compressor doesn't seem to operate at any super low power settings, though. It just cuts off once it gets about a degree below the setpoint and then comes on (with the aforementioned slow-ish ramp-up) periodically to maintain the temperature, usually right back up to about 580 watts. My only real complaint with this TCL A/C unit is that it's louder than I expected. Given the description as being "Ulta-Quiet" and the advertised 42 db minimum sound level, I was expecting it to be able to stay quiet when it wasn't running at full tilt. Unfortunately, once the compressor kicks on it becomes a very noticeable noise, much louder than most window units even if it is quieter than the portable AC unit I'm replacing. I guess that's just a fact of life with having a compressor inside a thin and light plastic cabinet like this. #Final thoughts# If you need a powerful portable A/C unit to use where a window unit or mini split just isn't possible, this TCL 10K unit seems like a great fit. It's much more efficient than single hose portable units, and the Matter setup was fantastic. While it's louder than I would like, it is slightly quieter than my older 8K BTU portable unit. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone needing a portable air conditioner that's easy to use.

TCL slowly crept up the TV quality ladder in the past decade. I remember those washed up screens a while back, and now, their screens compete with the big wigs of TV quality. That drive for quality manufacturing is showing in this AC unit. The case and the design is simple-- it's nothing outrageous or new. Even the components such as the tubes and window parts are not different. But each item works great. The tubes attach perfectly to the back. The hose thread lock in place. The unit is not that heavy. I could easily carry it (not out of the box) around. The TCL app is not any different either. It is easily recognizable like most other IOT apps. The instructions are easy to follow and matter integration to my Google Home is fast and effective. It recognizes the device in my system and the unit acts like a regular wall thermostat. I can set automations and it responds promptly. I have set the unit at family room to start when the temperature hits 85 degrees. Though the remote acts like any other, it's a smarter AC unit unlike my older ones and, it is responsive when operated using the app. What's great about this is, though I know it's supposed to be placed in a room around 450 sq ft, is it cools my 600 sq ft TV area with ease. Each time it hits 85 degrees, in an hour it cools the room by 8 degrees (and continuous until whatever temp is set it). Maybe because I do not have high ceilings, but still, the ability to cool the room in a quick time is great. It has not been over 100 degrees in CA yet in the past week, so I have yet to find out at that time. It is quiet too. It does not have that low vibration rumble that these units have when it's pushing cold air out. It operates like a window split type-- cool, quiet, composed. My only complaint about it is, the window components need one more panel because I use it on a vertical sliding door, so I had to put a make shift cover (using a cutout of the box). Also, it needs more screws (that actually fit the holes) to keep the window panels in place. Other than that, the AC unit works like a dream. Like I said, even with my experience with its TVs, TCL does not do flashy things or super advanced tech, but when they do things, they do it right. They have been doing it right inch by inch and I think, with the performance of this AC unit, TCL is becoming one of those great brands to trust.

This TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner in White is a cooling machine, but has it pros and cons. In the box you get the TCL Q-Series Portable Air Conditioner, remote control with batteries, all the paperwork, the dual hoses, all you need for the window installation of the hoses including the weather stripping, insulation, and the panels that you will more than likely need to trim down to fit your window. Setup is moderately easy. The first step is to install the application. Then you need to set the air conditioner up before you connect the unit to the app, because the unit has to be on before you connect it to the app. Connecting the unit to the app wasn’t a problem, but for some reason, it kept disconnecting. I uninstalled it and restarted my phone, reinstalled it and have had no issues since. Operation of the air conditioner. I love how I can control it with my remote, with my phone or by talking to my Amazon Alexa, which is my preferred method now. There is nothing like laying in bed and not having to get up to turn off the air conditioner. I have the timer set, but I got cold earlier than expected. So, I just said, “Alexa, turn off the Air”, and she did! So, this air conditioner is very modern and high tech. I love that. The noise is not bad either. It’s not silent, but it’s not annoyingly loud either. It makes enough noise that it helps me sleep, and not too much noise that it keeps me awake. I don’t have to turn the tv up any louder than normal. This air conditioner has 3 settings and 2 fan settings. It’s plenty cold and it’s all good. The only cons is that I wish the app was better more stable, and I wish it was easier to install the hoses in the window. The way the panels are made, made it hard for me to adjust them and trim them properly. I got them in eventually, but it took me way longer than expected. I really think that the ones that zigzag and look like an accordion would be better and would be a better option for this type of installation, but that’s just my opinion. Other than those two things, this is a great unit and I’m sure I will get a lot of use out of it.

The TCL 10,000 BTU Q-series Ultra -Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Portable Air Conditioner is a mouth full to say, but it does a good job describing just exactly what this unit is. The TCL unit is an extremely quiet portable air conditioner that can easily be moved from one room to another in just a few minutes. This TCL unit is a three in one unit, meaning it can be used as an air conditioner, fan and a dehumidifier. The particular unit I have is rated to cool 450 square feet of space, meaning it is excellent for bed rooms and medium sized living areas. This unit uses a high efficiency designed and is advertised to save up to 47% in energy costs. The unit can be used via the app, which of course can be downloaded from your app store, by remote and by voice commands, all of which have worked very well for me so far. This unit also has a 24 hour timer and a sleep mode which you can use to limit run times and save even more on energy costs by cycling the unit off and on at times when you are home or away. There are a lot of features built into this unit and I have not had any issues with any of them. The unit is well built and well suited for its intended use. I guess, of all of the features that the TCL 10,000 BTU unit offers, the one I enjoy the most is the one you can't hear. The ultra-quiet design is a welcome feature, especially when you are trying to watch a show or if its in the bedroom and you are sensitive to noise when you sleep. Its not silent, I don't know of any units that are that quiet, but this one is quiet enough that you don't really notice it running. I have had other portable units and this one has been my favorite so far.

The TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner - White is easily up and running right out of the box. It is a 3-in-1 air conditioner, fan and dehumedifier, with a washable filter that will cut costs on replacement filters. The TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner - White is the perfect portable air conditioner for me, because I can move it, on its wheels, around to rooms without a window air conditioner to cool them down. The TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner - White produces a powerful blast of air to cool down my over heated rooms. Also, I can just use the speeds of the fan when I only need air circulation. The exhaust hose assembly installs easily, but there might be small air leakage after finished installation from not having a perfect seal. The length of the exhaust is long enough to reach most windows and it has great flexibility to get a perfect fit in the window panel. The TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner - White has a downloadable app or I can just use the remote control or even a voice controlled assistant to navigate commands. I cannot use the dehumidification mode, because I live in a desert city with low humidity levels causing dry air normally. The TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner - White serves its purpose of producing a strong burst of cold air to cool down any of my rooms and also allows me the ability to circulate already cool air throughout my room in a short time. I am happy that I have the TCL - 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner - White in my home.

I live in south Texas, so living without air conditioning is not an option. I've had my home's HVAC break down a couple times over the years and going days between fixes was pure misery. I've always wanted an option for not just back-up cooling, but to more efficiently cool just one room instead of keeping a 2300 sq ft house cool. This unit from TCL accomplishes both of these goals for me. In my home, overnight while we sleep, I've always felt we are wasting electricity cooling the whole upstairs and downstairs areas. So I've enjoyed the efficiency of keeping my HVAC off this past week in the evenings, saving on wear and tear and electrical costs. The 10,000 BTUs were more than enough to have me and my wife sleeping blissfully in the chilled air. And since I live in an HOA community, traditional window units are not an option for me. They are also an eye sore so a unit like this was perfect. Pros: - Easy to set-up/install - Multiple ways to control it (app, remote, touch display) - Quieter than other models I've seen in action - Compatible for both horizontal or vertical windows - The window slider kit works well to allow you to hook up the hoses and prevent warm air from leaking in - The wheels make the unit ultra-portable (it's a little heavy) so that I can easily move it to a room of my choosing - I thought the MSRP was reasonable for such an effective and powerful unit. If you go with a cheaper AC unit with lower BTU's, it may not get the job done. Cons: - None I can now enjoy peace of mind that in the event that my HVAC system is down for days or weeks, I have a plan and my family will not be a sweaty mess during that time. And I'm loving the ability to keep just one room extra cool for a great night's sleep. I'm very happy with this model from TCL!

I have been using the TCL 450-square-foot 10,000 BTU Q-Series Ultra-Quiet Dual Hose Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner for about a week, and it has been working great. I set it up in my home office, and it cools the room very well. The setup was straightforward, and I like that the design is compact enough to fit nicely without taking up too much space. It also comes with an app, but I personally prefer using the remote, which makes controlling the air conditioner quick and easy. What I really like about this unit is how efficiently and quietly it runs. The dual-hose design helps keep cool air in the room rather than letting hot air creep back in, so cooling feels faster and more consistent. The inverter technology also makes a big difference by avoiding the loud stopping and starting that some portable units have. It keeps the airflow smooth and steady, and it is quiet enough to use comfortably in my home office or even at night. Another feature I appreciate is the three-in-one operation, which cools, circulates air, and dehumidifies in a single unit. The Auto Swing feature helps distribute cool air evenly across the room, and I can also direct the airflow exactly where I want it. It is nice to know it is designed to save energy while still delivering strong cooling performance. Overall, this portable air conditioner has been a great addition to my space, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, efficient, and ultra-quiet cooling solution for a small to medium-sized room.

[PROS] Adequate Cooling: My use case for this machine was been for the upstairs which has been susceptible to AC issues and being overall hotter. The room is roughly 365 sq. feet which falls well within the supported range. The device did manage for perform admirably after hours of usage and was able to defend me from the warmer temps that the room sometimes experiences. Air circulated properly and the machine worked continuously without any hiccups. Quiet Performance: The TCL Q Series Smart Air Conditioner does output what I would describe as the most minimal, but necessary amount of noise possible for a device of its size. It's not virtually silent, but it's more than tolerable when in use. Conveniences: With the remote, I'm able to adjust settings quickly. With the app, I'm able to do the same and monitor as well without needing physically get up and reconfigure anything. [CONS] Setup Woes: Physical and software setup was a hassle. I did need to do some trimming to get the unit slotted in the window kit affixed. The seal is okay, but it took a little work to get it fully adjusted. The biggest issue was trying to get the device connected to my phone. It took several attempts for it to be recognized, but I eventually got it working. [CONCLUSION] Does it cool? Yes. Did it work for me? Yes. Will it work for you? It depends. Outside of troubleshooting, my experience was positive. It made my room cooler and was easy to operate with the remote and app once everything was connected. I didn't test it in a 450 sq. foot room, but it did for roughly 365 sq. ft.

I have a lot of different problems with my AC at house number two. I have an even bigger problem with what I now call my server room with all my computers admitting more BTU heat than 10 humans hugging together. Furthermore, you need a little something to get you over to hump. Not to mention when I'm in there trying to work. It doesn't help when the heat rises faster than Florida heat which is very impressive. This little TCL miracle worker here with a built-in app is exactly what the doctor ordered. It definitely cools off the space equivalent to a master bedroom. I dare say some of it gets outside of the room which is a good thing. That means it's trying its best to compensate for the lame AC that I keep having to get fixed. Even after the AC is fixed, I'm going to keep this thing around to keep this room cool. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a high BTU heat problem because it definitely solves it. I imagine it would be good as a space AC as well. For my Florida people this is a must for that little area or that room and our very long house too far away for our AC to reach. Perfect. Definitely love this unit and recommend it to anybody who thinks they need to be just a little cooler.
