I've always loved the home theater experience. I'm also a lifelong gamer. Typically, for my main 4K TV, the price I had to pay for amazing picture quality was noticeable amounts input lag. No more with this TV. I can play my Xbox One X games in all their 4k glory with what feels like zero input lag. I've had to use specific gaming PC monitors in the past for this level of responsiveness. Even classic games, such as 1991's Super Mario World played via my Nintendo Switch - possibly the greatest test for input lag due to the low resolution of the source material - plays just as responsively as I remember. The picture quality is also excellent. Multiple versions of HDR support was an especially welcome addition. Easily the best TV I have ever purchased. Full disclosure, at the time of writing and purchase, I am employee at Roku. Though I did not personally work on this TV. Kinda wish I had though given how great it turned out.

So I should preface this review by saying this is my first “smart” enabled tv...having a Roku system built in is a great, convenient feature...now for the picture: I wish I had an OLED side by side to compare it to because to my eye, this set is on its own level and I’m not sure I’d be able to distinguish...the blacks are inky black and the tv gets exceptionally bright (which is a plus as this is in our upstairs family room with plenty of ambient light). Dolby Vision and HDR content is breathtaking. I thought out of the box, it looked pretty good but I’ve made a few settings adjustments on my own and think it looks really exceptional now. The TCL/Roku self calibrating app was really simple to use. I’ve never had a set professionally calibrated so I couldn’t tell you if it would be worth going above the free calibration app feature or not. I didn’t think the sound from the tv speakers was bad but I’m a little hard of hearing as is so I added the Sonos Arc soundbar and that really makes a nice difference. Lastly, at $999 on sale, I simply don’t think there’s a better value right now if you’re in the range for a 65” set

I bought this tv on sale for $999 vs original price of $1999, which barely fit my budget but has been so worth it. The pros Beautiful picture Great sound Easily use my fire stick with it The picture is so amazing it’s worth mentioning twice. I sent my bf a picture of it and it looks like it could be used in a commercial for advertising how gorgeous the picture is. The cons Roku Can’t see the picture well at an angle (which is the trend for most flat screen TVs). Remote control use seems to have a short distance.

In the last 6 weeks, I have bought 2 TCL Series 8 TV's, one was a 75 inch for my living room, as well as this Series 8 65 inch for my office. I also ordered a 3rd TCL TV today, a series 4 75 inch TV for my son's room. As for both this Series 8 65 inch and my TCL series 8 75 inch, these are flat out incredible TV's. Prior to this purchase, I would have never considered TCL because of their reputation for entry level TV's. But when I began shopping for a new TV and started reading various reviews by the very picky audiofiles, TCL's entry into the high end TV market, via the 8 series was making a big splash. Everyone was going nuts over this TV, and I now know why. First, it's built like a sherman tank, and the ROKU interface is outstanding. And as for picture, I've never seen anything like it, outside of OLED TV's. This TV is the closest to OLED that I have ever seen. I'm not one to write reviews, but I am so satisfied with both of my TCL Series 8 TV purchases, that I felt compelled to write a review

This TV is the best of both worlds. I was able to catch this TV on sale which made it affordable and the quality of materials and picture you get is amazing. While content that supports HDR or Dolby Vision isn't quite OLED levels it is really really close. There is some minimal halo effects I've seen so far in black scenes but that's just me being picky. The 65 inch model was heavier than what I read on the box so be careful mounting it.

After a lot of research, I decided to go with the TCL. First of all, the picture is like looking into the face of God! Very bright and vibrant. The smart TV features work very well. Just as impressive as the picture, is the sound. It is loud, clear and full of bass. The bad things about this TV are that it does not do motion well. I turned on all the motion smoothing settings that are built into the TV, but it still struggles. The other negative thing is it resets when switching between inputs sometimes. Bottom line on this TV is that it is great at the price I paid ($1000), but not worth the $2000 retail price.

Waited a month for it to come in stock - and totally worth it! The reviews on all the tech sites and the hype from CNET were correct - this TV is SO bright, while also getting amazingly black. I was also surprised at how heavy and solid the TV is, feels very premium, the stand will make a great doorstop since I'm mounting the TV.

Returned the Vizio PX Quantum not because the picture was poor but because the input issues it has. Anytime switching inputs, the screen would go black with at a 5 second delay. This TCL still delays but it’s much snappier and the picture is on par or better than the Vizio PX Quantum. The display may not be quite as bright but the motion on it is fantastic and the colors are not as saturated. Definitely more realistic and the blacks don’t wash out quite as much. It also upscale a non 4k content nicely. Can’t wait til the NBA picks up again cause I know in sports mode this TV is going to shine. If you can find it on sale and in stock, do yourself a favor and pick up a set.

I found this gem on sale for 50% off and they had an open box model and I paid less for it than I paid for my Visio p series. The picture is great, black levels are very deep and almost no blooming! I’ve been watching all kinds of content and I’m very pleased.
So only had this Television for 3 days, and we have watched movies, live sports, and Television Shows; you could say we are average Consumers. I've always been a Samsung fan, this is my 1st purchase that was not that brand. I have to admit cost was a major consideration in this purchase. All I can say is... Wow. This is a fantastic Television. The picture quality is outstanding. TCL hit it out of the park on this one, homerun. Picture quality and for the price? I have no regrets on this Television. Keep doing your research on televisions, TCL is right up there in quality in my opinion.

I have no complaints with this television. The 4K programming from Netflix looks great on it as well as sports and blu-ray movies. Plenty of hdmi ports and other inputs . The only thing I would change is the remote I would like numbers on the remote to make it easier to navigate the spectrum app. But that is just a minor annoyance. 4.5/5 !

Very bright and clear picture. I'm familiar with roku's operating system and that makes this TV so much nicer and easy to navigate..

The blacks are so black that they are Indistinguishable from an OLED panel. TCL has hit this one out of the park. Bought it when it was on sale for $999 and it’s worth every penny and then some!!!
