TCL qm8 is fabulous. The colors are incredible. I mean so colorful and vibrant, simply beautiful. The picture is so crystal clear. Movies are so much more fun to watch on this TV. 4k and up recordings are absolutely stunning, almost mesmerizing. Then with the super Google TV and 3 free months of Apple TV, what more could you ask for. Skip the Oled TV's, buy this TV, you'll be just as happy and for a fraction of the cost. Really beautiful TV, hard to stop watching it. Buy it you'll love it.

I (43/m, decently tech savvy) bought this during the Labor day sale and it is very hard to beat as far as value is concerned. High end picture without the high end price tag. Pros: Beautiful hd/4k picture. Blacks that rival oled. Colors are vibrant and look pretty accurate to my eye. This tv gets insanely bright. I believe this is either the brightest or almost the brightest tv on the market. Gaming on the xbox x is impressive. The sound is actually pretty good for a tv. I was quite suprised by it. We may upgrade to a sound bar at some point but it isnt necessary, imo. Cons: Rainbow reflection due to the anti-glare coating from our dining room light w/6 of those led old time style lights. Very, very average upscaling from low bit content. With that said, streaming the same content through the Xbox X it looks much better. I would recommend a streaming device that will upscale for the tv. Some of the background detail in bright scenes can lose some of the detail but that is being nit picky and doesnt take away from the overall experience.

These tv is simply amazing, its very bright. Its has the the most amazing 3d graphics. Everything is so smooth when running a game or movie. I bought an S95b Samsung oled tv last year, these tv is so much better in so many ways. The blacks are very black, zero blooming, super high contrast. And the price is half the price of a oled tv, without any burn in headaches. Honestly just buy these tv. Its worth ever penny & i will be buying these tv again because its so incredible. Google’s operating system is also great & you have so many setting you can change when playing ps5 with the new game bar. The built in speakers sound great! When your in a game, it makes the action so much better. Tcl has completely changed the game with the price point & quality of there products. I Highly recommend these tv for any gamer on xbox or ps5 its a 10/10

I'm glad I didn't listen to my friends that obviously don't know any better. TCL is nothing my Chinese BS so they say yet they have Samsungs and Sony's. Good chance they are all made in the same place. Anyways. Definitely the best bang for my buck imo. The Google TV experience is buttery smooth compared to a Google TV Chromecast and nivida shield. Better than a Sony twice the price? I don't know and don't care. TV is very bright and visible in a bright room. Looks very elegant IMO. Haven't had any issues with it. I bought a surround sound with it so I haven't gave the TV's speakers a real chance for sound. But it did sound decent from the first start up. The remote feels cheap but services it's purpose. Nice layout and short cut buttons with half I actually use. I know it's real estate that companies pay for im sure. The blacks are black. Little to no ghosting. Everything is very sharp. My girlfriend was blown away with the picture quality. Overall we are very impressed. If I could go back and buy it again I wish I would have bought it sooner even if that meet it was 300 more than the price I got it at. Must have those holiday for anyone still reading.

For the money, this Mini LED TV can't be beat in my opinion. Deep, OLED-like blacks, unbelievable contrast, and so bright I often have to dial it back if it's not particularly sunny or bright out. Google TV interface is easy to use and much more responsive than my 3 year old Sony. Love the remote... CEC works well, you can use the remote to operate anything connected to the TV. Speaking of which, this TV comes with 2 HDMI 2.1 ports with 120hz/144hz refresh rates as well as 2 additional standard HDMI ports (one of these is an eARC). You won't NEED a soundbar with this TV. Full stop. I have one and enjoy my Atmos sound bar, but the TV delivers massive sound for an in set system. All around, fantastic TV, best I've ever owned. Note: you may have to play panel lottery as I did... 2nd unit was aces.

Took me about an hour to get all the picture settings correct. Make sure you reigster the unit as you get an extra 90 days extension on the warranty. TCL also had protection plans that are decently priced. I was able to setup the tv all on my own so you can definetley do it yourself if you order the 65 inch version. Microsoft Flight Simulator looks spectactular on this panel! The XBOX Series X has all the checkmarks in video settings now with this tv. I will say this is a heavier TV though so if your nimble you may need some help. Initially i did notice it not saving my settings but that has seemed to resolve itself.

Awesome TV for the price. Got it on sale for $899 and the picture quality is excellent. Colors are vivid and PS5 looks great. I don't use the google TV (have an Apple TV) but HDR and Dolby Vision are excellent. This TV is bright as well! Great bang for the buck!

Let me say that this TV is fantastic to look at the picture quality. It hands down produces amazing colors, brightness and black that are on par with some of the best OLEDs. Even having the picture brightness settings at 50% is still brighter than many TVs at 100% and the ability to fine tune the TV to the perfect color, contrast and brightness is very comprehensive with many picture settings to apply. When considering this TV can produce a picture in line with OLEDs that cost upwards of $1000 more for the very same size, makes this TV a very good deal. SO why 2 stars? No one will ever tell me that this is a bad TV, especially from the picture quality and the price. But that is where it stops for me. I am tone deaf and have moderate to severe hearing loss. I hear low tones just fine (like bass), but higher tones (like treble) are difficult. This TV only has 6 pre-set sound choices, and they all have a fair amount of bass levels (two are very high levels of bass) and not enough treble. Two of the choices are not even possible for me. Then there is one other sound inclusion in the intelligent sound settings that does very little. Not being able to fine tune the sound after a few days of trying it made it a near deal breaker. Why is there no adjustment for bass/treble settings? I have never had a flat screen TV to not have that feature. So, I called tech support, and they did not know that fine tuning was not possible (or at least that I what I ascertained form the techs). I was on the phone for over 30 minutes trying to figure out a sound and then they stated that is all the TV offers in the presets. But then one tech told me that streaming apps have their own sound setting adjustments and I was floored. First off, that is patently untrue; Netflix, Max, etc DO NOT have separate sound settings for their apps. So OK, I get the attempt to help but saying things that are not true even after pointing them out not to be true was seriously off putting. Then there is Bluetooth. I have earbuds I thought I could just use to offset my lack of hearing and paired with the TV. But the sound synchronization was wildly off and no amount of adjusting the sound delay helped the sound synchronize with the mouth of the characters. After messing with the TV for a few days I thought about reading the manual so I can get a better idea on the remote which is clunky to use (no defined numbers on it) and takes too many clicks to get where I want to be. One cannot even exit the sound settings menu without clicking the back button 4 times. So, trying to use the manual didn’t work, because there isn't one yet, nowhere on the site to download even, and tech support stated that they don't have one. I was like, “it is going back in return to Best Buy”. So, I tried to buy a warranty from TCL and couldn’t after registering the TV but it was nowhere to be found. I talked to a tech and they said it is right there in the website (it isn't) and then they gave me the link TCLProtect (they actually did not know the link, and had to take minutes to find it), which just asks me to register the TV to get there (I had already registered the TV). So, I did that again (apparently one can register the same unit repeatedly) but would always get right back to the beginning with no warranty to buy. There was nothing the tech could do. That was it for me. I am bummed because the TV is outstanding looking and for the money, it is awesome. But if this is the kind of support I am to get, then that experience was the ultimate dealbreaker for me. Hoping TCL does better than just make great looking TVs. But for now, I cannot buy a TV that doesn’t have better settings, a better remote, tech support that has some knowledge base and a warranty to buy when one is ready s to purchase it. But again, the TV is fantastic to see, that is not debatable. However, I will still recommend this TV if one wants a great picture.

Excellent TV for console gaming. It has a bright crisp picture with a high refresh rate perfect for the PS5.

TV looks really good. Went on the wall very easily. Nice and bright. Haven’t got into it deeply yet, but it auto dims when you turn lights off.

This TV is beautiful. Colors are great with very little adjustments needed. Flip it to Movie picture setting and it looks great. Can’t speak to the sound because I have mine hooked up to a Sonos Beam. TV start up is super quick, google TV is snappy and tv performs great in movies and gaming. My only complaint currently is occasionally it doesn’t seem to detect HDMI inputs even though my Apple TV’s signal is turning on the TV. Not sure if this is a software update fix or a bad cable as I have yet to experience it enough times to figure it out. Otherwise this TV is a phenomenal value with image quality and brightness up there with the big name flagships.

After looking for a 4k 120hz tv to replace my Vizio i landed on this TCL. Great picutre and remote functionality. Easily the brightest tv ive ever owned too.

I am thrilled with this purchase. The picture quality is beyond stunning - I was floored when I saw it on display at the store and at home it looks just as good. The sound quality is good but I did end up buying a soundbar with subwoofer because the built-in speakers and built-in subwoofer aren't as amazing as the picture quality.

Great picture, easy to operate, and extremely lightweight for being 65”.

This is a high-end TV that has a lot to offer at a great price. OLED of course is the current king of picture quality but can be expensive, susceptible to burn-in, and can’t get quite as bright as a set that is backlit. A TV with mini-LED technology like this one is an excellent alternative as the thousands of local dimming zones can display darkened scenes that have eye-searing brightness at the same time with very little if any blooming. The TV is a true flat panel lacking any extra “bulge” on the back like you typically might see on cheaper sets. There is a subwoofer on the back that also sits nearly flush. There are plastic covers for the power adapter and HDMI connections that help to keep things tidy. I opted to put the TV immediately on the wall so I didn’t use the included stand, which includes a heavy metal base plate. The instructions call for using M6x12mm screws to wall-mount it which I thought were short considering how thick my mounting bracket was. I found that the two top holes let me put in M6x20mm which satisfied the wife in that it shouldn’t come crashing down. Build quality overall is good, but not as good as what I’ve seen from premium brands. The plastic covering the back has a lot of flex which made getting the screws into the mounting points more frustrating than it should have been. Also, while we were moving the TV to the wall a tiny screw fell out of somewhere onto the floor. However, I completely forgot about any of those issues as soon as I turned it on. Clearly, you are mostly paying for the excellent display panel here. The picture quality is superb, especially if you are watching content from a high-quality source. It is very close to my OLED, super bright. Anything with Dolby Vision or HDR10+ really shows off what this panel can do. In the Baby Groot dance scene of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 the array of bright colors just pop while also doing an outstanding job of accurately displaying shadows. I watched Avatar The Way of Water for the first time through Disney+ and came away impressed. I don’t have a way to measure it, but the peak brightness is supposed to be up to 2000 nits and I believe it. Scenes with the sun or other high intensity light sources in the background got very bright. Blacks are as good as you are going to get without upgrading to OLED but they will start to turn a bit gray when viewed off-center. When Dolby Vision IQ is engaged you’re not able to change many picture settings as the TV self-calibrates. The Google TV interface is familiar to me because I have it on two other TVs in the house, but I noticed it is a lot snappier than I’m used to. It is a popular smart platform that gets updated frequently and supports every streaming platform including Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime so there is no need to add a streaming box or stick. TCL also provides a collection of free streaming channels like Game Show Central or one that plays Baywatch episodes. This is an excellent TV for gaming as it supports HDMI 2.1, 120hz, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and variable refresh rate (VRR) with FreeSync support. It has 2 HDMI ports that support 120hz, and HDMI 1 will support 144hz with some serious caveats. According to the manual, it will only support 144hz when VRR is enabled. I tried with both my RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 with G-Sync enabled and I could never select 144hz as the refresh rate as that option never was available. However 120hz worked as expected and honestly at 4K there’s not much difference so consider it a bonus if it works for you. It ticks every box on the Xbox Series X 4K compatibility screen and games play beautifully. I typically don’t take much stock in the sound quality of a TV but on this model they are some of the best built-in speakers I’ve ever heard. I’m a sucker for bass so I’m guessing it’s the 20w subwoofer that is making the difference. If you have a full home theater system then by all means hook it up, but if you only have a 2.1 soundbar I’d seriously consider checking out the built-in sound first, it may surprise you. I’m also a fan of the remote, it’s big enough so the kids won’t lose it and it lights up when you pick it up. It supports Google Assistant and Voice Search. Pros: Beautiful Mini-LED 4K Screen Great for Gaming (HDR, 120hz, ALLM, VRR) Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, and HDR10+ Built in Sound is Best I’ve Heard Google TV with Voice Control Lighted Remote Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast Support Support for Homekit, Google Assistant, and Alexa Cons: Build Quality could be Better Subtle changes to blacks when viewing off-center Overall – this may be the best mini-LED on the market in terms of what you get for the price.

Picture is amazing. While checking the delivery time on the day of delivery I realized the price of the tv on the website was now $200 cheaper. A call to customer service and they immediately gave me the new sale price before the tv was delivered. Very happy.

I have had this TV for a week now, and I absolutely love it. I am glad that i did my research and chose this model. Watching movies makes it feel like you are standing eight there.
