Where to Begin, right? Let me start off by saying welcome and if my direct points can help one person finalize their thoughts on spending then this was worth my time. TV Model: TCL 65QM8K This was the TV I really knew I needed: OPERATING SYSTEM: Google TV (Excellent) * 1st time owner of this operating system / user interface. + Select Wired or Wifi, Can't do both. + Check TV's updates, (latest is Ver 313 Android 14) + Keep your favorite apps updated. + Google Voice assistance is so needed and very Useful * Turn off all Eco picture settings before diving in. PICTURE: This is why I made this decision. (Superb) * Google firmware vers 313 really provided an outstanding out of the box job. It will dl on 1st day of powering up. So I look fwd to future update improvements and new additions + Your Eyes & Emotion will make you relive your day of watching 4th or July Fireworks. It's that incredible feeling that makes it all worth it. + Bright, Colorful, Various Picture Modes & Preferences + Dolby Vision, HDR10+, SDR, Console. PC + Youtube videos for specific picture content will amaze you + Upgrade your streaming 4K providers, Netflix, Disney+ etc. + Cable TV, I suggest use a external streaming device. You can always finetune your visual settings. Just remember you limited to lower quality imagery. But you can certainly achieve satisfactory status for all Movies, News, Live Sports & TV shows. - I don't use over the air antenna although I should try cause this model offers free over the air High Def content. Connectivity: HDMI & Devices. (Better than Good) - Should have had four 2.1 Hdmi ports instead of port #1 & #2 + eARC port #4 is for your soundbar / receiver SETTINGS: Don't be afraid, Welcome & Test your Choices + It ok to visit more than once, don't be a stranger + It's ok to feel overwhelmed at 1st glance or use + Read, Learn, Try, Enable/Disable Move buttons, + Make Mistakes, Challenge your curiosity + Factory Reset is welcomed and Redoing will be Satisfying. * Time spent is Time worth. TV AUDIO (Better than most, but your ears deserve more) * In this day and age streaming sites and playing discs offer so much more than stereo. Immerse yourself with SOUND. + External speaker source is highly recommended. - TCL has to show actual numbers when +/- volume. It's a huge disappointment not to automatically visualize it, but you can ask Google and it will tell you where your set volume sound is actually at. QUALITY & PERFORMANCE: (Impressive) QM8K is Marquee + The build is certainly a sky jump over the QM7K + Performance wise don't let QM7K (great tv by the way) owners downplay the all around seriousness of the QM8K by saying it's not much of an increase. It's just a way to solidify reasonings and bending of wallet. Overall: Im all bout QD-MiniLED QM8K * I would not think twice of what this price has offered. I have nothing but enjoyment using this brand and upgraded model. Best part is I'm still learning what hidden power(s) I can unleash and what TCL/Google has instore for future firmware wise. + Is there better TV's out there? Yes sure, but not for the price and all around performance you actually will be receiving + As a Bestbuy plus member, I will be adding my Geek Squad 5 year protection really soon cause investing and resting your tech worries is just added comfort to your health. REGRETS: I didn't get the 75" * No I'm Serious, Don't be like me if you have the space and the wallet don't even hesitate. The 75" will outperform this 65" in more ways than you think. B-EZ and Happy Holidays PS. The 5 images are captured from Mobile> QM8K> Cable SDR form. So again, embrace and welcome your settings. The more you visit them the more easier it will become which will lead to bigger and better visuals.

You will be amazed by the picture quality. Tv's that are on par cost 2x to 3x more. Use the advance video settings to adjust the picture to your preferences. we all see things differently. One minor hick up that prevents me from leaving a 5 star review are two software glitches, 1) When using the center button to navigate channels the operation is in reverse. When you press up the channels advance down and when you press up the channels advance. 2) There a "FREE" channels that you can access, however to do so you have tune into a poorly sourced signal, wait for the TV to time out, and then select "FREE" CHANNELS. Why? The "FREE" section the in channel guide will not allow access either. Is it me or is it the software? Attached you will find pics of the problem. If a signal is weak a prompt is given to select FREE CHANNELS or SCAN. Upon rescanning nothing changes. But if you select FREE, you are presented with a new level of hidden channels. TCL?

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The QD-Mini LED technology on this 65-inch model makes a massive difference—the blacks are deep, contrast is pin-sharp, and the brightness level easily handles a sunlit room without annoying glare. Colors look vibrant and lifelike right out of the box.

Bright, colorful, and has a very good contrast. I got it for my living room that has three huge windows. And it does not disappoint. It can easily overcome the sunlight hitting the room and is very vivid. If you watch in a dark room or can prevent direct light from hitting TV consider OLED but this one is better for very bright rooms daytime viewing.

I was impressed by the image quality and the brightness; all of that, combined with the price, made this a great deal. I definitely recommend it.

I am happy with the tv for the sale price. It has good sound and picture. I would not want to spend too much more than qm7, as it not really noticeable better with standard content. This tv also does not to great with poor quality content, my much older cheaper tcl does a better job on items not in HD, but with full resolution content, it is very good. I wish the sound leveling was better, but it better than my other tvs, but still cannot hear voices without obnoxiously loud commercials and sound effects. I paid $800 like new open box, I dont think is worth more than that over a qm7 or even qm6. The bright room viewing is much improved over my budget tvs, but not as great as I expected, but considering the about the brightest tv you can buy, i dont there is anyway to do better. I do really like this tv. I cannot see a reason to buy a tv over 2k when this option exist. Does have better than standard bass with the subwoofers. I like the tv for the price for sure, best value for upper range picture, but is it needed? If this was not a special deal, qm7 is probably the optimal choice.

This TV is absolutely amazing! It was easy to set up and could be done by 1 strong person, but I would recommend a helper. The setup was easy and the contrast, black levels, and vibrant colors are perfect out of the box. This TV can go head to head with an OLED screen. I’m happy we purchased this flagship model for at least a decade of premium TV viewing. The Bang & Olfsen sound system was better than our stand alone sound system added to the old TV setup, so we prefer the integrated sound now.

TV is great, only issue which is more of a general issue is on a bigger TV dark scenes are more grainy, but this has more to do with filming than the TV. Games and modern 4k are beautiful. Fantastic brightness during the day. Wish there were better built in tools for audio sync with sound bar.

Amazing TV. Sound is too quiet though. Not as punchy as the audio on newer premium Hisense TV. OTA works well. I get good high quality feed from my TV antenna. Gaming is superb, and the low input lag is amazing. Can't feel any delay. I overall recommend this TV.

I had a Sony Bravia but it was bought in 2019 and was only a 6hz panel. While that TV is still great I caught this on sale for 1300 and it is worth the money. Excellent picture and gaming features. While the sound is okay I would still recommend a sound bar. Added pictures after calibration.

I made a good decision purchasing this tv the colors are amazing when gaming and watching NFL also the sound system this TV has is awesome it get loud if you want it to. You really don’t need a sound bar. This tv is for my room but I’m going to get a bigger one for my living room

WOW. Did I mention WOW? The colors on this TV pop. Bright and beautiful colors. Amazing colors. That is the first thing you notice. Black levels are great too and make the colors pop. Viewing was still great from other viewing angles too. We installed this on our existing wall mount and it worked fine. Lots of room for wall mount configuration. You will need 2 strong people to lift the box and install the TV on a wall mount – it weighs about 50 lbs. and is big. The power cord is on the left side of the TV (when looking at it from the front). It even reached the floor wall mounted. Our old TV was on the right side and a shorter cord. The metal bezel around the edge is very minimal and allows for the TCL Zeroborder. It makes the screen really stand out and not like you are just looking at a TV. Viewing was great from other viewing angles too. There are 4 HDMI ports (2 support HDMI 2.1), an Ethernet, USB-A 3.0, USB-A 2.0, coaxial cable and an optical audio out for connecting. You can also connect your headset via Bluetooth. Movie mode was optimal for viewing almost everything. There are several other modes to try; Sports mode was also stunning. The refresh rate (144 Hz) is excellent. Another nice feature is that it upconverts old TV shows and movies and really enhances them. Great for watching MeTV. The only drawback was sound. It has 85W Bang & Olufsen speakers on the back side. But to really hear the TV you need the volume over 50%. Our old TV was fine at 15%. The sound was very good but not great. Google Assistant and Alexa are built in. There is a auto game mode setting for gaming and it was very good. We only tried it for about an hour and really like it. There is a pop-up gaming bar. 144Hz is the max gaming rate. Some key specs: TCL Halo Control System and QD-Mini LED 4K UltraHD Resolution HDR ULTRA with Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, & HLG Up to HDR5000 Brightness Wi-Fi 6 Google Chromecast Built-in Auto Game Mode (ALLM) with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro The included remote works well and is easy to hold. Highly recommended. Did I mention that the colors pop?

I’ve been looking for a new TV for the last few months and the TCL 65” QM8k QD-mini LED QLED 4K UHD Smart TV is one of the most impressive units I’ve seen! Their Zeroborder design looks cool, but I’m a sucker for minimal bezels on most electronics. The color scheme is vibrant, bright, and punchy. The black levels are deep! I don’t think I’ve owned a TV that could really deliver blacks so well. I wall-mounted it on an adjustable mount, and it looks incredible in my living room. This was also the first time I was able to leverage eARC connectivity! High-quality audio output through a single HDMI cable makes using the built in smart features with my existing surround sounds system a breeze. Another plus for me is the high refresh rate. The TV handles gaming exceptionally well. The high refresh rate makes for a smooth gaming experience at up to 144hz. However, no product is without its flaws. While the motion handling is generally good, there were a few instances of slight motion blur during or choppiness with high speed scenes during streaming. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but it’s something to be aware of. I think this could probably be adjusted in the settings, but I haven’t had a chance to tweak those too much. I’m a huge fan of the TCL 65” QM8k. I think it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a high-quality TV with great features and integrated Google TV. Whether you’re streaming or gaming I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
