TCL has their new S60K 3.1 Soundbar with Subwoofer system available, and it doesn't disappoint. The box includes the soundbar, wireless subwoofer, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, HDMI cable, 2 AC power cords, mounting template with hardware, and quick user guide/paperwork. The soundbar comes with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty. If you want the same exact TCL soundbar/subwoofer system with but with 2 added rear satellite speakers, TCL has the S65K system available. PROS: ----------- * TCL claims 340W of power. After playback of music and movies on this soundbar, I. WAS. STUNNED. -- in a good way. I played various items in both my enclosed home office and also in my main theater room. - The office sounded better due to the size of system with respect to the room... bass was incredible. - The theater room sounded great, but you can definitely tell this soundbar should stay in its lane. Even though you can put it in a theater room, this is likely best used in a small to large room where audio is there to fill in the airwaves and not to be submersed in it. It has a great sound, but it's not a "top-tier" system for bigger areas. Bass was good, but still lacked in the theater room. * SOLID, quality construction. End caps with "TCL" inscribed looks great. * Built-in center channel for better/clear dialogue. * AI room calibration. This is starting to become standard for many sound bar systems since no 2 rooms are alike with shape and sound reverberation. * If connected via Bluetooth (BT), the TCL Home app can be used to pair up with the soundbar In the TCL app, there are some settings that can be changed instantly without using the remote. There is even a subwoofer control (in the app) that is not available via the remote. * Quality rubber feet on each end of the soundbar so as not to scratch up furniture if not mounted. * Can be mounted with hardware provided, including a paper wall mounting template to make it easy. A level, drill, and phillips head screwdriver are minimal tools that may be needed. * 4 Ports are provided: HDMI (eARC), Optical, AUX, and USB. Even though it only provides 1 HDMI port, I like the fact that it includes AUX as well. This is useful in some applications (ie.wired 3.5mm base for RF headphones). It's great that all 3 are included along with USB for low-power connections. * DIGITAL LIT-UP LCD PANEL on the front! (and in big letters) I love sound bars that use more than just multi-colored LEDs to indicate what's going on (power, volume levels, input indicator, etc). Thank you, TCL for including this as part of the soundbar specs! * When making changes in the Surround Mode, there is only a "blip" of empty space while switching to the new mode. This is great for hearing the difference quickly between modes without losing hardly any of the content, whether it's music or movies. * The 6.5" driver on the sub performs better than expected at this price point. It paired up with the soundbar instantly with no issues and went to sleep when the soundbar was put to sleep. The sub is smaller in stature but packs a nice punch especially if you set up your subwoofer settings in the app (not only increase "bass", but "subwoofer" power if you need more). * The VOICE feature can be turned ON/OFF in any mode via the remote/app. This allows the user to remain in MOVIE mode but still hear a bit better what's being said if voice audio is lacking. * After a few seconds, the LCD panel on the front of the bar turns off so it does not interfere with TV viewing - it's a pretty bright panel especially in a darkened room. CONS: ----------- * If the soundbar is BT'd to a TV, then the user is unable to connect via the TCL app to make adjustments on the fly using another device besides the remote (where the user has to cycle through each mode or level). Only 1 BT connection can be made at a time. * The soundbar does lack a few of the lower mid-range frequencies - those freqs you get before crossing over to the subwoofer. You don't really notice it much until you compare it to a quality receiver with quality components. But once you use it for an extended time, you tend to get used to it and not notice it as much. * The 5 buttons on top of the soundbar aren't used much; however, if they are, and the soundbar is pushed under a TV so the fronts are mostly flush, the buttons are then inaccessible because they are positioned near the rear on top of the soundbar. But this seems to be the case with many soundbars. This is definitely not a deal-breaker. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------- * Sub has a 6.5" woofer driver with a clear visual pass-through on the bottom of the unit (under the driver itself). This will allow sound to be ported a bit more in the front/rear configuration and not just facing down into carpet/flooring. * Approximate dimensions of the soundbar: 33.5"W x 2.5"H x 3.5"D at ~6 lbs * Approximate dimensions of the subwoofer: 8.6"W x 11.5"H x 13"D at ~10.5 lbs * I found STANDARD mode to be the most "surround"-based; however, it did not provide as much voice control. For most content, I felt MOVIE/GAME/SPORTS were all extremely similar and were my go-to default for nearly all content I played. * Unless you upgrade and get the rear speakers, you won't get the true rear sound. The 3.1 sounds great, but it is definitely not 5.1. * When I connected the soundbar via BT to my Samsung TV, I no longer had control of the volume via the TCL remote - I was only able to control the volume via the TV remote while connected. * When I downloaded the TCL Home app (official app in the Play Store), I entered my email address. When I got the confirmation email with the security code, it came from a GMAIL account. I thought this was extremely strange that a company would use a GMAIL account for account activation. This did not appear to be a hack or spoof email either, but TCL should be aware of this, if not already, and start using the TCL domain as the email address domain these notifications come from. CONCLUSION: ===================== I am thoroughly stunned and impressed with the quality and power of this system given it's sub-$200 price point. I was not expecting to hear what I heard. This soundbar will make nearly any TV sound better in almost any space except very large spaces and theater rooms where you'd expect better peripherals. The Dolby/DTS:X sound was incredible along with the paired subwoofer. BT was seamless, and the app made it easy to connect (after creating a TCL account) with this soundbar and future devices if I added more. I commend TCL for packing a lot of punch into this entry-to-mid-level soundbar. I enjoy the power and sound it provides, and I would highly recommend at this price point.

This is my first soundbar from TCL, and I chose it because it has a wireless subwoofer. Since I use a short throw projector instead of a traditional TV, I positioned the soundbar on the console below the projector and placed the subwoofer off to the side. A wall mounting kit is also included for mounted TVs. Setup was simple; just plug both units in and connect the soundbar to an eARC/ARC port on your input device with the included HDMI cable. Other input options include Bluetooth, optical, 1.8mm AUX, and even USB, but some features may not be available over these connections. Since the soundbar supports HDMI CEC, it powers on and off automatically with my projector and I can also control its volume using the projector’s remote. However, the included remote has other buttons for specific audio features like sound/night modes, AV sync adjustment, surround sound, AI Sonic, Voice enhancement, music playback controls, and treble and bass EQ. You can also control these settings from the TCL Home app by pairing the soundbar with your mobile phone over Bluetooth. The app is the only place where you can configure AI Sonic, which uses your smartphone’s microphone to measure and analyze the soundbar’s audio and automatically adjusts it based on your room configuration and where you are sitting, accounting for speaker distance, sound pressure level, and frequency response. This aims to deliver balanced and immersive sound to your sitting location and throughout the room, and you can create up to 3 individual profiles for different seating positions. For me, I didn’t find that enabling this feature changed my listening experience significantly; however, it may be that my living room is too small to have a noticeable impact as we are seated only 5.5 ft away from the console. When paired to the speaker over Bluetooth 5.3, there was no video to audio lag or sync delay, but if pairing with an older BT protocol, it has AV sync correction up to 300 ms if you need it. I did find that when adjusting the settings via the app while paired with my phone, I wasn’t able to hear the audio input from my TV through the soundbar, despite setting the source to HDMI eARC, until I disconnected from my phone. I was truly impressed with the sound quality from this entry-level sound system. It has three dedicated drivers and one tweeter that produces sound that is full and well-rounded with a wide sound stage when set to ‘standard’ mode, though it can sound a bit flat spatially. With virtual surround sound enabled, the 3.1 channel audio does impart a decent sense of depth and spaciousness, though it’s not as immersive as a true 5.1 channel system nor can it be expanded by adding rear satellite speakers. When listening to Dolby Atmos and DTS content, audio directionality and movement can clearly be identified as left, right, or center, though height and depth felt less accurately placed. The 6.5” driver subwoofer does a good job with low bass support, producing a nice rumble effect for frequencies in the 25-55 Hz range and a sense of fullness between 55-90 Hz, while dropping off thereafter. The volume on this sound bar is also quite powerful with a maximum output of 340 Watts. While its increments range from 0-99, setting it at 22 completely fills our 250 sq ft living room while 35 produces a room shaking club vibe; anything over 50 is probably unsafe for prolonged listening at close range, but might be well suited for projecting audio over a large distance or open space like a dance hall or outdoor space. As the sound was already deafening at 50, I did not attempt to push the speaker to its max volume, however, I did start to notice some muddying and distortion in both the high and low registers at that volume level. The voice enhancement feature works well and increases the volume of voices in both music and videos, however, the overall quality changes, narrowing and bringing forward the sound stage, so expect the audio to sound a bit boxier and enclosed with this feature enabled. Music mode places the audio farther away from the listener and adds reverb reminiscent to a stage performance, while movie mode boosts dialogue and low bass frequencies while widening the sound stage by pushing sound farther to the left and right. It’s able to perform these spatial adjustments thanks to TCL’s proprietary, curved Ray-Danz III acoustic reflectors and angled drivers. Overall, the soundbar greatly enhances the sound quality from my projector versus its built-in speakers. The sound is full, rich, and more expansive with the subwoofer adding in tons of bass support. It uses AI to adapt to a room’s conditions and your seat location, and the virtualized surround sound is dimensionally accurate and immersive. The ability to enhance voices is great, especially during noisy action scenes or low-volume dialogue. This sound system is unexpectedly powerful, with way more volume than we’ll ever use, and delivers a satisfying listening experience, whether you’re having movie night, listening to music, or just watching TV.

TL;DR: A wide‑sounding, immersive TCL S60K 3.1 Dolby Atmos sound bar with a punchy wireless subwoofer. Easy to set up, great for movies and gaming, and surprisingly cinematic thanks to TCL’s Ray‑Danz acoustic design. I personally love Atmos — it reminds me of a modern, updated THX experience — and this bar delivers that vibe well. SETUP: Setup is quick and easy. HDMI ARC handles most of the work, and the wireless subwoofer pairs automatically. Bluetooth pairing is simple, and AI Sonic Auto Room Calibration adjusts the sound to your room without any effort. The whole process is plug‑and‑play, and it’s noticeably easier than many premium bars that require long calibration setup steps. USE: The S60K shines with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content. The sound feels wide, open, and cinematic, which is very reminiscent of that classic THX theater immersion, but updated and more precise. I’m a big Atmos fan, and this bar hits that same “bubble of sound” feeling I love, similar to how Atmos sounds in a well‑tuned car system, like in today’s Cadillacs. Dialogue is clear, effects have great separation, and the wireless subwoofer adds deep, punchy bass without muddying the mids. USABILITY: The remote is simple, HDMI ARC makes volume control seamless, and switching inputs is fast. Bluetooth streaming works reliably, and the wireless subwoofer gives you flexibility in placement. Ray‑Danz isn’t a person…it is TCL’s acoustic reflector technology…and it genuinely helps widen the soundstage in a way that feels more premium than the price suggests. The soundbar is slim enough to fit under most TVs, and once calibrated, it is set it and forget it. OVERALL: A fantastic value for a mid‑range Atmos sound bar. Wide sound, strong bass, easy setup, and a cinematic feel that punches above its price. If you love immersive audio, like Dolby Atmos presents, this soundbar delivers a modern, THX‑like experience without needing a full receiver setup. REVIEW: The TCL S Class S60K 3.1‑Channel Dolby Atmos Sound Bar surprised me with how immersive it sounds. Setup was simple: HDMI ARC connected instantly, the wireless subwoofer paired on its own, and AI Sonic calibration handled the tuning. Once everything was running, the soundbar immediately delivered a wide, cinematic soundstage…I am very impressed! Dolby Atmos and DTS:X give movies and games a spacious, 3D feel. I’m a huge Atmos fan. I love how it sounds on my AirPods and in my car, and I’ve always appreciated that “updated THX” sound style immersion…the S60K captures that nostalgic vibe extremely well. TCL’s Ray‑Danz acoustic reflectors help spread the sound outward, making the bar feel bigger than it is. Dialogue stays clear, effects have great separation, and the subwoofer adds deepness without overwhelming the mids. Usability is excellent. Unboxing was simple, it’s pretty much the same as any other subwoofer. I was planning on replacing a one year old Insignia 2.1 soundbar with subwoofer with this, assuming this would be a better option. But I had a moment of panic, since I use a toslink cable to connect to my gaming computer, a 2026 Alienware. And when I first picked this, I saw optical input, but later looking at the page the optical was only showing now for the 5.1 version of this, not the 3.1. But the optical connector IS there on the 3.1 version as well. When I first got this hooked up and booted, I played an MP3 just to get a quick feel for the system and the sub before I even looked at settings. And it sounded pretty good, and the sub is definitely a few steps up from the Insignia. So I thought I’d be happy with this. Then I started gaming. Destiny 2 was my first test. And the soundbar was just SUCH a disappointment. EVERYTHING sounds tinny coming out of it. The subwoofer is doing a great job, and I love the bass response. But the soundbar is just TINNY, to the point it’s a complete distraction and the gaming is annoying rather than fun. I spent a lot of time going through all the settings there are trying to compensate, and NOTHING made the soundbar sound anything as good as the Insignia did. No matter what this sounds like it’s just nothing but the highs. Granted, this does a great job of reproducing the mids and highs. But the problem is that seems to be ALL it does, so EVERYTHING sounds like it’s coming out of a little AM radio speaker from the 60’s that isn’t coming out of the subwoofer. There are plenty of options for sound adjustment – bass and treble, from -6 to +6. Subwoofer level adjustment, soundbar level adjustment. Various sound modes, games, movies, music, etc. I was about to swap my Insignia back in, but I figured let’s see if it’s just Destiny or is it everything. Fortunately, it seems at this point of my testing to only be Destiny that sounds so bad with this soundbar. Halo. Assassin’s Creed. Horizon. Ghosts of Tsushima, these all sound normal / good. I don’t watch movies on this PC here, since I have a full atmos setup in my great room, but I thought I’d test some here to see how this does with movies. And I was very leased with it. Again, the sub is a busy little worker, and the low level response for things is quite an improvement over my Insignia sub, which I was very happy with. There are options to try to enhance the dialog, but for me it didn’t seem to make much of a difference if I was trying to use the voice mode as opposed to movie or anything else. The size of the subwoofer is satisfying, seeing it next to the old one. I like the design as well with the open bottom out the front and back. And in the third day of testing somehow I was working on the standard sound mode, which I could’ve sworn I tested initially with Destiny 2 but I must not have – that let the game sound normal and good again. So I was happy to be at the point where I have improved sound all around, much better bass with this subwoofer. I’m curious how things would be with the bigger brother of this, the 5.1 system with the rear channel, but since this is just for gaming, I was content replacing my other soundbar with the same functionality, just better. And it’s definitely that. Very happy now with my gaming system.

After our previous soundbar started having issues, I decided to look for a new one and was really interested in this TCL, especially knowing that they make good quality televisions these days. The setup process was very easy, and I was able to place it directly underneath my TV as it is slim and a low profile. Connecting it via HDMI eARC was super simple, though I did run into a minor issue at first where I wasn't getting any sound. Once I realized I needed to go into the settings and turn the TV’s internal speakers completely off, the audio came through really clear and crisp. Overall, I'm happy with how it performs. The dedicated center speaker keeps dialogue focused when watching television shows, and the 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer delivers a deep, satisfying bass at all volumes without taking up much room. I ended up placing it behind and to the left of my television, I know that it is not ideal location as of now. The remote is very simple and has fast response time when trying to adjust volumes. It isn't quite the best compared with the higher-end sound bars, but you get what you pay for and the TCL S60K isn't trying to be that. My main qualm is that the sound can occasionally feel a bit hollow, The other issue that I ran into is that the front display can also be a little hard to read if you aren't sitting directly in front of it because the display reads from right to left, and the display is not to large. So long words take time to move and has been a challenge to read it. Despite these concerns, I found that this soundbar offers really good sound for our smaller living room size. If you are on a budget, and want a solid decent sound, this is the one to get.

The TCL-S-Class S60K 3.1 Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar with Subwoofer has good quality sound with a bass at moderate volumes. The Soundbar/Woofer comes with a remote, and an app is not required. The app is needed to set equalization levels. The TCL TVs can also adjust to most features without the soundbar remote or the TCL app. The Night Mode lowers the bass. You are able to pair the soundbar with the subwoofer. The AI Sonic-Adaptation helps to carry the sound into different rooms layouts and environments, which is a nice feature. The Bluetooth connection is very stable and the audio-video synchronization helps with potential video delay on other devices. The dialogue enhancement works especially well on musicc and game EQ modes. Overall I really like this product. The subwoofer is not too large and fits nicely in the corner of my room. Pros: Easy setup Sound Quality Cons: None at the moment. I would recommend this product to a friend. Will continue to use it and thank you for allowing me to test it.

Set up was easy if you want to install soundbar on a wall. Soundbar is too big to slide under the 85" TCL tv. but sitting in front of tv on table works. It is designed to mount on a wall. I am installing my tv over a fireplace with a wall mount bracket that will swing out and down from the wall to be lowered in front of the fireplace dropping down about 24 inches to have a more direct view. They have brackets to mount the soundbar on the bottom of the tv to have the sound come directly form the tv. If you don't get a bracket to mount the sound bar under the tv or on a wall under the tv, the sound will be offset from the tv. You can not move the soundbar to far from the tv because of it's short power and dARC cables. If you don't mind having the sound coming from the side of the tv you will be OK. Wall mounts to mount the tv above the fireplace where you want them to swing down for better viewing are very expensive for heavier tv's. Check them out before baying your tv if you are mounting on the wall to drop down or swivel. I have not bought one yet before this review. The subwoofer when turned up to hear it, it makes an annoying vibration when watching channels like the news unless you have the sound turned way down. The surround sound only works when put on this mode. It does not appear to work when put on other sound mods like sports, gaming , music and standard. Other modes like Movie does not produce a surround sound effect. The voice setting is good to hear what the people on the tv are saying which is the best part of this soundbar for me. The soundbar tells you what mod you are setting it on by a very small scrolling display that runs across the front of the soundbar when adjusting to different features. It only displays about 7 letter at a time running across the display on the soundbar. The small amount of letters are very hard to read if you are not right in front of the soundbar. If you are sitting a little to thee side of it, you can not read it to adjust it. I can not find a setting to have the information go to the tv for easy reading. This makes it very hard to change sound modes or set it up or just adjust the base and treble. The sound range setting goes from 0 to 99. It is very loud for us on a setting of 18 for movies. It will blast you out if you set it on a higher setting if you are in a average size room. This soundbar would probably work very well if you have an outside tv and want a lot of sound to reach a very large area. I do not know how the distortion would be if turned up high. On surround sound mode and turned up you can hear the subwoofer if adjusted up. There is a separate adjustment for the subwoofer. To get the full effect of the soundbar you must download the TCL app to your phone to adjust the soundbar to it's full potential. I don't think it made much of a difference after doing this procedure. It can be a little frustrating to do because the instruction for me were not very good to understand. Read the information on the instructions then press the blue button which sometimes does not make sense to me. But pressing it gets you to the next step. I bought this soundbar because is said the voice mode was really good for hard of hearing people. For me it works very well. The less pricy soundbars for TCL tv's may work just as well. I suggest to go and listen to them first before buying one if you can. The sound is very disappointing compared to using my stereo system like I did in the past to listen to the TV. I have an older stereo system that uses wire to go to the speakers. In my present Livingroom I can not hide the wires to the speakers to make my wife happy. If you have a stereo system that has blue tooth speakers, this may work better to have a better sound quality. The soundbar sound is a lot better than the speakers on the tv. Your TCL remote will work to turn on the soundbar with the tv and adjust the sound. For all other functions you need to use the soundbar remote. If you want to hear your tv and understand what people are saying better this soundbar works good. If you want quality surround sound that really fills the room, I do not recommend this soundbar. Again if you can listen to soundbars for buying, I highly suggest this.

Love the sleek look of it and was excited with it having 3 channels for the dedicated dialog. We paired it with our TCL QM6K. The e-arc made it easy to just use with the TV remote. Love having only 1 remote for eveything. Unfortunately we played with the settings but the sound quality just wasn't there for us. Compared with the speakers built into the TV (which to be fair our model TV did dedicate effort into the speaks built into the TV), the TV speakers were just better than the soundbars.

I received the TCL S-Class S60K from Best Buy for testing. On paper, it’s a lot for the price: 3.1 channels with a dedicated center, wireless subwoofer, Dolby Atmos, DTS, Ray-Danz III, AI Sonic room calibration, HDMI eARC, Bluetooth, and multiple sound modes. Unfortunately, my experience has been mixed. My biggest issue was the sound. No matter which preset I used, it was either flat or very tinny. The presets didn’t fix it. Some pushed the bass way too hard while the highs still sounded thin, while others just sounded flat. Then I connected it to the TCL Home app, and that changed my opinion considerably. The Custom EQ is practically a must-use feature. I was able to eliminate the tinny sound without simply cranking the bass and turning my apartment into a subwoofer test lab. My girlfriend walked in and immediately asked why it sounded so much better, without knowing I had changed the EQ. Why doesn’t TCL provide a preset this good? The wireless sub has plenty of power, and some presets lean way too heavily on it. Custom EQ lets me balance the bar and sub instead of choosing between thin sound and excessive bass. I also prefer Sound Enhance OFF. More importantly, I found that my original Night Mode problem appears tied to Sound Enhance being ON. With Sound Enhance and Night Mode both off, I can enable Night Mode and it continues working after turning the TV off and back on. That matters in an apartment. Initially, Night Mode wouldn’t work until I toggled it off and back on after starting the TV. AI Sonic-Adaptation was another problem. The TCL Home app repeatedly told me I was disconnected from Bluetooth and instructed me to turn Bluetooth back on in my iPhone settings. Bluetooth was already on, though, and the app was actively connected to the soundbar: I could adjust the EQ and the soundbar responded immediately. Turning Bluetooth off and back on never fixed it, and calibration would not complete. Being told I was disconnected while actively controlling the soundbar was very confusing. The front LCD is difficult to read through the metal mesh. From my normal seating position, I often have to squint or move closer. The TCL Home app also wasn’t obvious from the included documentation. Once I found it, though, it became essential. If you buy this soundbar, use the app and Custom EQ rather than relying on the presets. Finally, keep the Atmos expectations realistic. The S60K has Dolby Atmos and DTS, but no physical up-firing or rear speakers. It uses processing rather than dedicated height/rear channels, so don’t expect the same effects as a true surround setup. Overall, the S60K has good hardware and a powerful subwoofer, but the factory tuning leaves a lot to be desired. The Custom EQ completely changed my impression of it. Without it, I’d be disappointed. With it, the sound is dramatically better. All TVs come with speakers, but since the advent of thin TVs, nearly all of them sound bad. Often the speakers are rear or downward firing, and rarely are they very big or powerful. And thus one of the best investments you can make for enhancing the viewing experience is to upgrade the sound, and in testing, TCL’s S60K proved to be a very nice option for doing so. It’s a 3.1 system with a wirelessly connected subwoofer. Yes, you will lack dedicated rear channels with this model, but I’ve used 2.1 and 3.1 systems before, and you’d be surprised by how immersive such systems can be. This is especially true because the subwoofer adds that ambience and “floor” to the sound, and isn’t typically directional in the first place. The upside of this configuration is ease of setup–the hardest part of a 5.1 (or more) system is getting placement of the rear of speakers for power. I have a couch that floats in the middle of the living room with no power outlets in the floor or nearby, so even wireless rears would be a hassle or involve a trip hazard. Setup is really easy–from unboxing to being up and running can be done in just a few minutes. Fully configuring things will take a little bit longer, but the out of the box settings, which I suspect many will default to, do quite well. TCL’s Home app can be used to additionally configure audio settings for specific seating arrangements–it uses your phone’s mic to calibrate the speakers like you might do with a receiver and its placement mic. Clever, and a nice touch, though I do not know why this app needs my precise location, so that’s something for the privacy-minded. The app gives you a variety of presets–standard, movie, music, game, sports, voice, and custom EQ. You can also toggle on/off night mode, surround enhance, and voice enhance, as well as adjust the levels for the center channel, bass/treble, and subwoofer. I typically used movie with surround enhance on. I tested this with a variety of films that serve as my “go to” films for such purposes–PACIFIC RIM (4K streaming, Atmos mix), WAR OF THE WORLDS (2005) Blu Ray (I like the DTS mix on that disc for the tripod emergence scene), MASTER AND COMMANDER (the opening naval battle), and STAR WARS (the opening credits with John William’s Wagnerian horn blasts). I also tested it in music with the Blu Ray of FANTASIA and Elton John’s One Night Only concert film (also a 5.1 mix), along with some Spotify streams. Sound came via optical since my Vizio P-series TV’s HDMI board has become very flaky with all connections and ARC isn’t reliable on it any longer. HDMI-ARC, Bluetooth, aux, and USB media are other connection options. I didn’t try voice enhance or push the center channel up, since by default the center channel seemed very prominent, which is nice for hearing dialogue in modern productions where intelligibility of the actors isn’t always prioritized. The subwoofer is pretty active and can occasionally get a little boomy as it’s trying to make a bigger sound than its physical dimensions can probably provide, but most of the time it keeps up cleanly. The net effect is that the mids seem to me a little lost at times–I’m sure some further tinkering might be able to adjust this. That said, by no means is the net effect unsatisfactory–the overall sound experience is very good and at times surprisingly excellent (in that I forgot I wasn’t listening to a soundbar vs. a bigger dedicated 5.1 system). Aesthetically, it blends in well, which is what I want out of a soundbar, looks-wise. The subwoofer unit can be placed anywhere, but I tried to get it in a place to use the room efficiently as a boost. I liked the front display, which featured text large enough, and bright enough, for me to read from the couch easily. Overall, I really liked this TCL soundbar and feel it offers excellent value. It has a lot of features and sounds vastly better than TV speakers, and can genuinely provide some nice cinematic moments. I was quite pleased with it and I suspect most people will feel the same way.

I received my TCL S60K Soundbar last week, and overall I’m happy with it. I’ve owned a variety of soundbars over the years, including one exceptional high-end model. This isn’t anywhere near the best soundbar I own, but it’s also nowhere near the most expensive, which is fine, as this soundbar is not for our main system. Setup was ridiculously easy. I hooked it up to a TCL TV, and it really was as simple as attaching the HDMI cable and plugging in the bar and subwoofer. It reminded me of the old days 25–35 years ago, when you just hooked up a new piece of electronics and hit the power button. I mounted it on the wall just below the TV, and the instructions, hole guide, and mounting hardware were all fine. On the positive side, the bass is what jumped out at me first. The subwoofer delivers a deep, satisfying low-end response at moderate volume. Voice Enhance works well sometimes; other times I can’t really notice a difference. It never makes things worse, and it does occasionally make dialogue easier to understand, so that feature is a win. Everything was easy to set up and operate. Overall, the sound is good, though I do find myself tweaking the settings from time to time to get the best results. That leads me to the things I don’t love. As mentioned, I can get most anything to sound good, but I do have to adjust the sound settings fairly often with this bar. With my other two soundbars, I rarely touch anything except volume or bass. Sometimes the audio can sound a bit hollow or tinny, like laptop speakers. I can always tweak it into sounding better, but it feels higher-maintenance than I’d prefer if I want consistent peak performance. The display can also be hard to read unless you’re right in front of the device, which you definitely want to be able to see if you are tweaking the audio settings. That isn’t an issue in our current setup, but in a living room with seating off to the side, it could be a problem. Finally, while the subwoofer is excellent at moderate volumes, it can struggle at high levels. All in all, I would say this is a solid soundbar and a good value for the price. We got this for our guest room, where my father has been staying since his stroke, and for us it’s working great. However, if I had tried to use this as our main sound system for movie night, I don’t think I would like it nearly as much. If I knew someone in real life looking for a solid, good-value soundbar, I’d recommend this one a friend.

TCL designs and manufactures the components used in its products in-house. TCL just introduced S-Class S60K, a new 3.1 channel Dolby Atmos soundbar with a wireless subwoofer. It is wall mountable, measures 2.52” H x 33.46” W x 3.54” D and weighs 6.06 pounds. The subwoofer measures 11.42” H x 8.66” W x 12.99” D and weighs 10.8 pounds. The subwoofer contains a 6.5” driver. Simply plug the subwoofer into a wall power outlet and it wirelessly receives the bass frequencies from the soundbar. No cables are required and the subwoofer delivers enough bass that I had to turn it down in order to balance the overall sound profile. S-Class S60K supports DTS-X, DTS Virtual:X, and Dolby Atmos. Voices come through crystal clear on this soundbar. The built-in tweeters, made by TCL, produce precise high frequencies with amazing clarity. Voices are extremely easy to understand, thanks to the dedicated center channel speaker. This is a 3.1 channel soundbar; the surround effect is limited and is not as dramatic as a 5.1 channel surround would produce. However, TCL uses acoustic physical waveguides, rather than digital effects, to effectively direct wide surround sound across the room. The result is a wide soundstage that is very pleasing. CONCLUSION: TCL S-Class S60K is a premium quality product. The remote can be programmed to turn on the television and the soundbar. Ai Sonic Auto Room Calibration makes setup a breeze. ChoruSound combines the soundbar with TCL TV speakers for a fuller sound. Power & HDMI cables are included. This soundbar is all you need to enhance the TV speaker sound. It earns my recommendation.

The TCL S60K 3.1 channel soundbar is crazy good, especially considering its price. I tried it because I wanted to see if it could convincingly simulate surround sound and Dolby Atmos from its single soundbar module compared to the $1.000+ big-brand-name soundbar setup I was previously using (which unfortunately did not do a good job with that...). And I have to say, the TCL is largely successful at doing that! Enough so that it has taken the place of the older, much more expensive setup I was using. Setting up the TCL soundbar was a breeze. I'm using the eARC connection, and my OLED TV found the soundbar and connected to it without intervention. It also has every other connection type you can think of. USB, optical, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm AUX input. eARC is the easiest and gives the best performance. Also, the soundbar will then turn on and off and the volume can be controlled using the TV remote. The soundbar also comes with an easy to use remote that can control most but not all of the soundbar functions. To access ALL of the functionality, you need to install the TCL app on your Android or Apple phone or tablet. The only functions not accessible using the remote are the subwoofer level and TCL's room correction routine. You can set the overall bass level using the remote, but in my case I needed to bump up the subwoofer output which can only be done in the app. The room correction routine uses the microphone in your phone and some test tones to adjust the sound a bit. In my case it did make a very small but noticeable difference in the surround-sound presentation. And the simulated surround mode is where this soundbar shines, in my opinion. I was (pleasantly) shocked by how the sound field was presented. I would have sworn that there were rear surround speakers in play. Dolby Atmos sounded great, although I don't have any source material with significant height content. The soundbar plus subwoofer can produce more than enough clean volume to fill my fairly large room. Overall, highly recommended! The soundbar sounds great.

OK, I am going toi do this review based on what this TCL - S-Class S60K 3.1 Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar is, and NOT how it compares to other Dolby Atmos products. In my main theater room, I have a full-blown 7.1 Yamaha reciever, with Sonance MAG5.1 speakers, Sonance IS15W sub, and Sony - SS-CSEM2 Dolby Atmos upfiring speakers. Needless to say, the Dolby Atmos and Dolby DTS:X decoding is nothing short of stunning. When watching movies with dogs barking behind us, our dogs get startled and start lookingfor where the barking was coming from. Having said all of that, this sysytem does not hold a candle to that sysytem, BUT it is NOT supposed to. I replaced an 8 year old Samsung 2.1 soundbar/sub in my den with this TCL system. The upgrade was stunning. This is a true 3.1 soundbar/sub with 3 unique channels (L/C/R), and a standalone sub. Watching TV/movies, the upgrade was very noiticable. The seperation of center, to left/right seperation is beyond noticable. And the sub was a little muddy with the older system, but this is tight, controlled bass. While it does have simulated Dolby Atmos, yes, it is noticeable, but it does not have dedicated upfiring speakers, so it is a virtual Atmos, and honestly? It's not bad. Certainly an upgrade. The same is true of the Dolby DTS:X. No near what a true 7.1 can get, but certainly capable. The unit is attractive, and simple to install with the wireless sub. If you want Atmos and DTS:X, make sure you use your TV's HDMI ARC/eARC channel connected to the HDMI input. Basicly i HDMI cable, 1 power chord for the bar and one power chord for the sub. Simple. End of the day, a very good system, especially for the price.

TCL S60K is a perfect size 3.1 channel speaker system for an average living room. The sound bar and the wireless subwoofer is pre-connected so setting the speaker system up is very easy. Just connect power to both the sound bar and the subwoofer and connect hdmi cable from my TV to the sound bar eARC port and power on via the TV. With such compact subwoofer, it is expected that the bass will be less capable. But increasing the channel level for subwoofer to +4 and increasing the bass to +4 makes it acceptable. You could increase both to a max of +6 and I do it for movies. Other than the bass, the speaker sounds good. It has a very loud and clear mid range, making human voice playing through the speaker loud and clear. To show how loud this speaker is, I barely turn the volume pass level 10. Note that the max is 100. The speaker system support AI Sonic-Adaptation. AI Sonic-Adaptation is a room calibration technology developed by TCL audio lab. To use this function, you install the TCL Home App and uses your phone microphone to measure the speaker system environment responses and the app will change the speaker to adapt to suit your room making the speaker sounds even better. You can also use the app to control the speaker instead of using the remote control. I am very happy with this speaker and I think this qualify as best bang for the buck.

Sleek smooth and to the point . That is what you get with a soundbar like this. It's not anything special or flashy but it's definitely loud. It definitely makes noise and it definitely has a nice little bit of bass to it. That was the biggest surprise to me was the base. But as far as hookups are concerned, it's simple and easy. It only has the one ARC HDMI. For something as simple as this, nothing beats good old fashioned optical. But it's not available. For a little bit more cash, I believe you can get the one with rear speakers and the option for optical but that's not what we're talking about. Focusing on this one. It can mount to the wall but my TV isn't so it's just going to go right in front of the TV. It goes right into my bedroom so no need for rear speakers either which is why I went for this one. The product height is only like 2 and 1/2 in or so. It was easy to put right in front of my TV. I didn't lose any screen. And I'm looking to upgrade my TV. The Bluetooth connectivity was nice and made really good music which is great for me because I like the little sound whenever I'm trying to get a little rest. Definitely a great system. Definitely recommend it. It's nothing fancy but it is effective and it is loud with plenty of bass.
