Growing up in the 50s seeing superman come to life around a 10" screen was amazing at the time. The first 2 seasons have twice as many episodes but some of the story lines were super weak. When they went to color, it was only broadcast in the New York area, the story lines improved but i did know that at the time. It was nice to relive the childhood memory's. Back then TV stations did not broadcast all day and night. Stations would go off the air and a test pattern would be on the screen to fine tune your antenna. So you would be outside playing and would hear the music and the "The Adventures of Superman" announcer and we would all come running.

I loved the Superman series as a kid (that was when the original episodes were first broadcast). The first few seasons were in black and white but by the 5th and 6th years they were in glorious color. This DVD includes all of the episodes and a very interesting interview with Jack Larson (Jimmy Olson) who recently passed away. I remember many of the story lines. The stories vary from very imaginative and entertaining to kind of lame but overall they are great fun. One element I noticed is the level of humor is more noticeable in these episodes and there is a lot more smiling and friendly banter between the characters. George Reeves' Clark Kent is much more relaxed and clearly enjoying himself than in the earlier seasons. The major complaint is many of the scenes contain washed out color. Otherwise the sound is great and it makes a good choice for those of us who grew up watching the amazing adventures of Superman.

Finally Superman is in color. To me this show was fun and brought me back to my childhood watching this show with my dad in the 80’s on nick at nite. I’m a big Superman fan and this brings back great memories of spending time with my dad.

I grew up watching the original Superman with George Reeves and watching these shows brings back many fond childhood memories. Now my 5 yr. old twin grandsons are into Superman - Halloween costumes and all. I bought them a copy to watch also.

it is so much fun seeing the old programs. But it could use more extras in it.
