Analogue Productions (Atlantic Series) Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Atlantic Records! Genesis's fourth album Foxtrot Includes 'Watcher of the Skies' and 'Supper's Ready' Hybrid Stereo SACD Mastered directly to DSD from the original master tape by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering Genesis' Foxtrot is the band's fourth studio album, released in 1972. Regarded as one of the seminal albums of the progressive rock genre, it marked a significant milestone in Genesis' discography. AllMusic's Stephen Thomas Erlewine says Foxtrot is where where Genesis began to pull all of it's varied inspirations into a cohesive sound. The startling thing about the opening 'Watcher of the Skies' is that it's the first time that Genesis attacked like a rock band, playing with a visceral power, he writes, giving the album a 5-star review. 'There's might and majesty here, and it, along with 'Get 'Em Out by Friday,' is the truest sign that Genesis has grown muscle without abandoning the whimsy. Certainly, they've rarely sounded as fantastical or odd as they do on the epic 22-minute closer 'Supper's Ready,' a nearly side-long suite that remains one of the group's signature moments. It ebbs, flows, teases, and taunts, see-sawing between coiled instrumental attacks and delicate pastoral fairy tales. If Peter Gabriel remained a rather inscrutable lyricist, his gift for imagery is abundant, as there are passages throughout the album that are hauntingly evocative in their precious prose.' - AllMusic This is the rare art-rock album that excels at both the art and the rock, and it's rightly celebrated for it's enduring impact on the progressive rock genre, making it an essential listen for Genesis fans. Double LP 2008 reissue on 180-gram vinyl. Few live albums are as revered as The Allman Brothers Band's InchLive at the Fillmore East.Inch More than just the raw energy on stage and from the crowd, it is the electric, jazz-like interplay between the performers that sets a high bar for jam bands to reach. The impeccable rhythm blended with masterful instrumental work, keeps fans coming back for more. Most noteworthy are the dueling lead guitars of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, and the instrumental byplay between Duane and his brother Gregg on the keyboards. Taken from a series of live shows in San Francisco recorded in March of 1971, InchLive at the Fillmore EastInch was an instant classic. It became the band's high watermark, but was tragically followed by the motorcycle deaths of Duane and bassist Berry Oakley. This double vinyl reissue was pressed in 2008 on audiophile-quality, 180-gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. Statesboro Blues 2. Done Somebody Wrong 3. Stormy Monday 4. You Don't Love Me 5. Hot 'Lanta 6.
