About this product

Not to be confused with the girl group from Philadelphia with same name whose members included Nona Hendrix and Sarah Dash, or the acappella street corner group from Jersey City, New Jersey, The Del Capris featured here were a talented soul and funk music outfit from Newark, New Jersey. The last of their known output is this 1970 single, InchOur Love (It Ain't The Same No More)Inch b/w InchLove FeverInch which features a majestic soul ballad on the A side, coupled with a horn-driven funk workout on the flip. Both sides were written, arranged, and produced by the famed songwriter, arranger, and producer Paul Kyser - known for his work with Stevie Wonder, The Chi-Lites, and The Three Degrees among many others. He was the mastermind behind the one-album disco project The Super Disco Band which he released on his own tag Pi Kappa Records. This ultra-rare soul single was originally released on Kyser's own Silver Dolllar Records imprint and is presented here newly remastered. Album Tracks 1. Our Love (It Ain't the Same No More) 2. Love Fever

Booker Newberry III - There Ain't No Love - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The late great singer and keyboardist, Booker Newberry III started his career as a member of the acclaimed soul group Sweet Thunder which had a hit with InchBaby I Need Your Love TodayInch and a handful of moderately successful albums before embarking on a solo career. Signed to Neil Bogart's Boardwalk tag, Newberry worked on his solo debut with producers Bobby Eli and Nick Martinelli. His song InchLove TownInch became an international hit in 1983. Over the last years of his life (he passed away in 2023) he was working with the renowned Philly Soul producer Butch Ingram, who had been encouraging Booker to record some new music. The resulting tracks they recorded together found Newberry's voice in fine form, sounding as good, if not better than in his heyday. Presented here is a fitting final tribute to Booker - a beautiful performance of the Ingram-penned original InchThere Ain't No Love,Inch sung with deep emotion by Newberry in his unique, characteristic style. Album Tracks 1. There Ain't No Love

Formed in 1958 in New York City, The Del Satins recorded their debut single, InchI'll Pray for YouInch in 1961 and shortly after joined forces with Dion DiMucci who wanted to replace his backing band, The Belmonts, with a rockier sound. The resulting single, “Runaround Sue” rose to the number one slot on the Billboard charts. Although they received no credit, they also sang on many of Dion’s later hits such as “The Wanderer” and “Ruby Baby.” After releasing a number of singles under their own name, they finally scored big with InchTeardrops Follow MeInch in 1962, cementing their stature in the doo-wop and early rock n’ roll community. Presented here is a comprehensive collection of early Del-Satins singles released between 1961 through the mid 1960’s. All selections have been newly remastered. Album Tracks 1. Counting Teardrops 2.
