Tyler (Jacob Scipio) and Maddie (Lou Llobell) had enough of just getting by in NYC, and chose to chuck it all for taking to the road in a van. It'd be a decision they'd regret for the most horrific of reasons, as-after witnessing a grisly accident they were helpless to prevent-they'd find their steps dogged by a legendary malevolent entity that attaches itself to helpless travelers. Unnerving effort from director André Øvredal also stars Melissa Leo, Miles Fowler, Joseph Lopez. 94 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.
Five people wake up dead. Washed up by the tide they find an old beach house, and soon realize they are in some version of hell. They are attacked by a demonic shadow creature and discover that hope is tied to the cabin's two mysterious paintings.
A woman seeks recovery from a violent assault by taking a job as a fire lookout, but is overwhelmed by her isolation and tragic past.
