This is a good game, it just requires some patience with the glitches and the game difficulty for some, could be frustrating. Sometimes the games doesn't key the sequences needed to proceed and requires starting over at a checkoint to continue, which can be frustrating at times. This is especially true if the level has widely spread out check points, like some of the levels do. The graphics are good, the atmosphere is engaging. It is not a terrifying game, there are moments when you are on edge about progressing through the level, due to the unknown of what lies ahead and that is fun. Overall, I found this game to better than the bad reviews I had read, and not as good as the glowing reviews said it was. I put it somewhere inbetween all the online reviews I had read. Definitely worth a look, if you're concerned about the price, rent it.

Like the premise; graphics, action and story are great. Too complicated and difficult in some spots. Might have been a good idea to include an easier level than casual to get the feel of the game before frustration sets in.

This is a great horror title for anyone looking for that feeling of survival. . The oppressive atmosphere, feeling of dread every time you open a door, and drive to stay alive makes this a game for anyone who's been wanting to play more of what made Resident Evil 4 and Last of Us so great (minus the brilliant story and characters in Last of Us).

The graphics on this game are reasonably good, you can easily tell what you're looking at as you move through the game. The environment of the game lends to the suspense, so the frights are somewhat psychological as well.

Im a 20 year male and this game scares me out of me in the beginning but when you get into the game it's not that bad it's based on survival and conserving your ammo this game is not meant for children under 13 unless you wanna wake up every night and worrying about your child with nightmares for weeks haha but this is game is by far one of the best I've have ever Bought

You know it's going to be a good game when you play for 10mins and it practically starts with a boss battle... I've only played it for a short time but I'm already really loving it! It's challenging and the graphics are stunning!

I am for now giving this game three stars. Why that is is because though the over all creepiness and jumps scares are definitely powerful, there seems to be almost a cliche aspect about this horror. That and often times I find myself frustrated with gameplay. I am enjoying the story line, in the confusing way that it is being unfolded. Hopefully when I beat this game I can change my ratings to 4 stars.

High recommend this game if you are a fan of the Resident Evil series. The only con is that the story ends on a cliffhanger, and the controls/camera are wonky and take some time getting used to.

After purchasing a copy for the PS4, i told my uncle about this game and made him purchase it. As for his response, he loves the game as much he loves Resident Evil 4.

this is a pretty good game. it has a lot of good creepy moments and will get your heart pumping fast in the first couple of chapters. The story is kind of all over the place, but that doesn't much matter if youre the type that likes to just run around in a creepy environment trying not to die. The dying part however is probably my biggest issue with the game. and that's either because i really suck at playing or it's just way too easy to die. at certain points of the game, it felt as though the game developers made you die immediately upon entering a new room as a joke. It started getting to the point where you die so often that you lose that fear of not being able to survive. Sort of like in the movie The Edge of Tomorrow where Tom Cruise has to die over and over again until he gets it right, that was me. i just stopped caring if i died the more i played, i almost welcomed it. which kind of takes the survival out of survival horror. despite all that, i did enjoy this game. it had enough creep factors in it to keep me interested. the character designs of the enemies and environments were beautiful and made you feel really uneasy. Overall, if you like survival horror games, i'd pick this game up, just expect to die a lot on normal mode.

The game is very intense. I find it fun and very scary, but at times I find myself lost or confused as to what I'm supposed to do next.

The Evil Within's paranormal setting gives the director free reign to play with notions of reality in a way that resembles Team Silent's best. Crumbling hospitals, dilapidated prisons, the odd, dreamlike feeling that none of the spaces you inhabit bear much relation to any real-world rules: you wouldn't be surprised to bump into James Sunderland. Does the combination work? It does, even if The Evil Within doesn't hit the heights of Mikami's previous work. It's a game that expertly sustains a feeling of dread, and knows when to ratchet up the feeling of being utterly overwhelmed, first slowly then suddenly in a way that induces sheer panic, much like Resi 4 before it. There's a satisfaction to combat that feels distinctly Mikami - every encounter is a test, a potential last stand, and it takes true skill to come out alive. Choices have to be made - do you use the various tricks and traps against your enemy, or break them down into ammo for your multi-purpose bow? It's up to you, which makes combat so much fun. At times it feels like a Mikami megamix: it has the village with the chainsaw-wielding dude, another mansion, etc. But Mikami does this so well it's difficult to get annoyed. It's not unusual for directors in either film or games to recall past glories, and few do it better than Mikami. Even though this isn't his best, The Evil Within has enough magic to make it a worthy investment.
