You can never go wrong with a true story and this no exception. It shows how the kids deal with a father that can't keep a job because his drinking. They move around a lot and through it all they realize they want more out of life. If they are to get it they have to do it for themselves

Great movie with a strong story behind it based on the real life of the main character/author of the book. Excellent acting as well. If looking for a good movie, this is it.
