One of my favorite films with three of my favorite actors. I am so thankful I was able to get the DVD from Best Buy. I always check Best Buy for DVDs/Blue Ray for films from this era and actors. Once again Best Buy - Thank you.

Suspenseful war movie adapted from the book of the same name by Alastair McClean. The actors are wonderful & Clint Eastwood fans won’t be disappointed.

Outstanding fictional WWII movie with a great cast! Gregory Peck leads a team of experts in various wartime fields to destroy a set of East German Guns that can destroy battleships a good distance away. To get to the mountain in which they are hidden, they must all climb up a steep rocky hill, in the dark, in bad weather. It's a well done movie with plenty of World War II action and suspense. I think it looks just amazing now and probably the best it has ever looked now in glorious 4K Restored Edition! The movie is a long one at more than 2 and a half hours, but it is well worth every minute. Highly recommended, but not for children under 13 in my opinion.

I grew up watching this film on TV, and even in that edited, small format this epic adventure came to life. Rewatching the film in UHD was highly enjoyable, and reminded me how influential the film still is for this kind of “men on a mission” adventure. Would make a great (if very long) double-feature with Star Wars: Rogue One! This new 4K presentation has fantastic sound options (Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 7.1, DTS HD-MA 5.1 and 4.0) and HDR10 UHD video. The visual presentation has been restored, but still looks dated—sometimes in an excellent, film-like way, and sometimes revealing limitations of the effects and some anamorphic distortion. So while this will never look like Rogue One, it captures the characters, location, story, and rousing score perfectly. You can watch the full version or the version with an intermission card (so you can try to run to the restroom, refill your drink, and get more popcorn in 5 minutes, just like people did in 1961!). There is a short featurette and trailer on the UHD, while the included 2011 Blu-ray carries over a large selection commentaries, documentaries & featurettes. Also includes a redeemable digital copy code for streaming the film in 4K.

There’s nothing to criticize with this very welcome upgrade to one of the best WWII adventure tales, with its terrific cast and impressive effects. As fine as the picture quality is, the remixed Atmos sound is the standout improvement over the old Blu-ray. Any remastering of these worthy titles when done this well should be rewarded with a purchase, to encourage more of the same.

Decent movie. I had hoped for better image quality in a 4K upgrade of a movie I had seen earlier on blu-ray and DVD. But it still looks good for it's age, even if it does show it's age. The restoration, if it was restored, doesn't make it look like a new movie. It's still is dated and it shows. But good entertainment if you lower your expectations from seing an old movie that looks like a new one. Enjoy it for it is, and the 4K upgrade is still better than DVD even though it's not a huge leap over blu-ray.

I do not usually like War stories, but this one has action, history, and wonderful actors. To tell the truth, I really like Gregory Peck. There is a lot to learn about the people who fought in WWII and about what happened in communities. I watched this movie every time I could when on tv and recorded it so I could watch again. Was very pleased to find it on dvd.

Wow! What an incredible restoration! The story of the amazing task of the restoration is in the inside sleeve notes. It's 4K but still retains that "old movie" look with appropriate graininess, yes incredible picture quality. A must buy! Do not hesitate. The audio has been expanded and is well done.

I made several purchases around December 9 but nothing on that day. So I cannot review as I don't know what I'm supposed to review. I had several encounters with the Geek Squad which were good. I purchased a Total Care package or whatever it's called but have been a bit frustrated in figuring out how to make contact. The one telephone appointment I made turned out to have been located at a different store than the one I had stated but some accomodation was made. I was hoping there was a "walkup" feature with the care package but apparently that is not possible. I'm also not sure how to get help with software questions that might not require a store visit -i.e. telephone help from Geek Squad. Process seems cumbersome. Hope for some clarification.

The 4K of “The Guns of Navarone” is its best showing since its original Roadshow presentation during the summer of 1961.

This movie is a great WW 2 movie. The best visuals and sound ever. It does have film grain but that is to be accepted for its age. This is a must have classic!

This classic movie illustrates the atmosphere during WWII. Clever scheme to destroy the huge German mega-guns.
