Smart, violent and politically incorrect, The Hateful Eight is Tarantino through and through and although definitely not one of his greatest, it is still another wonderful addition to his eclectic filmography.

Not Quentin's best, but enough twisted humor and violence to satisfy a QT fan. Kurt Russell gives a good performance as a ruthless bounty hunter who's named "The Hangman" because he brings his delinquents to justice alive, so they can be hanged and Sam L. Jackson is a colleague in the same trade, however he prefers to deliver the goods in a dead state... Their paths cross in Wyoming at the edge of a blizzard rolling in and they travel together to a coach station along the way to wait out the passing storm. "The Hangman" has a female delinquent (Jennifer Jason Lee) chained to himself with the intention to take her to Red Rock hand her over to justice and collect the reward on her head. Add another character trying to escape the coming in blizzard, who claims he is the new Sheriff of Red Rock (actor Walton Goggins, delivering a great performance). The party makes it to safety at Minnie's Haberdashery, where 4 other characters await them and where a cat and mouse games ensues which ends in a bloody climax with a few surprises along the way. The dialog and conversations is typical Quentin with a lot of fun and sarcasm mixed in. Tim Roth and Michael Madsen, staple actors for Quentin, give both a solid performance and Demián Bichir and Bruce Dern also shine. Zoë Bell, another veteran Quentin Tarantino actress has a small role, but it is nice to see her, even not as a major character. Watch it and enjoy the ride!

It took me 3+ years to view this movie, but it was well worth the wait! I heard minimal feedback from friends/acquaintances about this movie. Most of it was favorable though. While watching it, I found myself laughing a few times throughout for the most odd reasons. The entry door became a bit of a background character that was the comic relief! The characters all had varying backgrounds, but all melded well together under the circumstances they were put into. Looking forward to watching this again soon!

So I had family travel from south of our state to visit. They were scrolling through Netflix on my tv and I suggested that they give this movie a try... They love westerns and I let them know this will be perfect... They watched it three times during there stay... Needless to say they returned a week later and I surprised them with two copies each... They were thankful and I was glad Best Buy was open and available for me to make this purchase on a short notice as a gift... Brick & Mortar is needed for a shopper like me! Enjoy the movie!

Writer and director Quentin Tarantino’s second Western is also his weakest film. However, that’s not saying much as the movie is still better than most. Set in one location with multiple protagonists, the film has more in common with Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs” than most of his other action driven affairs. I’ll admit, I had to watch the film for a second time before I truly enjoyed it once I knew what Tarantino was trying to do.

I am the first to admit that I am not a Tarantino disciple - I love some of his films while feeling that the others are just all right. With that said, I do think The Hateful Eight ranks amongst his best, as it brings his characterization and dialogue talents to the forefront and exploits them in the best ways imaginable. The setting is terrific, the acting believable and the narrative development spot-on. There are no gimmicks here, just great filmmaking.

This is a good movie to watch with your grandfather or father. The movie is slow, but the acting and the direction makes it worth watching it. My complaint is not with the movie, but the redemption of the movies that were made under Lionsgate brand. Digital copy is can be redeemed on Google or Vudu and you are forced to give Liongates you email to redeem the digital copy.

The Hateful Eight puts Tarantino in a kind of revenge western thriller that takes place all in one setting during a fierce Wyoming blizzard. The usual star power (Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, and Tim Roth with newcomers Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh) takes the drama up a notch as we sit back and watch the whole thing unravel... violently. Which is probably just how QT wanted it to.

Good to see this was released for the general public. When Kurt smashes that old Martin Guitar he really is destroying a Vintage Guitar. No he didn't know but Tarentino did.Douche move in my opinion. They had a replica made for that but Tarentino chose not to swap it out OR inform anyone.I'll say it again..Douche Move

Another wild one from Tarantino. You know you'll get quirkiness and violence in a Tarantino film, but he keeps coming up with creative ways to do it. The suspense is palpable - you know someone - or someones - are going to get it, but you're not sure when or from what direction. Enjoy?
