Skyward Sword will always be an amazing game with an amazing story. The new button controls are not perfect, but they are a huge step up from the motion controls back on the wii. The improved graphics look beautiful on the switch and make the game more enjoyable. Overall, this is a big step up from its original version on the wii.

I got Skyward Sword HD and I was skeptical if I would like it or not even with the changes, and surprisingly I'm actually quite enjoying it. While there are changes like faster dialogue, skippable cutscenes and Fi shutting up except for important cutscenes the combat is much more enjoyable with button controls and you can disable motion controls completely. It takes a while to get use to of how your sword swings with the right stick, but it feels much more fluent than Wii motion controls. Also it's easier to perform actions like stab attack and shield bash which you just press the right and left stick which I could almost never do on Wii which made it annoying because it was a useful against fights, but playing HD I realize how broken shield bash is. You can almost parry almost enemy attack and you can always see it coming so its easy to react to, you can either wait for the attack, or if you keep attacking them they will go into a block state, and if you keep attacking while they are in a block state they will always counter attack which again you can easily sheild bash to stun and attack them until they go back into the block state. Rinse and repeat you can pretty much defeat any enemy. So they are charging full price for a HD remaster but I would recommend you give the game a go if you didn't like skyward sword. It can take less than 30 minutes to get your sword and combat is way more enjoyable without motion controls. I would have given the Wii version like a 6/10, the HD version I would give it a 8/10, not the best Zelda game, but way more enjoyable than the Wii version. Unlike the Wii version I can actually see myself replaying Skyward Sword HD again like other Zelda games and for me to say that imo means they did a great job fixing a lot of the problems for Skyward Sword.

So when this was released on the Wii I was all about it, loved the motion controls, finally able to swing my sword and bash my shield as link. I had higher hopes Nintendo would have made the handheld non motion controls so much better than what we got. It’s like you’re drunk and it’s not the best to control either way. Still, play this if you haven’t, it’s fun and campy as well as nicely designed. With weird bosses and sadly it’s not very long.

Highly Recommend! Never played this game until now and man the game is AMAZING! The fact that it brings the joy one into play as well like it did with the nunchucks on the wii that's a cool variant of the game. You can play with a controller, overall the game looks and sounds amazing.

This game is fantastic. The changes they made from the original really do make it easier to play, and it just feels fresh after so long. I highly recommend it. The motion controls work fine and the button controls are a good alternative for portable users or people who hate motion controls.

Amazing game, quite lengthy so it was kind of worth the norm of $60 video game, nonetheless it was pretty fun and the new gameplay features with the joycons was a nice touch. Not sure if it followed the original to the letter but the graphics are obviously improved. Nothing out of this world so 4/5 stars !

Playing this game with a pro controller is awesome, not having to use motion controls is great, although the last half of the game requires a little too much backtracking.

This was a great game hidden behind a lot of time-wasting functions, but they've now fixed all of that. Mind-numbing text reading, countless backtracking and re-treading, etc., and all of that has been streamlined for a great game that should've launched this way. Well worth the price... now.

good game. I bought it in digital format and in less than 10 minutes I received the code to redeem. Highly recommended
This is supposed to be a decent game but I could never bring myself to pay full price for an "HD remaster" of an old game. The story is supposed to give a lot of background information on the Zelda universe but the gameplay has always gotten some flack, I picked this up on sale and I look forward to playing it but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Amazing upgrades were made to make this work. I finally can get into this game without any gimmicks. Works incredibly well with the wireless gamecube remote as well. Definitely a top 10 Zelda game.
