While pursuing a mountain lion through the snows of a Wyoming reservation, U.S. Fish & Wildlife tracker Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) comes upon the corpse of a young Native American woman. Shaken due to the loss of his own daughter under similar, unsolved circumstances, he lends his expertise to raw FBI assignee Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olsen) in the hopes of finding the killer... and a measure of redemption. Intriguing mystery, the directing bow for screenwriter Taylor Sheridan, co-stars Graham Greene, Jon Bernthal, Julia Jones, Kelsey Asbille. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio; Subtitles English (SDH), Spanish.
Hollywood great Burt Reynolds (White Lightning, Semi-Tough) leads the downfield charge in this raucous, rough-and-tumble comedy-drama coached by legendary director Robert Aldrich (Vera Cruz, The Dirty Dozen). Reynolds plays one-time pro quarterback Paul Crewe, now behind bars for leading the state police on a wild chase in a borrowed car. Eddie Albert (Hustle) is the sadistic, scheming warden who recruits Crewe to form a team of convicts to go up against the warden's polished, semi-pro team of prison guards in a championship game. Crewe has agreed that his crew dubbed the Mean Machine will provide only passive resistance to the squad of brutal guards. But the gridiron showdown turns into a gritty game of cunning strategy as the Mean Machine defies the warden's iron-fisted control and attempts to go the distance in The Longest Yard. Featuring Ed Lauter, Michael Conrad, Bernadette Peters, Richard Kiel and a rowdy roster of real-life football greats, it's survival of the fiercest. And the funniest!
Popular sports comedy stars Burt Reynolds as Paul InchWreckingInch Crewe, an ex-pro quarterback who is sentenced to serve 18 months in prison for stealing his girlfriend's car. His attempts to adjust to life behind bars are complicated when the conniving warden (Eddie Albert) coerces him into organizing an all-con football team to play against the jail guards' semi-pro squad-resulting in a game unlike anything you'd see in professional sports. With Ed Lauter, Michael Conrad, James Hampton. 121 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English Dolby Digital 5.1; audio commentary.
