I had many reasons to buy this movie first being that I grew up in the greater Binghamton area and it was interesting to see familiar places on the screen, the other is that my wife and I have enjoyed previous collaborations between Marc Lawrence and Hugh Grant. While this is such a light fare for the mind I found it too close to "Music and Lyrics" as Hugh Grant's character is the same aging artist trying to find his way back to past glories using a random encounter as a muse. Highly predictable with a great cast this is an entertaining evening movie that you don't have to pay that much attention to. (J.K. Simmons is a fave but to give top billing is a blatant cry for box office dollars). It was fun but without the close ties to home it won't make my list for must see again movies. But if you put Grant, Tomei, Janney, Simmons and even Chris Elliott in any movie I'll buy it!

Hugh Grant has the amazing ability to take even a tired and cliched script and bring something to it, such as Music and Lyrics. In this one, Grant brings his usual persona to the role, although the film itself is hardly a classic. Worth watching, but you probably won't watch it twice.

The Rewrite with Hugh Grant and Marissa Tomei was a lighthearted, funny movie about a Hollywood screenwriter who can't get any new work so he becomes a college teacher in upstate New York.

I enjoyed this movie it was something different then the normal everyday mundane for movies. Although I will say that it isn't the most family orientated movie.

This is a good story lighthearted and humorous not ground breaking but a nice watch Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei really make it worthwhile.

A typical Hugh Grant movie. Fun with a message. No surprises here, but totally enjoyable.

Not the best of the Hugh Grant type of rom-com but worth your time.

Good cast and a good premise but it was just average in my book.

Hugh Grant wasn't looking for a steller script this time around.....I think he was more interested in just getting a paycheck. Marisa Tomea was enjoyable.
