Investigation is what you do most of the time. Thinking of, or trying to think of your next step. Reminds me of the first time I played Silent Hill. A new adventure into a weird mindset, and it kinda drives ya crazy. I will admit its a little clunky when fighting the strange things, but thats ok for a new type of game. You make choices so the replay option is there because you wonder what would happen if you made the choice to “ just leave ‘em behind” instead of rescuing them. I always watch for new games like this that slide in under the radar.

If you're a fan of RPG style missions (side quests/main quests) and puzzle crime solvers, then you will like this game. The story is intriguing, the quests can sometimes get repetitive but not the point you can predict exactly whats coming next. Battle system is definitely clunky and can be frustrating at the beginning, but if you level up your experience tree first to get the huge XP boosts when completing missions, and start upgrading damage from there...battle basically becomes a tedious necessity. You'll breeze through danger zones and bosses without blinking. Even on hard. That can deter the experience for some, but if you're like me and rather focus on the story and gameplay then being annoyed by the battle system half the time, then thats the route to go with this game.

Okay so I'm stuck a bit in this game, and I've take a bit of break from it, but that's not because its no good, or not fun, it is, Its just that I'm rather dumb and it takes me awhile to figure things out. Plus a big game came along and has taken up a lot of time but I am going to get back to this game soon. Why? well, its well written, the main character is interesting and the atmosphere is rather creepy and fun. So, I'm about three fourths done, but I am going back and I'm going to finish this baby, cause its a good game and then I'm going to play it again all the way through. Good story telling. which along with point, shoot, bang I really like in a game. This baby flew under the radar a bit but its worth $25 easy.

It introduces some innovative mechanics but some of them don’t feel polished. I really liked the theme. It’s pretty cool how you get to decided what to do with the clues you find. Cool locations/set dressing. Combat is more like a filler, doesn’t feel smooth and nice. Endings didn’t feel super satisfying though.

While I haven't finished it, I have put many hours into it. Quite fun and the investigation aspect is on point. Combat could use a little work and in the open world sections it can struggle at times with framerate and people poppin' in and disappearing at random. But that is definitely not a deal breaker.

This game has a creepy atmosphere mixed with great music and psychological horror themes. You are a detective in search of clues about what happened to the flooded city and the habitants in this surreal setting. Get ready for a wild ride!!

I heard mixed opinions about this game but I am actually enjoying the story and the battles. The graphics are very good and I got it on sale so I think it was well worth it.

If you enjoy the worlds Lovecraft has created, this detective game is for you. It really is a detective game -- you're moving around and open world city solving cases that come your way. There is combat with monsters, but it's not the main focus -- and, running can be important. You don't just monitor your health, but also your sanity. The graphics move between looking amazing and not great, to be honest ... but, the setting is amazing, so it's easy to overlook blemishes. Highly recommended to fans who know what Cthulhu is -- for others, you may enjoy this studios Sherlock Holmes games more.

Story and atmosphere are great. Good HP Hovercraft iteration. Combat is very lacking and I find myself running away more than engaging.

Set in the fictitious city of Oakmont, Massachusetts, you play a P.I. in search of answers to his visions. The city on the surface is very dreary and dark, which is perfect for a Lovecraftian story, but with how wide, but empty the world is, leaves much to be desired. The game does shine, however, when continuing the main story.

This is an ok game. Storyline and acting is good. However character faces are reused and animation seems stiff. Also movement in game is also stiff and junky.

A slight learning curve for the controls. Then you're right into the action and plot. Traveling through the town is complicated by flooding, but handled well in game and discovery of fast travel sites while exploring allows for faster travel. Good main plot so far and ample side plots offered. The mechanics for collecting and combining clues is challenging and fun.

Sinking City is a fun detective type game. Kind of similar gameplay as LA Noire, but a science fiction theme. The game does get a little glitchy during fast action scenes, but I am still really enjoying playing through it.

Completely interesting and divergent plot line. The characters are likeable. Great story. Gameplay is not completely smooth but does not affect the enjoyment of the game. Much better than expected. Give it a try!

I bought this on day one, without seeing much publicity for the game. I thoroughly enjoyed this game due to it’s successful combination of detective work, slashing and shooting and interesting storytelling. Great atmosphere and fun gameplay. Recommended!
