The Temprees - Lovemen (ALL-ANALOG) (VALENTINE RED PET PLASTIC VINYL) - VINYL LP

Produced by Josephine InchJoInch Bridges and signed to her We Produce imprint, The Temprees were a Memphis soul vocal trio powered by one of the great falsettos in pop music, that of Jasper InchJabboInch Phillips. Their 1972 debut Lovemen is aptly named; this is one of the greatest make-out R&B albums ever made, with one smoldering slow jam after another. Their take on InchDedicated to the One I LoveInch is rightly considered the greatest version ever made, but InchIf I Could Say What's on My Mind,Inch InchLove... Can Be So Wonderful,Inch and InchI Love You, You Love Me,Inch will get you and your partner's hips swaying (and patch up any lovers' quarrels tout suite, too). Stax didn't really know what to do with soul this sweet (We Produce was a Stax imprint), so Lovemen languished commercially, but nowadays it's recognized as a model of it's kind. For it's first-ever LP reissue, we've cut Lovemen ALL-ANALOG straight from the original two-track album master, and pressed it up in black vinyl. Vinyl LP pressing. Nevermen is a leaderless trio made of Tunde Adebimpe, Adam InchDoseoneInch Drucker, and Mike Patton. They are artists of a certain distinction who've made name by way of sonic fearlessness, singular talent, and an ability to capture both adoration and imagination while hurling good noise at the void. This is neither side-project nor supergroup; it's merely meant to be - a years-in-the-making partnership in which these men shared all duties, discovering their collective sound with the sort of glee and freedom usually reserved for first-timers. Amid this wild, weird churn of rock, pop, rap, soul, and other, it's shockingly easy to lose track of who's singing at what moment, and that's the point to quote Tunde/Adam/Mike in song, InchThe frontman digests it's self.Inch Nevermen, the album, finds these three giants shredding their egos to get at the heart of why they do what they do, to explore the hopes and fears and wins and losses of anyone who carves career out of what started as dream.
