Look! I have to to let people know that this Theragun Prime is the best. Look in I’ve tried creams, lotions and other similar products. But they didn’t do what this one does and that’s to take away my pain. Thank you Theragun for making my life so much easier.

It is a triangle shape with 3 different grip sections that help you reach all areas of your body. This latest version now has a more textured soft touch finish which allows a better grip. While subjective, the plastic feels sturdier when compared to the 4th generation. On device you have the power button, speed indicator, and pressure level indicator. The Theragun works with the app as well as independently via the power button on device. This means you don’t have to worry about the device not working if you don’t have it connected to your phone, which is becoming rare. Unfortunately, since the 4th generation Therabody has decided to remove two percussion tips and the carrying bag. On the plus side, Therabody now uses USB-C for charging reducing the chargers you need to carry when traveling. Usage For those who already have used percussion devices and want to get started, the process is simple. You just long press on the power button. Once the device is turned on, you quick press the power button to choose the speed level. After that, you can see the pressure level via an integrated power bar on device. For anyone who needs more guidance or prefers tracking, you can pair it with the Therabody app. The idea of the connection to your health account is so Therabody can better suggest routines you should use with the Theragun for the best results based on activities. If you decide to use the app, you can choose the type of recovery needed. For example, if you are needing recovery from a jog you can choose the workout and distance. The app will choose the recommended recovery routine and guide you through the process. During the process it will show you a video demonstrating the technique to massage the area as well as a power graph and countdown timer. It also shows you what area is next. However, it doesn’t pause when switching to the next section. When you are first learning a new area you are likely to miss the first few seconds as you figure out what you are doing. It would be great if Therabody allowed for a gap of a few seconds while it demonstrated the area and technique before continuing. Regardless, if you are new to percussive therapy it still makes the process very easy. The only issues experienced were minor in that sometimes the pressure graph on the app stopped working and also once the video stopped playing. Performance Coming from a Therabody Prime 4th generation, I can say that the 6th generation isn’t drastically different, but it is more refined. Not only does it feel stronger, it feels more well built. The original 4th generation you had to be careful of grease on the shaft. It was also louder and had a rattle. This latest version exhibits none of those issues. Furthermore, the device is overall much quieter at any speed. Max speed on the 6th generation is quieter than low on the 4th generation. Furthermore, it seemed impossible to stall out the motor. Even maxing out the pressure the motor never skipped a beat or changed tone. While this is far more pressure than you need to exert on your muscles it suggests this version will have no trouble keeping up. Results While there were certain areas that a little help from someone else is good, it was possible to do each routine alone using the different grips. With the help of the coach to target the routines needed for recovery, there was a noticeable difference in recovery time. Specifically, during longer jogging sessions my quads would ache afterwards effecting my sleep. Since my old Theragun had died I had been trying heating pads but the effect goes away once you stop applying heat and it isn’t comfortable to sleep using one. With the Theragun, going through the recovery routine would calm my quads down to where I was able to get restful sleep without an issue and without the need to overheat from a heating pad. The effects lasted longer. The main challenge was that some areas would either tickle or cause my muscles to twitch uncontrollably, but overall it was still worth it and it gave family members a good laugh. Final Thoughts While there are many percussive therapy devices available now, Theragun still seems to be one of the most polished. It also seems to have improved build quality, but time will tell. Overall, the Theragun Prime makes the process very easy, particularly if you are new to the process. If you are in the market for a percussive massaging tool, the Theragun Prime is worth a look.

For more than half my life, I’ve suffered from chronic leg pain. I’ve dealt with it through a myriad of medications, doctor’s visits, surgeries, and medical devices like the Theragun. I’ve had minimal results in those areas, but I’ve found out recently that this may have to do with the type of ailments I have and not the failing of the treatments. It’s important to match the tool to the ailment properly otherwise, you won’t see results. With a percussive therapy device like the Theragun Prime, people who will benefit the most are active individuals, fitness enthusiasts, and everyday users who deal with muscle tightness, soreness, or stiffness and want an easy way to speed up recovery, improve mobility, and manage muscle tension at home. I will say that most recently I’ve been plagued with a neck strain/nerve issue. I’ve been going to physical therapy for it and my therapist suggested using a percussion device on it occasionally to loosen the tension. That is where I used the Theragun. I’ve used a Theragun and other brands of percussive devices before and I was impressed with the power of the Theragun Prime 6th Gen. There are a few things I would love to see done differently. First of all, while it’s not difficult to use, I stumbled a bit the first time I used it. The box makes it seem as though you have to download the app in order to use it. There is a quick start guide printed on the inside of the box’s lid, but I missed it at first because I flipped through the paperwork that came with it thinking based of it was the manual. Then, I got frustrated because the app only took me through coaching options. I finally figured it out on my own, but I think it would have been less confusing if a manual was included with all the coaching pamphlets in the box. Second, the display is simply the LED around the power button. When I first turned on the unit, I thought that was the battery indicator. It turns out that the backlight of the power button is the battery indicator. It changes colors as the battery is used up and while that isn’t unusual, I had to go through several steps to find that answer. Overall, I think the Theragun Prime performs well when used for its intended purpose. Once I got past the initial learning curve, it delivered the kind of power and consistency I expect from a device in this category. The motor is strong without feeling out of control, and it does an effective job of loosening muscle tension when used thoughtfully and in moderation. For my neck strain, it helped relax the surrounding muscles enough to make stretching and physical therapy exercises more productive. That said, the experience could be improved with clearer onboarding and more intuitive indicators. These are not dealbreakers, but they do add friction during those first few uses. After spending more time with the device, those issues became less noticeable, and the focus shifted back to performance. At the end of the day, the Theragun Prime is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and it should not be treated as one. When matched to the right type of discomfort, especially muscle tightness and soreness, it can be a genuinely helpful recovery tool. Used with realistic expectations and alongside other treatments when necessary, it earns its place as a reliable option for at-home muscle care.

I've never used one of these before getting this one, but after straining my neck and having this within arms reach, I don't think I could go without. What surprised me most is how powerful it is and how it really can provide a deep tissue massage at home. While it is a bit on the heavy and bulky side, the triangular handle allows for lots of ways to handle it and get the leverage needed to actually get a good massage. While it can be turned on and used at one of five settings continuously, it also comes with pre programmed routines you can use through the app. The app has high quality video guiding you through each routine and the massager automatically adjusts speeds and pressure. There are also little cards that show you the different options too which is a nice touch if you don't want to use your phone too. But yeah, between a quick recovery from a strained neck and some relief from sore legs after skiing, this thing has earned its keep. It's amazing how quickly it can work out kinks and knots in muscles.

This massage gun is powerful, well-built, and genuinely effective for muscle recovery. The ergonomic handle makes it easy to reach areas like the upper back, shoulders, and hips without straining, which is a bigger deal than it sounds. The motor is strong but controlled, so it delivers deep relief without feeling harsh or rattly. I also like how customizable it is. The different attachments and speed settings make it easy to tailor the massage depending on whether you want light recovery or deeper muscle work. It’s surprisingly quiet for how powerful it is, and the battery life easily lasts through multiple sessions without constant recharging. Overall, it feels like a premium product that’s designed with real use in mind. If you work out regularly, sit for long hours, or just want consistent muscle relief at home, this is a worthwhile investment.

This is my first Theragun Prime since the original and the difference in build quality is night and day. It seems as though every issue I had with my older first generation Theragun Prime have been addressed, fixed, and upgraded, and for that, I can highly recommend the Theragun Prime 6th generation massager. This review is about the 6th generation Theragun Prime. That said, my original first generation Theragun Prime had issues almost immediately. In less than a week, it developed a rattle sound that never went away. It also leaked black grease around the metal bar that holds the attachments, and the plastic sleeve around the metal bar cracked. The original Theragun Prime used a barrel type proprietary power cable, so if you took it on a trip, you couldn’t forget to bring it. All of these issues have been resolved with the new Theragun Prime 6th generation. For starters, and as stated previously, the build quality is a massive upgrade. Therabody has claimed that this is their toughest Prime yet, and so far, I agree. It looks and feels MUCH more premium than the original. It is slightly more compact, yet feels significantly more powerful. Besides the build quality, one of my favorite upgrades is the fact that it can now be charged with a USB-C cable of your choice, doing away with the proprietary circular charging cable that we’ve seen in the past. I appreciate companies adopting a minimalist approach. Almost everyone uses USB-C to charge their phones, so we already have what we need to charge the 6th generation Theragun Prime. Note: Therabody provides the USB-C cable, but does not provide the wall charger in this package. To me, this is perfectly fine considering I already have plenty of those. The simplicity of the Theragun Prime cannot be overstated. There is one button. It is the power button, which turns on the massager, as well as the speed button for the massage intensity. You simply long-press the button to turn on the massager, then short press the same button to set the intensity / speed. The handle is in the shape of a triangle, which allows you to hold the massager in a variety of ways to reach even the most elusive spots on your back… by yourself. I have found that there is no spot that is unreachable while using this massager. Back, neck, arms, legs, are all easy to reach depending on how you hold it. The intense power of this massager is enough to soothe any aching muscle. My wife is a long-distance runner, she competes in full and half marathons pretty regularly and is engaged in some sort of stretching, running or training most every day. I….am not a runner. At one point in time I loved to walk a couple of miles every day, but currently suffer from a torn meniscus and am limited in motion and activity until I get it cleaned up. I also happen to work from home for a living (with a desk job), and the role and my physical limitations at the moment have left me in somewhat dubious shape. I mention all of this because the Theragun Prime has been of pretty great use for both of us, just in slightly different ways. For note and reference, we are a middle-age couple (she’s late 40s, I’m early 50s), and we actually purchased the original first gen Theragun Prime in early 2021, which was a great device despite the dog chewing through the rubber handle, and our daughter stealing it and taking it to college (she also runs). Really good marks on that one, but I don’t have it handy to compare side by side. Out of the box, you get the massage gun, one additional clip-on ball massager head (to accompany the dampener attachment already on the unit), a USB-C to USB-C cable, a printed manual and a collection of cards that present treatment plans guiding the user on ways to use the device. A couple of thoughts here on the unboxing- first, you will need to provide a charging block of some sort with a compatible amperage, it seems like our iPad charging block is the most efficient from a speed/time perspective. Mileage may vary if you have smaller or larger blocks, but there is a recommended range. It has an advertised 120-minute run time, we have not used it enough to test that as of yet. You may also need to keep the box for storage unless you have something else to store the device and other items, as there is no case or bag provided as was in the prior models. These are relatively low-cost add-ins that would round out the offering very nicely, considering the purchase price. The Theragun Prime is a very stout device at about two pounds, while it maintains that same ergonomic triangular shape that provides expansive access to most parts of your body (without needing help) it has been updated to expand the rubber exterior to basically the whole device. This really improves the overall grip immensely; while providing more areas for the dog to chew should I leave it out by accident. It is a pretty monolithic looking device, solidly black with a few small accents and having a small power button with a circular LED power-level dial being the only user interface. The Theragun has a 16mm stroke length and a 30 lb stall force, which is Therabody science that provides some of the most powerful deep-muscle penetrating treatment that you can get. My runner wife is prone to a couple of things that are common to the hobby – she gets IT band tightness that affects her quite often (hence the purchase of our first gen Theragun), and on occasion trigger points and knots will pop up in her legs. The standard head has been a great solution for easing her discomfort with the IT bands, given a couple of days to treat those areas. The smaller massage head was perfect for the trigger points as it provides direct pressure and attention to more precise pain areas. I am a bit of a different case study. Being in my early 50s and in a moment in time with little mobility and good exercise until I get my knee fixed, that degenerative area of my body has impacted other parts in strange but predictable ways. I favor the bad knee when I walk in general during a normal day, and am consequently getting pains in my opposite hip, getting tightened hamstrings that are not being worked out properly and recently I’ve gotten a somewhat chronic lower back pain that is likely from just sitting too much and moving too little. I’m a bit of a hot mess right now. This thing has been absolute gold for all of those maladies- whether it is receiving a lighter pressure ‘wash’ of my lower back area, or a more precise and firm attack of the hamstrings and knotted shoulders, the ability to dial the percussion up or down and spray or focus on certain body areas has made a dramatic difference in how I feel, and encourages more activity after being pretty sedentary some days. It definitely gets the blood flowing and has me feeling more normal. I look forward to post-surgery soon and being in a place where I can use this more in the same way that my wife does…after good daily exercise. It has made a noticeable difference in my day-to-day now, which makes the bridge to surgery feel less long and arduous. The device is Bluetooth enabled, and there is a partner app it can be paired to, but the app feels like it is in development. It has a few videos of guided routines and can track personal usage, but it would be great at some point if the video treatment portion could include outside user videos (or more Therabody provided videos) to expand the overall library. It seems like we use it a lot for pain management, and those types of routines aren’t necessarily there yet…but a community could build it! Overall, the Theragun is a very impressive device with powerful percussive action, would highly recommend to anyone looking to cool down after a great workout, or to lift yourself up a bit if you aren’t getting as much exercise as you should.

The Theragun Prime 6 is my second Therabody percussive massage gun. I also own a Theragun Sense, which has been an invaluable tool for my comfort and well-being during a physically challenging past couple years. I’ve been dealing with frequent intense upper body musculoskeletal pain, and my Theragun Sense has been a godsend. The Prime offers an even more robust and penetrating massage that resonates deeper into underlying tissue. The Sense has been phenomenal and doesn’t have any shortcomings; it just is not as strong as the Prime, nor is it designed to be. They’re differently tiered and priced models. In addition to the Sense, I also own a Hypervolt percussion massager. The Prime feels more comparable to the Hypervolt than the Sense as far as massage intensity. The Prime ships with a USB charging cable and two swappable attachments: a standard ball and dampener. It doesn’t include a case or pouch, so I store it inside the box for now when not in use. A QR code link to the Therabody app is provided in the documentation. The app can accommodate and support multiple Therabody devices. I manage my Theraface, Theragun Sense, and now the Prime through the app. The devices are quickly recognized and paired when first powered on. After powering on and connecting, I can select a guided treatment routine from the numerous available within the Therabody app. Filtering options include sorting by most popular, specific body parts, desired benefits, specific physical activities, or desired duration. Features like streak counts and awards help add to the motivation factor and promote regular use. Bluetooth connectivity between the devices and my smartphone has been reliable and has never disconnected unexpectedly on either the Sense or Prime. The Theragun Prime feels durable and well-constructed. The ergonomically designed body is easy to grasp and use. The unique handle allows me to reach nearly all areas of my body without aid. The Prime has a higher amplitude than the Sense which results in a deeper, more penetrating massage. The only way I can describe the sensation is to imagine a miniature jackhammer with a rubber attachment repeatedly striking the skin. The Prime motor is louder than both the Sense and Hypervolt but is not annoyingly loud. The ease of solo use makes the Prime preferable over the Hypervolt, but the Sense is also easy to handle and highly effective for daily use. I’ve been mostly using the Prime lately to help deal with chronic inflammation and tightness, but I still use the Sense almost as frequently. Both help to get blood flowing in stiff and even atrophied muscles like my current encapsulated shoulder and are helpful for improving and maintaining my flexibility for my outside physical therapy treatments. They have also been helpful for post workout recovery and muscle soreness in the arms, legs and back. The base Prime 6 is not compatible with the optional heated and cold Theragun attachments, so they are not an option with this model. The Prime lacks an onboard screen and embedded programs like those found on the Sense. Instead, it has vibrant status LEDs that show device power status and intensity level. The Prime can be used independent of the app by simply choosing an attachment, powering the device on, and selecting the desired intensity. This is the way I typically prefer to use the Prime on chronic conditions. The guided routines are nice and the AI powered coaching feature is helpful, particularly for new users, but once I establish which intensity, attachment, and duration work best for a specific body part, I usually bypass the app offerings and treat it manually with the massager. The app routines have a stricter approach with time limits, designated target areas, and the device automatically stops when the treatment program concludes. They also add additional steps like stretching in-between treatments of body parts. The routines are useful when appropriate, but I don’t always need some of the extra steps and they can be a bit too linear and focused on areas of no concern. That segues into my only problem with the Therabody app: not being able to find enough programs for my specific needs like pain management. There is a section for pain management, but it is limited with most of the routines focusing on fitness and pre/post workout prep and recovery. For example, I could only find one specific routine for shoulder pain. There are a couple other pain management routines that include the shoulder region during treatment, but only one specifically designated for shoulder pain management. With the sheer volume and frequency of shoulder injuries, I am hopeful that eventually there will be additional rehabilitative and pain management routine offerings in the future.

This therabody massager is the 6th generation model. It comes with two interchangeable heads. The massage unit features 5 speeds and has a digital meter that displays pressure levels. The unit is wireless and can be charged via USB-C to USB-C cable that's included. AC wall plug in not included. The powerfully motor does the job quickly. The heads lock in place to ensure a proper massage. The kit also includes illustrated cards that instruct how to use the massager for an efficient use in specific areas. There is also an app that can be loaded to your device to track massages. Although the massager kit may seem basic with two interchangeable heads, it does the job efficiently. The only complaint I have is that the kit does not come with a bag or storage unit when it is not being used. I would have to leave it in the box it came in to store when not in use. Overall, this is a great massager for the money. The unit seems very durable and made with quality materials. I would recommend this massager to anyone in the market for one.

The product so far has been very reliable. The instructional sheets on how to use the product on certain muscle groups have proven very beneficial. The ergonomic design of the unit helps elevate any muscle fatigue when using the product.

We like the Theragun Prime a lot. It’s been a great upgrade on our aging Hypervolt that’s currently taped together. It’s comfortable to hold, durable, and has smooth and consistent motion. The box includes the massage gun, one additional attachment, a USB charging cable, and a printed manual and some recovery guides. I would have liked to see a carrying case included, but overall it’s a good package. The build quality is excellent; we’ve had a few minor spills off of our ottoman onto the rug and it’s held up well. I haven’t tried to drop it any further than that, but I trust that it could take some more significant encounters with the ground. The standard ball comes pre-attached and can easily be pulled off and replaced by the dampener. The shape of the Theragun Prime lends itself well to being held in multiple different orientations and is generally comfortable to hold onto. It’s also relatively lightweight. There’s just one button for power and toggling between the different intensity levels. A long press turns the Theragun on and off. There is also an indicator for how much pressure you are applying as well, so you can make sure you’re applying it evenly across your muscles. Our primary use for the Theragun Prime is pain relief and it works great for back pain and muscle tension. There are 5 selectable intensity levels and it scales well between a light massage and the more powerful settings needed for stubborn areas. And the pressure indicator really helps with making sure you're working all the surfaces evenly. It’s generally pretty quiet for what it is as well. The area where the rod actuates in and out does get warm and if you were to stick your fingers on the rod between the attachment and Theragun directly it is just plain hot, though for me it never got hot enough that it would cause a burn. The app allows you to connect to the Theragun and offers some guided routines. It will also keep track of your own usage. The app is okay, but I think once you get more experienced with using the Theragun it will feel largely redundant. The battery life is listed at 120 minutes. I’m assuming this is a best-case scenario number, because we’ve put about 40 minutes of use into this and the battery is currently at 53%, so it’s on pace to fall short of that stated battery life, but again I’m assuming it’s going to vary greatly based on the pressure and the intensity. Overall I’m really happy with Theragun Prime. It’s easy to use and provided great relief for back and muscle pain.

Got this one sale, so the price was great. I'm deep in the Therabody ecosystem with their gen4 theragun pro leg compression system, Theragun mini, Theracup, powerdot. The 6th gen prime is a huge upgrade from the gen4 pro. It is more compact, recharges via usb-c and is more durable. You do lose out on the rotating head, but turns out I didn't really use it. This is way easier to travel with and throw in my gym bag.

Incredible power for such a small and ergonomic tool. The relief it provides from just a few minutes of routine use is beyond belief. App functionality provides another layer of value.

It is more of pulsating motion that a needing motion. Works out knots faster. The different levels can take out any deep tissue knots. You don't have to apply any pressure. Like the size.

This is very powerful. It was too big for my hands but it was great when my chiropractor used it on me in my visits. I would not recommend it if you are a small person. It may be too powerful.

Great product—high quality and very effective. It has been helping significantly with my back and leg pain. I only wish I hadn’t waited so long to purchase it; I should have bought it much sooner. It’s excellent for athletes or anyone dealing with muscle soreness or pain

Great massage gun. I had the first prime version. This 1 is quieter. Only thing the charger cord’s metal part was bent so I had to use a usb c charger I already had.

I literally use this everyday and it’s a game changer. I use it before and after volleyball, golf, quite honestly everything. Couldn’t recommend it more. I’d pay even more for it if I had to now that it’s apart of my daily routine
