I am very disappointed with this, and will not be using it. I studied the operating manual before even purchasing, but to me, it was misleading. It says you have to insert the probe past the "notch", or it could be damaged. The picture of the probe shows what looks like a notch at the tip, but apparently that is not THE notch. The actual notch is 2+5/8 inches above the tip of the probe. So let's say you insert it into the meat halfway through the meat to measure the temperature in the middle of the meat. Well, you have to insert the probe a MINIMUM of 2+5/8 inches, which means if you are just barely in the middle of the meat, the meat must be at least 5+1/4 inch thick! Well, that is fine for a turkey or large pork roast, but it certainly won't cut it for hamburgers, chicken pieces, etc. So it won't work for 90% of what I want it for. Very disappointed. It may work fine, but just be aware of the huge slab of meat requirement.

Easy to use. No issues this device. Just don’t use it too often to justify actually buying it.
