TOMMY BOY REISSUES EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION PRESSING OF DIGITAL UNDERGROUND'S InchTHIS IS AN E.P. Inch ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2021, AS PART OF TOMMY BOY'S 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION. With the recent passing of innovative artist/composer/MC, Shock G, once again bringing the genius of Digital Underground to the forefront of mainstream consciousness, new and old fans alike have been digging into the groups catalog as they seek solace and mourn the unexpected passing of the group's leader. While Digital Underground's debut album, InchS*x Packets, Inch set the tone for the groups meteoric rise and helped them forever change hip-hop, they continued to wow fans through the years with several gamebending projects. In 1991, they released their now cult-classic, InchThis is an E.P. , Inch which contained two singles, InchTie the KnotInch, and, InchSame SongInch, that were featured in the film, InchNothing But Trouble, Inch starring Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Demi Mooreand John Candy.The projects lead single, InchSame Song, Inch also holds major historical significance as it served as the debut single from then up-and-coming MC Tupac Shakur. Tupac was also featured in the official video portraying an African king alongside cameos from lead actor Dan Aykroyd and West Coast legends Dr. Dre and Eazy-E.     Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression.
