A: I had a similar situation. The easiest way is to cancel your subscription through Tidal and on the day it ends completely, sign up through Best Buy. As of now Tidal bills you however; when you sign up through Best Buy you are billed through Best Buy. You will still be able to use the same credentials (username and password) you used when you started service with Tidal therefore you do not need to start a new account. All your favorites and playlist will remain. Hopefully you read this on time.
Q: Can I cancel before my 3 month subscription end so I won't get charged if I don't like it?
A: Hello Jenny, Yes you can cancel before your three months end through your Best Buy Acct. You will not be able to cancel through Tidal since Best Buy is the vendor that's billing you. You have to log into your My Best Buy Acct and go to subscriptions to cancel or you can call Best Buy's 1-800 number. I hope this helps.
Q: What's the time period in which you must activate service (i.e. within how many days of purchase)?
A: O2nz, no one has answered you question, "What's the time period in which you must activate service (i.e. within how many days of purchase)?" for 11 days now, and I had the same question. I phoned Best Buy Front End Leader, Casey Cass, at store #112. He said the Tidal subscription is considered a software sale by Best Buy, and the activation code has no expiration. Although Casey assured me over the phone the activation code could be used at any time, he advised me that Best Buy employees are not permitted by Best Buy to put this information in writing. That explains why this question was not answered by any Best Buy employee. Casey advised if there is any problem using the activation code, Best Buy will not assist. Instead Best Buy refers you to Tidal. Note, https://support.tidal.com/hc/en-us/sections/360002539918-Best-Buy states that subscription problems will be handled by calling Best Buy. So good luck!
Q: 120$ per year is this Tidal HI-FI (the one cost 20$ a month?)
A: Yes it is.
A: It says in the specifications that it auto-renews at $119.
A: I’ve done it 3 times making a total of $3.12 for 9 months of music streaming.
A: Yes. So, tidal has several different qualities for music. The standard HiFi gives you hifi quality as your best option. Hifi plus, goes a step further and introduces master quality audio which streams at a much higher bit rate. There are some complicated discussions of whether or not master quality is noticeably better, but in some instances it can be noticeable. Notably in older songs, master quality audio is essentially a remastering of the song in a sense. Don’t quote me, I’m not a pro at the topic but that’s what I’ve gathered so far. Hope it helps!
A: This looks more like an answer than a question! HEOS cannot process MQA at hi-res through a Denon AVR. Another non-HEOS alternative may be to stream through the Windows PC Tidal app using a MQA-enabled USB DAC that provides a stereo cable connection to an analog input of a Denon AVR. This might also be done with an Android device having a USB-C port and a USB-C-to-USB adapter but it would need the USB Audio Player Pro app with MQA feature that is not free. I have not tried either of these.
