Good External Blu-ray Drive for Travel and Home
Happiness Posted
I picked this up because my laptop doesn't have a disc drive anymore, and it's been great so far. It was literally plug and play—no setup headaches at all. It's slim, lightweight, and doesn't take up much space in my bag, which is perfect when I'm traveling. I've used it with both DVDs and Blu-rays, and it's been fast and reliable every time. If you need an external drive that just works, I'd definitely recommend this one.

Works with MakeMKV - Uses BU40N drive

Was able to flash this drive using MakeMKV with LibreDrive and back up Blurays and DVDs. Drive contained reported as an HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N drive with FR09 firmware that I was able to update to 1.03. Confirmed to work on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

This blue ray burner is over the top with its compatibility with cd, dvd and blue-ray disks as well! It’s usb3.0 ensure fast speeds when burning. It’s slim and about the size of a small thin notebook, so you don’t need to worry about not having enough room. Overall, I would recommend this to a friend.

Didnt work. Damaged my disks.

Said they sent me the wrong product. Didn't look like it was wrong but regardless it scratched more than one disk because i was dumb enough to keep trying. Didn't read anything but dvd even though it had a blu ray label on box and device.

Not 4K UHD, Old old drive repackaged in a new case

Misleading title, not 4k UHD. Old old Matsushita drive repackaged in a newer case. Does not read or write BD-XL, does not read UHD 4K.
