A: Total By Verizon will issue you a phone number when you activate the phone. You can go to the Total By Verizon website, select a plan, and follow the directions. With that said, you are much better off finding a company other than Total By Verizon. Since Verizon bought the Total Wireless company, they have moved all of their customer support to a Call Center where they aren't able to help you with anything other than basic questions that are in their scripts. Search for good MVNO companies on the Internet and you'll find other options that are much better. The company you choose will send you another SIM card for free.
