Q: I was gifted a refurbished cell phone by a friend in another state and since it didn't have a SIM card she bought me a TotalByVerizon one. My question is how do I get a phone number so that I can start using the phone?

A: Total By Verizon will issue you a phone number when you activate the phone. You can go to the Total By Verizon website, select a plan, and follow the directions. With that said, you are much better off finding a company other than Total By Verizon. Since Verizon bought the Total Wireless company, they have moved all of their customer support to a Call Center where they aren't able to help you with anything other than basic questions that are in their scripts. Search for good MVNO companies on the Internet and you'll find other options that are much better. The company you choose will send you another SIM card for free.

Q: Is this compatible with Moto Play 4G?

A: Yes, however you need to check if it is compatible with HD voice, or make sure it's unlocked.

Q: How to install SIM card , do take the chip off the card board

A: You take a sim ejector tool (usually included inside sim kits) and find a hole in the phone to remove the sim. If your phone is an esim it's not possible to get it inside.

Q: Does this work for simple mobile phones

A: If your "simple mobile phone" uses a SIM card and works on the Verizon network, then yes. You can go to the Total By Verizon website (or any MVNO company) and see if your phone is compatible.

Q: will this let me use wifi/internet without a router and use just the phone

A: Yes, that is called mobile data, however you need to know that you will need a plan for that to work.

Q: Hi, Would this work with a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone?

A: As long as the cell phone is unlocked to work with any carriers
