This is probable one of the best routers in the market that serves my purpose. Setting up was a breeze and even beginners can do it on there own.

Archer AX1500 to replace an old TP-link router

Bought this to replace one that was being reported as having a flaw and was being hacked. The new one has a main SSID that does both 5g and 2.4 and 5GHz and a guest mode that will do 2.4 or 5GHz. The old one only had 2 so I matched the IP address for the 2.4 and the 5GHz the same as the old router and all the stuff I had before worked without a flaw. I took the old router and disabled the wifi and dhcp and made it into a network switch. Works great!! Very happy.

Much improvement over my old router

This things is way better than my previous version, my old router only gave me 25-40mb download speed and the range was very low. Once I replaced it with this one the download velocity increased to over 150mb and my son is happy. I had the service but not the right gear. The instructions were easy to follow and the installation was a piece of cake. No need to be tech savvy to install it.

Home Devices always disconnect

Too many issues, always have to reconnect thermostats, water sprinkler, swimming pool hub. Also, the signal is intermittent at times. Wouldn’t buy this again.

I ordered it on line and spent several hours trying to set it up. I gave up and returned to the store and bought the same brand I previously owned.

Hi Techthrifty,
Thank you for your review. If you are having trouble connecting to the Internet during or after setting up the router, it may be that your modem's MAC (Media Access Control) binding needs to be released and renewed so it can provide an IP address (and Internet) to the Router. This can typically be done using the following steps:
1. Unplug the power from both your router and cable modem
2. Unplug the coax cable from the modem
3. Re-connect power ONLY to your cable modem
4. Wait until the cable modem is fully booted, then re-connect coax
5. Re-connect power to the router and connect it to the modem via Ethernet
This process should release and renew the MAC binding, allowing your modem to connect to the router.
