A: You can use the camera without a sd card, and receive notifications, and use motion tracking about activity, but unless you subscribe to kasa care cloud storage or use the sd card you will not be able to see anything outside of real-time monitoring. I like that it has a sd card for storage rather than paying a monthly fee to kasa if I want to review footage that I might be missing. I also understand that there has been continuing problems with kasa monitoring and that is why kasa now offers sd card storage so that they can eventually end the kasa storage program rather than fix their on-going problems.
A: Yes, both smartphones will need to be logged into the same Kasa account that the camera is registered to, on the Kasa app.
Q: Is there a way to delete the sd cards videos without removing from the device?
A: Hi! The Kasa Spot Pan Tilt utilizes the SD card (not included) for 24/7 continuous recording. This means there are not "videos" in separate files, as it is one continuous video recording. As a result, if you would like to delete the continuous video file, you would need to format the card and wipe its contents entirely.
A: Actually it is not wireless even though it states that it is. The statement wireless is referring to no cable required from computer to camera. It does have and AC power cord which is actually a USB plug and wire. It operates Wi-Fi connecting through your home router there is an app that you use with it also monitoring your home when you’re away it has a two way microphone in which you may speak to the occupant while you are away.
Q: Will it still record to the SD card even if the internet is down?
A: Yes, I own two and can confirm it records to SD without internet.
Q: How long can this device stream live for?
A: it seems to go for about 15 minutes or close to it before it asks if I still want to watch. If I press continue, then it continues. If I do not, then it ends 'til I initiate it again.
A: It automatically goes to B+W in lowlight conditions. It will go back to color when it detects enough light.
A: Mine still works. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
