I finally upgraded my home security with the Tapo DL110, and it is a total game-changer! If you're looking for a smart door lock, here is why I'm obsessed: Super Easy DIY Install: As a woman living alone, I was worried about the setup, but it was incredibly easy to install by myself! No professional help required. Total Control via App: It connects to Wi-Fi, so I get instant notifications whenever someone enters. The best part? It integrates perfectly with my other Tapo home cams in one app! No More Startling Knocks: I used to jump whenever a delivery person knocked loudly, but the Tapo DL110 has a built-in doorbell with a soft, gentle chime that’s much more pleasant. My Finger is the Key: The fingerprint recognition is so fast! I love not having to carry keys anymore. Plus, I can easily share a PIN code with visitors or family when I'm not home. Total Peace of Mind: It locks automatically, so I never have to double-check if I closed the door properly. I honestly can’t recommend the Tapo DL110 enough. It’s sleek, smart, and makes my life so much easier. Highly recommended!

This door lock is awesome! It replaced a Kwikset key pad that was going through 4 AA batteries once a month. We use this on our home and people are in and out all day. It’s only been installed for a couple of weeks but the rechargeable battery is still at 100%. The lock itself is smooth, quick, and quiet. Installation was super simple. We just popped the old one off and installed this one. The lock has lots of features… digital screen, fingerprint, passcode, voice notifications, doorbell, a hidden keyhole. The app is very user friendly and easy to set up. You can turn off the doorbell and voice prompts if you want. The lock has WiFi and Bluetooth. Everyone can have their own code and fingerprint set up. You can allow access at different times. This lock is a great value for the money and I would highly recommend it. Plus, it’s very modern and sleek looking!

I have looked for the “perfect” smart lock for me for a long time, and eventually give up because something was missing. This lock has everything I was looking for; codes for entry, fingerprint scanning, easy to access keyhole if battery dies, and emergency power source port (if battery dies and you need to use a battery backup to gain entry). The big bonus was that this comes with 2 spare keys, which most will, but many other brands come with keys that are hard to or impossible to get copied- these are shaped like a regular house key and were simple to copy at the machine in Home Depot. It did take 5-6 hours to charge the battery so that was something to consider when installing. I have a lot of KASA devices and those now run through the Tapo app, so this was incredibly easy to add to the app and set up features. Install was incredibly wasy and took less than 10 minutes, and i was able to remove the gross/dated brass doorknob and put in a “passage” lever which gives it a much cleaner look. Its been installed for almost a week and we have not had any issues and have figured out what time works best for us for auto lock ( I think the default was 30 seconds) and then adding more fingerprints so we can gain access no matter what hand / finger we use. We havent really used the pinpad bc the fingerprint scan is so quick and has been very reliable. Also disabled the doorbell feature, as we already have one, and adjusted the audio for the “ locked/ unlocked” announcement, but it is nice to have vs turning off completely, because it gives me peace of mind.

Very easy to install (even though I’m not really a DIY person) and the app and technical setup are pretty simple as well. Works perfectly and the battery life is excellent. Mine is indoors since I have a condo unit, but it seems very durable

I own around 12 different tapo cameras, 10 smart light switches, and several smart plugs and now the door lock. All products work well with the same app! It is nice that I can lock the doors and turn off the lights all from my phone, especially if I forgot and had to leave the house. No specifically the door lock. My door already had a dead bolt in it so set up was super easy. Just uninstalled the old lock(two screws), followed the simple instruction and screwed this one Into old existing hole. No drilling required unless you want to put in the one additional/optional screw. Battery life has been great so far. Still reads 100% after a week or so having it installed. Never loses connections. Setting up the optional finger prints were very easy using the app. It also has the ability to set up profiles for each person in your house or even relatives so they can let your dogs out while your on vacation. You can set up one time pins for family or friends to use. Feels sturdy. Overall great product.

Did a lot of research before buying this and I am so glad to have installed this on my front door. Ticks every single box - affordable, versatile, and does the job. Can unlock by app, fingerprints, code, and keys. Supported by smart assistants like Alexa. Can literally ask Alexa to lock and unlock the door using just the voice. Automatically locks the door after a certain period (can decide the time in the app). Never have I ever been this pleased by installing a smart tech hardware. Would 12/10 recommend.

The TP-Link Tapo DL110 Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt Lock is a really great smart lock, with both PIN code and fingerprint unlocking. It is super simple to set up and use, and provides the additional functionality of limited-use and one-time codes, which can be super helpful for guests and service workers. The main benefits of the Tapo DL110 are: • Super easy to set up • Rechargeable battery with long lifespan • Fits multiple door widths and setbacks • Extra functionality to add time-bound or temporary codes, and train multiple fingerprints for numerous users The drawbacks of the DL110 are few, but they exist: • Geo-fencing smart controls are fiddly and I couldn't get my desired control to work properly • Manual unlock keys are not compatible with Kwikset SmartKey system • Deadbolt is slightly thinner than average, meaning it needs the Tapo strike plate to be fully surrounded when set I replaced my existing battery-operated numerical keypad deadbolt with the Tapo DL110 Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt, and it took about 15 minutes from start to finish. The whole process was extremely smooth, and the included hardware is high quality. The box contains everything you might need to mount the DL110 on multiple kinds of doors, based on the thickness of the door and the setback of the hole. I like the online instructions, paper guides, and stickers. Luckily, the DL110 fit exactly where my old deadbolt was, with no changes except un-screwing the old hardware and adding the new stuff in its place. During the process, I chose to keep my existing strike plate, because it extends along the full width of the jamb and provides some extra security. This was the only let down in the installation process, as the TP-Link deadbolt is slightly thinner than the full width of the opening on my strike plate. This isn't a big deal, but does mean that the door can move back and forth a bit when the deadbolt is set and someone pulls on the door handle. Setting up the new lock in the Tapo app was also extremely easy, and in no time I had added a new admin code and my fingerprint as unlock options. I was also able to add my wife and kids' fingerprints to the app as well, and it only took a few minutes. As I mentioned above, one other thing that I found less than ideal is the compatibility of the backup keys in the set. The TP-Link lock comes with two emergency backup keys, in case you ever need to open the door after the battery has gone dead. These keys are not compatible with the Kwikset SmartKey system, which I use on the rest of my doors to re-key the locks on the fly. If the TP-Link key had been compatible, I would have re-keyed my other locks to its shape and just been able to carry a single key for all my doors. As it is, the keys look more like the Schlage design, so maybe they would work better with that company's locks. The final bit of difficulty I had with the Tapo lock was setting up notifications. I work from home and spend a lot of time here with my family, so I really don't need to receive a ping on my phone whenever anyone locks or unlocks the door. What I *would* like is a way to say "only alert me if the door unlocks while I'm away from home." I tried setting up a Smart Action to do this in the app, but couldn't get it to work. My final word on the Tapo DL110 is that it is a great smart lock. Even though I spent a substantial amount of this review picking nits, I really do enjoy using the lock, and I think it's a very high-quality addition to my smart home setup.

Great deadbolt/smart lock. It comes with everything you need to get you started. They include the deadbolt, fingerprint/numlock/padlock, battery and all you need to install it (except for tools of course). Installing it was easy, they include a clear quick install guide, however if you start the app, it can also take you step by step with a clear video you can follow. I did and it was as easy as removing my old bolt lock and installing the new one (still, make sure you have the required door thickness and how far the bolt hole is located from the edge of the door, they do include also a template and sticker to perfectly align the lock and get it straight). The battery is removable and it has a USB Type C port to charge it (make sure to charge it fully, it took mine quite a few hours to fully charge, it has a charging indicator LED light). Once I had it installed and I inserted the cable and the removable battery I was greeted by a faint voice, it has a speaker and was saying "ready for setup" (I later increased the volume, you can change this in the Tapo app). In the app I clicked on add device and it was immediately recognized, I had to add my home's WIFI credentials and it connected to WIFI, it then checked if there was a firmware update (none). I named the door lock and I was ready to use it. I like the Tapo app it is very intuitive and has tons of options for this door lock. You can set emergency codes, add several fingerprints, permanent codes and also guest ones with expiration dates. It can lock and unlock in many ways (fingerprint, codes, Bluetooth, and remotely too via WIFI). The lock as a speaker too and can act as a doorbell too. The feature I'm loving the most is the remote WIFI unlock, I can lock and/or unlock my door and let visit in or my delivery guy in and the remotely lock it (I do have camera on my front door too), I wish this door lock had a camera too, it would have made it the complete package! Battery life has been good and has barely gone down for me, although my front door doesn't see that much traffic, I don't know how much it would last if it does. Good thing is that you can easily remove the cover and charge the battery really quick (I wish they included a 2nd backup battery though). The deadbolt seems very sturdy like any regular one, with the addition of being as smart one, highly recommend it if you want to modernize and secure your door, it will make your life easier, specially if such door sees lots of traffic!!

The deadbolt lock feels sturdy and looks neat. The product can withstand rain and dust as it has IP 65 weatherproof rating. My use case is having one installed on the garage door so delivery guy can securely deliver package when I’m on holiday. This product is exactly the product for that purpose. Before getting one though, be sure that the product would fit your door. Product installation is easy and fast enough. The manual provides easy to understand, step-by-step and thorough instructions. It takes a simple screwdriver to install the product. The best thing is the deadbolt lock operates by a rechargeable battery so zero wiring is needed. The deadbolt lock connects to your home Wifi network, so you are always in the know how much battery is left on the lock, among other things. Once installed, you must calibrate the lock. I used existing old strike plate as the door was previously installed with normal deadbolt lock. It worked fine to lock and unlock the door and the whole process was smooth. However, the auto lock function did not work normally because of not using the new strike plate that came with the lock. If I set auto lock in the app, the lock would continue attempting to lock the door continuously, which was totally unnecessary because the door had already been locked. Another glitch due to not using Tapo’s strike plate was that unlocking by fingerprint did not work properly. It made the door to lock instead of unlocking as intended. It’s not a major problem for me because the digital keypad always works fine. But yeah, should have been using the new strike plate that comes with the product in the first place. The deadbolt lock works by fingerprint, app or the digital keypad. There’s also physical backup key to manually open the door and the lock works with Google Home and Alexa. The digital keypad is my favorite as it is very easy to use. The screen is bright enough in outdoor environment. It also has scramble feature, so people won’t be able to guess the combination. The combination can be easily changed through the Tapo app so it’s perfectly safe to give away the combination for one time use to the delivery guy. Also, fingerprint registration is easy enough and I can add the whole family to register without a problem. Also neat is that the app let you know who is using the lock and it even keeps a log of activities. Overall, this is definitely a solid product. Zero complaint from the rest of the family who use the door daily.

Awesome lock. Instalation: Very easy to install for me, no need to drill anything, just removed my old regular bolt lock, installed mounting plate and then installed lock on it. Lock looks very nice and modern and front possitioned fingerprint reader is accessable regadless which way your door swings when opening, right or left. Features Keypad is very nice lit and bellow the keypad is ring button. Yes, I was very surprised to see this ring button and I think it's very cool but since my home has storm/screen door I have no use for it because in my case it's not visible. Once you righ the buttom lock have small but powerful speaker on internall part where ring will bell and small led light will turn on around the button iself. This speaker also have voice notifications when lock is locked or unlocked. Another cool thing on this lock is that is comes with 2 physical spare keys and actual key opening is located and hiden under the right bell button which is eaay accessable by pulling the ring button out. This lock beside finger print and physical keys will also give you access by the bluetooth on your phone, single access (one time code), regular code or application itself. It does work with Alexa and Google assistant. Application: Application itself will manage whole lock. If you setting up or managing user, fingerprint or access code you will initiate the process on the app itself. Also controling the volume of the ring or voice notification is also contoled by the app iself. One of my favorite features is access log which will show you when door was unlocked or locked and by using which method or/and which user. Lock has option for auto lock and it does offer times after how lock lock will lock itself. Mine is set to lowest whick is 15 seconds. Battery: Now my favorite part is battery which is promising one year life and can be charged simply by using your phone usb type c charger. Pros: Easy instalation Nice look Fingerprint resistant Fingerprint access Lite up keypad Pin access Hiden keyhole Physical key access Ring Notifications Easy managment Remote operating Access log records Cons None for me

So far I have really been loving my new smart lock. I replaced my old keypad smart lock in about 10 minutes. I did spend about a half hour trying to carve out the tumbler in my door frame, but I chose to do that instead of leaving it with the old tumbler. But replacing the entire keypad and lock was only about 10 minutes. Once instaslled, setting up the lock with the Tapo app is incredibly easy. It asks you if you have the lock installed, if you don't it will walk you through it. If you have, then it recognizes the lock and you connect to your network. It does a quick calibration and you are ready to go. The lock itself works perfectly. It has never lost connectivity and it has worked every time I have used the smart features. I can lock and unlock via the app, via the number pad, or via finger print reader. You can also change the keypad to display numbers or dots for a pattern. This is very cool. You can also register several fingerprints. Please be mindful that if your door swells up or if it doesn't close tight, the automatic tumbler will jam. This is for any door and any lock, this is not a design flaw. The lock can also speak when it is locked and unlocked, but I disabled it. The doorbell is a super cool feature. I am using this for my back door so I don't need this as my main front door bell, which I have a smart video doorbell. It chimes loud enough to hear in the same room, but you wiil not hear it if you are in other parts of the house unless it is very quiet. I still think it is very cool. Overall, I have been thoroughly enjoying my new smart door lock. I have programmed everyone in my household's fingerprints and it has been working flawlessly. I highly recommend.

I’ve never been so happy to replace my electric door lock as I have been with this one. Typically, I have terrible luck with locks like these due to frequent battery issues, app problems, or overly complicated setups. This lock is completely different. I’ve installed many electronic locks over the years, and my litmus test is always to see if I can install the lock without instructions. I installed this one in under 5 minutes and had it set up and running within 10 minutes. It’s so smooth and much easier to use than my previous locks. One of the big highlights is how fast the fingerprint recognition works. It’s not only fast but also very accurate, having denied me access only once so far. I also love that it has a built-in doorbell and a hidden keyhole underneath. The best feature of this lock is its rechargeable battery. This indicates that the lock is very battery-efficient since it relies on its own battery pack. My other locks burn through batteries in 2-3 months, but this lock claims to have a 1-year battery life. I believe this is true because my lock has been installed for several days and is still at 100%, despite frequent use. One downside is the interval timing between automatic door locks. The maximum amount of time you can set this feature to is 15 minutes. I generally prefer 1-2 hours, as my kid is always running in and out of the house. Aside from this one issue, the lock is absolutely perfect. The touchscreen is very responsive and easy to use, the sounds are pleasing, the colors are vibrant, and the app responds lightning fast. I get a notification instantly every time the door is locked/unlocked or the doorbell rings. My previous lock would sometimes alert me at 3 AM, telling me the door was unlocked, only to discover the push notification had been delayed by many hours. Overall, I’m thrilled with this lock!

Easy install that took no longer than 20 minutes including the removal of our old smart lock that had been there for 10 years. It’s not my first rodeo. So it may take longer for first timers. However, it was a necessary and nice update. This Tapo unit is super fast and truly locks and unlocks in just 1 second. I do hope that with time it doesn’t slow down. It was also breeze to add to the app. That took about 2 minutes and we were up and running. There’s no accidental locking when walking too close or swiping the lock as we would experience with our other branded lock. We use this for our garage door so this is perfect for all of us to get in with just a touch of our finger when carrying loads. Having alternative ways to get in is also a plus. It also includes a quick emergency charge option if the battery dies or you don’t have the master key, but also giving you the ability to open using the app. You don’t have to use the doorbell feature, but if you do, you don’t need a separate bridge or hub. The sound comes directly from the unit and will also display on phone. The notifications are quite speedy delivered to your phone within seconds and it’ll notify you of who the person was who opened or locked the door (if you have set up multiple members in app). It’ll tell you how the door was opened, whether by manual lock or if it automatically locked for you. You can set up the length of time after the lock has been opened to auto lock it. It even announces as you open or lock the door with a pleasant voice, which you can completely turn off or adjust volume. After several failed attempts to enter with fingerprint or code login it will alarm you and it will lock you out as a safety precaution which is great but make sure you have your phone with you to unlock it or else you may be stuck. I’m not sure how long it would take to reset where you can try your finger or manual code again but your device is the key or you must have the physical key. The app will also show you an event log of who, when and how someone accessed your home. The app offers other options of customization but not tons. It’s easy to use and navigate. The unit is nice to look at and a bit smaller than what it replaced, but there are a couple things I didn’t like or miss. One is the bolt is much smaller than other bolts I’ve installed and even compared to the old one I removed. It wiggles around and I just don’t like that it doesn’t sit tight and securely in its socket (comparison picture included). The second is the lack of randomization of the numbers on the pad. With my old lock the numbers would be randomized so if you had kids or someone behind you that you didn’t want to know your exact door code it would be difficult for them to figure it out. The group of numbers would change places each time you tried to access entry. This unit has static numbers so anyone standing too close can easy acquire your code with a glance. It’s not a biggie or deal breaker in my case because of the location of our lock but it was a feature I appreciated when I had it. We are very happy with this updated smart lock and would recommend it to friends and family.
