Trees - Freed of This Flesh - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Re-issue of 'And Also the Trees' live album recorded in Lausanne, Switzerland on 24th October 1986 during one of the bands early European tours. Unavailable on any since the early 90's the new, remixed, CD only, edition with the original LP cover artwork includes 4 extra tracks, previously unseen photos and a foreword written by the band's singer Simon Huw Jones. This multi-track mobile studio recording captures an especially intense performance from the cult, English post-punk band as they were performing songs from recently released classic album 'Virus Meadow' as well as their early singles and debut album. Having toured in the UK, alone as well as with The Cure it was in 1986 that they discovered to their surprise that they were better known in mainland Europe. They were, as the sleeve notes say, Inchslightly out of control but on the riseInch. Album Tracks 1. A Room Lives in Lucy 2. Maps in Her Wrists and Arms 3. Twilights Pool 4. Gone Like the Swallows 5. Jacob Long's reductionist rhythmic ambient vessel, Earthen Sea, ebbs towards a more purely elemental state on his second excursion for Kranky, Grass And Trees. He describes the creative process as one of Inchsimplifying things as much as possible,Inch designing uncluttered spaces traced in nothing but breath, field recordings, and Inchsounds that could be played by hand but weren't.Inch The results feel decentralized but dynamic, low-lit evocations of ambiguous nocturnal environments-dub techno disassembled into stray pulses and spare parts. It's a music both interior and infinite, languorous yet transformative, made in the outer boroughs of a metropolis but existing in it's own liminal wilderness.Long's vision is a grounding one, rooted in the physical body but attuned to larger currents InchIn response to living in a fairly hectic city, and at a very hectic time for the world at large, creating something more drawn back and restrained felt appropriate.Inch Album Tracks 1. Existing Closer or Deeper in Space 2. Window, Skin, and Mirror 3. Spatial Ambiguity 4. A Blank Slate 5. Living Space and Usually 6. Shallow, Shadowless 7. Less and Less

When the going gets tough, metal gets heavier. Sylosis have always been devoted to the fine art of breaking necks, but in recent times, the urgency of their mission has grown exponentially. Still surfing on a wave of acclaim and the effusive fan response to their last album, 2023's A Sign Of Things To Come, Josh Middleton's virtuoso wrecking crew are poised to their latest and best album, The New Flesh. A towering testament to destructive riffing, incisive melody and refined brute force, the band's seventh full-length offering is a powerful showcase for the state of Sylosis in 2025 lethal, uncompromising, and avowedly metal as all hell. Album Tracks 1. Beneath the Surface 2. Erased 3. All Glory, No Valour 4. Lacerations 5. Mirror Mirror 6. Spared from the Guillotine 7. Adorn My Throne 8. New Flesh 9. Everywhere at Once 10.
