Over the years, we’ve tried many different versions of headphones for gaming. In fact, we have a dedicated headphone set for our PS5, Xbox SX, Steam Deck, PC, and now the Switch 2. That may sound excessive, and it probably is, but when you have multiple gamers in the family fighting for loose headsets, it can get a bit wild. We’ve had several Turtle Beach sets, and I know they can vary in quality because, as a company, they try to offer headsets across the board of value and quality. At $90, I expected something on the lower end, but they are exactly what my son needed. They’re not fragile by any means, but they are not expensive enough to worry about either. $90 is still more expensive than many other cheaper options. But here you get a proven brand and features that you won’t find on many cheaper headsets. For example, the mic boom, which turns the microphone on and off with a simple flip, is awesome for when he doesn’t want the mic on. He doesn’t play online with his friends often, but when he does, he loves the idea of quickly “muting” the mic with the flip instead of a button or through the settings. They also offer plush, cushioned earcups, which are invaluable when you play for more than 30 minutes. They’re lightweight without feeling “plasticky” or super cheap. From what I can tell, they’re constructed well. We’ve had our fair share of broken headsets, and these don’t feel like they will break easily. At just 8.3 ounces, they’re easy to wear for extended periods. When my son put the headphones to the test, he was happy with the sound quality. I played a few minutes of Metroid. Turtle Beach has a feature called “Superhuman Hearing” that is supposed to make every detail stand out, and it seems to do the trick. It’s rich enough for games, especially when sound matters (i.e., stealth or multiplayer). There is a transmitter or Bluetooth to help you connect. We find the transmitter adapter works very well. It’s nice that the Switch 2 has two USB-C ports, so you can charge using the bottom and place the module on top. The noise-canceling is highly effective, immersing you in your game and blocking out distractions. Turtle Beach claims 40 hours of battery life, comparable to most headsets on the market today. The four built-in EQ settings, plus the ability to define up to five custom EQs, let you fine-tune your audio to your preferences. My son doesn’t dig into it much, but when I played around with the preset EQs, I didn’t see the need to dive into customization. All in all, these are an excellent choice for the Switch 2. They have the same colorway and, aesthetically, look like they belong with the Switch.

The Stealth 500 is a great headset to pair with the Nintendo Switch 2. It comes in colors that match the console, provides amazing sound, and is very comfortable to wear. The dongle provides an easy way to just plug and play while Bluetooth connection works for both the Switch and mobile phone. *What’s included?* This headset comes with a wireless dongle and a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging. *Quality of Product/Build* The headset is extremely lightweight and comfortable. It is easy to forget I am wearing it. The earcups have deep cushions that provide a high degree of noise cancelation. The top is lined with a band that can be adjusted for smaller heads, but the headset is not retractable and does not fold in any way, so portability may be an issue. The mic folds up and neatly tucks away into the earcup. It is located on the left cup as are all of the buttons and it is flip-to-mute. There are two scrolls located toward the backside for easy thumb control – one is for volume and the other is mic monitoring volume. All other buttons are easy to find too, with varying sizes. *Connection* The headset can be used via dongle or Bluetooth. The great thing about having the dongle option is that you can have it simultaneously connected to your phone through Bluetooth and change settings with the Swarm II app in real time. The one downside about using a dongle is – kids. I have already had instances where it has been misplaced by my kids, especially since it needs to come off for the Switch to charge. I usually plug it into the headset’s charging port to keep it from getting lost but my kids absentmindedly just leave it laying around. *App* The app has certain features that really help elevate competitive advantage in FPS games. The main one is Superhuman hearing – it has three presets: legacy, footsteps, and gunshots. There is also a slider to tell it how much amplification you want. It does alter the rest of the sounds and music though. Besides that, there is also sound presets and options to save up to five custom presets for easy access. Plus, battery life percentage, mic sensitivity and volume, auto-shut off time, and firmware updates. *Sound* The sound is phenomenal with this headset, with richness and depth. The bass, mids, and highs all come through harmoniously. While there is no noise cancelation, the ear cushions provide a lot of it on their own. As I mentioned above, the sound footsteps and gunshots can be heightened to really give you a higher edge over your competition, and it works exceptionally well. *Mic* The mic captures sound well and it has a good amount of customization available. Output stays level when speaking regardless of any tonality changes. It captures whispers perfectly and neutralizes sudden exclamations to protect the rest of the listeners’ ears. The Noisegate setting is good but acts odd when put at around 50%. It causes my voice to waver in and out as I speak. At any other point in the slider, it functions well though. *Battery Life* Battery life is 40 hours so depending on gameplay it can go nearly a month before needing to recharge. *Conclusion* Overall, this is a great headset to pair with the Nintendo Switch 2. It gives so much control to sound and mic settings, is extremely lightweight and comfortable, and has dual connection options. It is good for adults and kids alike and it is honestly hard to go wrong with this option.

I had the pleasure of trying out the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Wireless Gaming Headset for the Nintendo Switch 2 and to be honest, (I’ve had a lot of Turtle Beach headphones over the years, and so far, they have all been great), this one is no exception. At around $90, it feels like an affordable headset that focuses on comfort, solid wireless performance, and easy use across different devices, and as a bonus, it’s the first officially licensed wireless headset for the Nintendo Switch 2 and I was able to use it with the original Switch as well. I just had to purchase a USB A to C adapter for it to connect wireless, but BT connection worked as well, although it wasn’t as consistent via BT. Design and Comfort • The headset is really lightweight, and the floating headband helps keep pressure off the top of my head during longer gaming sessions. • The memory foam ear cushions feel comfortable, easy to clean, and help block out some outside noise, but not all of it. • The buttons and volume controls are all on the earcups, which makes them easy to reach without having to stop what I’m doing, and they will take some time getting use to them if you have not had Turtle Beach wireless headphone before. They are consistent with some of the older ones that I had to button familiarity is appreciated. Sound • With the 40mm amplified drivers, the sound comes through clearly, especially dialogue and higher-pitched details in games. • The bass is there, but it does feel a little light at first. Luckily, the Swarm II app gives you presets and adjustments if you want to tune the sound to your liking. • The Superhuman Hearing mode is useful for multiplayer games because it makes important sounds, like footsteps, easier to pick up and this is one lesser used feature that I don’t really care about, so YMMV with that. Connection and Battery • The 2.4GHz wireless USB-C transmitter connects smoothly to the Nintendo Switch 2 (and PC)… I didn’t notice any lag while using it in handheld or docked mode. • The QuickSwitch button is a nice feature because it lets me jump between game audio and Bluetooth from my phone without much hassle. • 40-hour battery life is one of the biggest strengths. I wouldn’t have to worry about charging it constantly, and the quick-charge option is helpful when I forget to plug it in. Mic • I like that the flip-to-mute microphone tucks into the headset when I’m not using it, so it doesn’t get in the way during single-player games. The microphone flip action is a bit stiffer than I like, and I find that I have to use my other hand to hold the headset when I close it or open it at times so to keep the headset from moving too much. • The mic sounds clear enough for chatting with friends in games, and I have had no complaints from my buddies on the other side about quality or volume. • It does a good job of cutting out background noises and again, no complaints from my online friends. Overall The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 feels like a dependable and budget-friendly wireless headset that gets the important things right: comfort, battery life, and easy connectivity. The bass could be stronger, but the dual-wireless setup and Switch 2 support make it a great choice for those who want something simple, comfortable, and reliable. I am very glad I chose this headset to complement my Nintendo Switch 2, and it is going to make playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 that much better when it comes out.

Having a great pair of gaming headphones is important. It is a great way to fully immerse yourself in whatever game that you’re playing. It didn’t occur to me that I did not have a dedicated pair of headphones for my Switch 2. That being said let’s have a look at the Turtle Beach Stealth headphones. The box is small and lightweight and so are headphones themselves. Holding them in hand they don’t feel cheap and brittle. The color scheme matches the Switch 2 as well. You’ll find that the headband is the same joycon blue, and there are rings on the headphone’s that also match the joycon orange color. That was a neat little feature that I found to be fun aesthetically. You’ll find that a wireless transceiver and a usb c cable is included. That is all that you’ll need to get your game on. The left side is where you’ll find the buttons and the hidden microphone. This can be used Bluetooth & Wireless with the included adapter. I plugged the USB C adapter into the bottom of the switch and it is an effortless experience. My headphones were immediately recognized. Pairing it to my phone was simple enough too, place the headphones into pairing mode and voila you’re good to go. Going forward I will refer to these as the TBS and they are comfortable, no pressure felt on your head, the fabric band is comfortable and there was no fatigue on my ears, or discomfort with prolonged usage. Like with any pair of headphones you’ll obviously sweat a tad but it isn’t within reason or expectation to be honest. It isn’t a deal breaker by any means. The volume gets loud, and the sound clarity is good for gaming, music and phone calls. The pull-out mic is a neat feature to have you won’t struggle to hear or be heard by the party on the other end of your call or gaming session. There is a lot to like about these but my favorite is the quick switch button that lets you change from wireless to BT. :::Pros & Cons::: Pros: - Comfortable - Easy to use & setup - Wireless & Bluetooth - Good sound balance - Great battery life - Bulit in flip microphone - Dedicated quick switch button Cons: - None While the TBS aren’t new per se as they exist for other platforms these are specifically designed for the Switch 2. I love everything about them and they aren’t uber expensive either they are about as much as a game. All in all, there is a lot to love here and no downside in my opinion if you are searching for a dedicated switch 2 pair of headphones then these should be your first pick. Have a look you won’t be disappointed.

As I opened the box, I saw that everything was nicely packaged, out the box, I found an USB A to USB C cable to charge the set. The dongle that connects via 2.4 GHz that has great connection, documentation and finally the Stealth 500 that looks cool and great. The good value headset delivers great sound, much better than I expected and I was able to connect it to the switch and right away they worked, I was able to connect them to my USB C on my laptop and they worked right away too. The sound is great; the memory foam keeps some noise out while keeping what we want to hear in them. The headset is light in weight so they are very nice and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They do deliver great Bass as well as great highs and neither is overwhelming. The Stealth 500 can connect via the 24 GHz and can be switched to Bluetooth with just a push of a button so there is not much to do other than that. When it comes to the mic, it is easy to mute by moving the mic over and to unmute just move it right back and done, best of all the mic hides away when not in use to prevent it from braking. The volume on both the mic and When it comes to battery life, they do work for a long time 40 hours is more than enough for us in our house, The headset is adjustable with 3 different sizes on each side of the headphones and they can be stretched out easily and they are strong enough that I do not think they break easily. Something else that works great is the Swarm II app to customize the audio and I was able to do so on my laptop. Overall it is another great set from Turtle Beach; they are perfect for on the go with our Switch 2 or for the entire family. I have my premium Turtle Beach set just for me while we can all share the Stealth 500.

When I was looking to upgrade my audio setup for gaming on my Switch 2, these Turtle Beach headphones seemed like exactly what I wanted—and they haven't disappointed. I’ve really been enjoying the immersive audio while playing Splatoon Raiders and the Zelda series, which is a huge step up from my old earbuds. While I haven’t had the chance to test the mic in-game yet, it has worked great for phone calls. Setup was a breeze. I just connected the included USB-C adapter to my Switch 2, and it paired automatically. I also connected to my phone via Bluetooth, making it easy to switch back and forth if I need to take a call while gaming. As for comfort, it took me a minute to realize I needed to unclip the headband to adjust it. Even at the largest setting, it feels a tad tight on my larger head, but it doesn't deter from the overall experience. My only real wish is that they included a carrying case, since I usually keep my Switch in my bag. The companion mobile app and PC software make it easy to dial in your sound. You can tweak the EQ to your liking, and your profile stays locked in even when you move between devices. Overall, I really like this headset. It offers great features and comfort without costing a ton, plus the 40-hour battery life is fantastic. Being able to connect to two devices at once is a great bonus, making this an easy recommendation for any Switch 2 owner.

I always enjoyed the turtle beach products and was excited to see they have one matching the Switch color theme. It was very easy to unbox, although I would have loved to see it packages a little better to prevent it from bouncing around inside. It does have some foam spacers to help prevent the mic or ear pieces from being squished. Right out of the box it was easy to setup and came already halfway charged. Bluetooth pairing occurred very quickly and was able to enjoy music and gaming. The headset rests comfortably on my head although when resting on my large ears they get uncomfortable after long periods of play. Speaking of long periods of play, I started using this headset right out of the box, gamed for many hours and still have not had to charge the headset. The charge port is USB-C so works with any cable of that style plus being USB-C should be a faster charge. I do like how it comes with a dongle for those who wish to use that connection instead of Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the range of the dongle is not huge, its great for a large guest / living room however do not expect to sneak off to the kitchen to grab a quick bite. Bluetooth is even worse of a distance however it could be the switch strength itself so not holding it against Turtle Beach. The sound quality is good, I would have liked better bass and treble pitches but overall its good for average use. The mic is not flexible on positioning which is very bothersome when trying to match up with your mouth. The voice picks up well but can sound distant if the mic is off which I find a lot because how inflexible the mic is. Overall this is a good headset if you find it at a reasonable price range. I would not recommend buying this a full price and wait for any specials / sales.

I just got back into platform and on-the-go gaming. Having purchased a Nintendo Switch for both my kids and I to play with, I wanted a headset so I can play when everyone else is asleep. I took a chance on the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 to see how well this works and also was drawn to the accented colors that match the Switch's colors. This is a really good headset for the price. You have very good quality sound and mic. Set up is very simple as this connects via the wireless dongle and Bluetooth. Connecting it via Bluetooth and dongle means that this can be universally used on Windows devices. At first I was wondering where the mic was and I realized it can be flip for storage or muting. Wearing this has been very good and comfortable. The cushions on the earcups are very soft and I don’t have any fatigue wearing them for long periods of time. The head strap can be adjustable, but it takes some force to unclip it to adjust it either higher or lower. My qualm about that is I had wished it was adjustable without having to remove it first. Sound quality has been very good. I love how crisp it is at varying volumes. I can hear dialogue and music very easily, without any distortions. It could use some better bass, but it still is very easy to listen and play. This does not have any active noise cancellation, but that is fine because I don’t like that feature as I want to be able to hear what is going on around me. The mic quality is also very good and crisp and clear. Battery life is still very good. Turtle Beach is stating 60 hours of battery life. In my real time use, I play about 2 hours a day and it has been dropping about 5% each time I play. It keeps up with the battery of my Switch, so I always keep my charger with me. This will give you a good amount of battery life in your playing. Overall, this is a very good to use. Very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, connects easily to my Switch and computer, and has a good battery life. It also is very nice to have colors that match to my Switch.

I've been using the Turtle Beach 600 on my PlayStation for just over 2 years. I still love them. The way the mic boom works to turn on/off the mic is second nature now. I'm now so used to this functionality, that when I saw the new Turtle Beach 500 for the Nintendo Switch 2, I had to have them. Installation was very easy. Like my 600's they are very softly cushioned and the headband has such a light comfortable feel. They also come with a USB C wireless receiver/transmitter but you can also use Bluetooth. They have great noise cancelling. They are said to have 40 hour of battery life which is slightly less than I get from my 600's after 2 years. They only weigh 8.3 oz. They have 4 built in EQ settings and you can define 5 custom EQ curves. You can quickly switch between the 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth audio sources with the on headphone QuickSwitch button. This allowed me to compare the sound of both and they are so hard to tell apart; Bluetooth has improved so much over the last several years. This headset is perfect for my Switch 2! I proceeded to do some racing with Mario Kart World, and I was so impressed I started smiling (something I try to avoid). I was very happy with the effects I heard (especially with Superhuman hearing enabled and turned up). I then tried Resident Evil Village (a gorgeous game) everything I needed to hear/discern I could picture in my head in different directions. And the flying bullets sounded very realistic (I think) as they 'passed' by... impressive. And I'm still smiling. These are very nice gaming headphones.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Switch 2 edition is a nice update on the Stealth 500. I had an earlier version and this new edition includes a very compact USB-C dongle as well as the classic joy-con colors. One of the things that I love about this headset is that it has basically all the controls necessary as buttons or dials on the headset itself. You can control the headset and mic volume easily, as well as the standard pairing/mode switching and the flip-to-mute capability on the mic. It just makes the Stealth 500 really easy to use with a variety of devices without needing to be concerned about using an app or even the device settings to make changes. It would be nice if all headsets had this, but it is actually pretty rare in my experience even on some high end headsets. Sound quality is good but not particularly notable, both in terms of the mic quality and listening to music or gaming. If you have Turtle Beach Swarm II on a computer, you can enable the Superhuman Hearing mode to enhance footsteps or other specific combat sounds, though I prefer to keep things on a neutral sound profile myself. I think the dongle is probably the best part about the Stealth 500. It's USB-C, you can leave it permanently plugged into the Switch 2, or you can easily swap the dongle to other devices (including an android phone) and not have to worry about pairing the headset to every device. Makes it much easier to use.

The TB Stealth 500 are a Switch 2 themed and branded wireless headset with few bells and whistles. They're perfect for kids because they are lightweight and rugged and easy to clean. And, they're cheap so you won't fret about your kids destroying expensive gaming headsets. There's plastic and pleather and not much else. I was able to connect to the Switch using BT by switching to BT mode (Blue Light) then hitting the recycle button which then turned it Blue/White and Ready to Pair. There's also a USB-C RF dongle you can use to connect directly. My main gripe on TB headsets is the power button is tiny and one of many buttons on the left ear cup. I would've preferred the power button be more conspicuous, a slider, or on the right headset away from the other buttons. These headsets are not noise-cancelling and while they are over the ear, they don't really block out any sound either. Sound quality is good but nothing earth shattering. You can use the Swarm II software to get more functionality out of the headset on the PC but I plan to use them only with the Switch 2. Also it should be noted, these Stealth 500 headsets have insane battery life. I have them on the PC and honestly I charge them up once a month with relatively light usage of 1-2 hours every few days. This is a perfect headset for kids but they are not going to blow anyone used to higher end headsets away, but your kids will love it and will be happy to call them their own.

CONCLUSION:  This is honestly the most comfortable & the best sounding headset I have ever experienced! Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Wireless Gaming Headset earns my highest recommendation.   

My son and I has been rocking these wireless Switch headphones for a week now and I can say they are checking all my boxes. When it comes down to rating these headphones they shine in 2 specific areas. Fit and sound quality. The fit of these headphones is very comfy. The blue elastic band that fit snuggly against your head is very comfortable and its doesnt catch on my hair at all. They are very light weight and can be adjusted to fit larger or smaller heads if needed. I would say that these headphone would fit most adult heads and most kids heads (if adjusted). The mic that folds into one the of earphones is solid too. Its seamlessly synced to my Switch and has been our go-to since initially unboxing. The sound quality is adequate. These are not meant to be pumping bass but they do certainly provide immersive sound when being used with my Switch. The voices come through crystal clean and others are able to hear my with ease as well. All in all these headphones are pretty basic, but when being used for small kids they are built very durably and can easily sync with Bluetooth. The sound is crisp and the mic is responsive.

Nintendo Switch hasn't always been the best when it comes to dealing with voice chat, but that really isn't the reason that you're looking at these, is it? Of course not. You want the privacy of being able to play a game of FF R, or a round of Madden or 2K. Well, from my experience with the Stealth 500, while playing MKW, I'm going to have to say that Turtle Beach is really giving me what I need, at a good price. Turtle Beach is predominantly known for being the budget brand for gaming tech, around the 2000 teens. However, they've been raising eyebrows with the Stealth series, in my opinion. The dongle gives you a quick and easy connection to my Switch 2 and the battery life is pretty adequate, clocking in at around 35hrs , with heavy use and the volume pumped. Speaking of sound. The 40mm drivers cover the ears pretty well, to give me that immersive feel of area awareness. That is, if you have the cranium small enough for them to comfortably wrap these things from ear to ear. The Bluetooth feature, for my phone even sounds really good. The only real world problem that I have with these, has to be size. Much like a lot of the Big N's peripherals, they seem to be catered towards younger gamers. With that issue in mind, I had to take points off, because these won't fit everyone's skulls. I do like them a lot, but that's very important to me. If the band fits, I highly recommend these. If they don't, they won't.

I’ve been using the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 gaming headset for my Nintendo Switch 2 for a couple weeks now. The headset came in simple packaging and nothing fancy, but it looked clean and felt lighter than I expected. At first I thought maybe it was too light, but after wearing it for long sessions, it didn’t feel cheap at all. More like something I could keep on without getting annoyed. The floating headband actually works pretty well. I move around a lot when I play, sometimes sitting straight and sometimes kinda slouched, and it adjusts itself without me messing with anything. It’s not perfect but it’s definitely more comfy than the older headset I had before. The ear cushions are soft and didn’t get sweaty or stiff. I wore it through a long Mario Kart run and didn’t get the usual ear pain. I even forgot I had it on when my daughter asked me to help her in lego worlds, so that’s a good sign. The flip to mute mic is simple and honestly useful. I just push it up when someone in the house needs me. No tiny buttons to hunt for. It’s one of those small things that makes the headset easier to live with. Connection has been steady. QuickSwitch lets me swap between the Switch 2 and my phone without any trouble. I used bluetooth while cooking and didn’t get any cutouts. The low latency wireless on the Switch 2 feels fine too. No weird delay in games. Battery life has been strong. I charged it once over the weekend and didn’t need to plug it in again until midweek. In a house where everything is always fighting for chargers, that helps a lot. Sound quality is good. Not trying to blow your mind or anything, but clear enough that drifting in Mario Kart sound more sharper. Superhuman Hearing works pretty well too, even if I don’t use it all the time. Overall, I recommend it. Its comfortable, easy to use and feels like it was made for regular players who just want something that works without messing with settings all day. I’m actually getting one for my nephew since he’s been wanting a real headset for his Switch 2 on his birthday, and this one feels right for him. If you want a lightweight and reliable headset for the Switch 2, the Stealth 500 is a solid pick.

To be honest, I did not even know Turtle Beach made gaming headsets. I thought they were just for the office or work crowd. That said, I like a lot about what they did with this headset hardware-wise and love the branding and direction they took here. TLDR; it is a solid headset, does everything well, and delivers good value. The look is just about perfect (for Switch branding). You think Switch as soon as you see it. Colors. Vibe. Feel. Beyond that though, I think they just look “good.” The design and build quality are also good. It is not premium level, but they made smart materials choices (for use, comfort, and durability), the headset is solid, sturdy, and feels good in the hand, yet also quite light. I have no concerns that they will hold up over time. Buttons are all located well enough, are responsive, and easy to use. The mic sounds good, is placed well, moves well, and mutes easily. They are also comfortable. Clamping is snug, but not aggressive, the band moves with your head and is easy to adjust, and the cups have good coverage and are cushy in the right way. I did get a little warm here and there after some longer uses, but that is probably a combination of summer and me more than anything. Connectivity is good, with either USB-C dongle or Bluetooth options. They both have their pros and cons, but I had a good experience with both, and you should be fine with either. Quick and easy to connect and rock solid once done. No worries here. Sound quality is good. Not great, but more than good enough for where these are in the space. Everything is covered, and while the low end may be a tick light, I think most people will be pleased with the overall sound. I am, and was easily immersed in each and every world I was in while using them. Battery life has been great for me, about on par with the 40 hour rating, and is not a concern for me. Charging is quick when needed. In the end, I think this is a solid headset and probably perfect for its intended use. It is comfortable, has a battery that lasts, is easy to take on the go, and delivers good sound. I do really think they missed by not including a bag/case/carry option, given the market and use case, but that is my only real dig here. I think for all that you get at the price point, there is real value here and most would be happy. The perfect branding is a nice final add.

I needed a new headset for my Switch 2, and I really wanted a wireless one at that. Enter the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 designed specifically for the Switch 2. This edition of the Stealth 500 is boxed nicely with that Nintendo branding flavor we’ve all come to know and love. It’s packaged well and the materials are very sturdy. Unboxing was a breeze. The headset has a very Switch 2 look and feel. It’s very lightweight, but sturdy, with a design that’s very straightforward. There is very little flexibility in the overall design. The earcups tilt but don’t rotate in any way. The sizing band is in a fixed position, but can be removed and reattached at 3 different lengths. The earcups are soft and pretty standard. With all that said, the headset is comfortable when worn and has been so when worn for extended periods. It also seems to fit as expected. I didn’t have to make a lot of adjustments to get a better fit or feel – that’s always a win. The instructions for set up and connectivity are primitive at best. They look like a series of pictures to decipher in a puzzle solving contest. I can see these causing a slight problem for some, but let me be clear, the Stealth 500 headset isn’t difficult to set up. With that said, this headset can be configured and supported using the Turtle Beach Swarm II app. My initial thought when I saw this was possible overkill. I’m a believer now. This app serves as a portal for firmware updates, sound profiles, volume settings, specialty settings, and custom profiles to be changed. Some things are pretty straightforward – volumes, volume mixing, microphone levels. Then there are preset profiles: Signature, Full, Clarity. You can also create your own EQ profiles, set gate and monitoring volumes, and enable special features like Chat Boost or Superhuman Hearing. Connecting the headset to the app was seamless – great job Turtle Beach. Also, these settings actually work as expected. That brings me to the most important thing about any headset – the sound. The Stealth 500 actually surprised me; it made quite the initial impression. The sound was good, clear, and controlled. Volume wasn’t too loud but was full, with impressive clarity. I could hear things I didn’t when playing listening to the built in Switch 2 speakers. Also, even as a wireless set, this headset out-performs my older wired headset. Tweaking the EQ gives even better sound. Not much else to say about the Stealth 500. It’s an admirable offering from Turtle Beach for Switch 2 users. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and sounds good. The companion app offers continued support, configuration options, and ways to improve your experience. The only thing I would have wanted to be different was to not need a USB dongle for connectivity. Thankfully, the Switch 2 now has a 2nd USB-C port, allowing you to still have a free port for other purposes – charging, docking, cooling systems, etc. If you have a Switch 2 and need a headset, this one deserves a strong look.

Overall, I think the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 is a great option for Nintendo Switch 2 gamers who want a comfortable wireless headset with good sound and the flexibility to use it with mobile devices too. It’s easy to use, comfortable for longer sessions, and the wireless connection makes gaming much more enjoyable. It’s a nice upgrade if you’re still using a basic wired headset or looking for something more versatile.

I picked up the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 for my kid's Nintendo Switch 2 mainly because I was tired of hearing every explosion and cutscene from the backseat during long car rides.
