My son is an Accountant Major and bought him a Laptop for Christmas. Only problem "It didn't have the Num Pad on the side. Then I found this lil' gaget, and he thought it was the coolest thing; a great alternative for any Number Cruncher without a Num Pad! At least my son thinks so. (:

I recently switched to a keyboard with a touch pad and no number section so I was looking for a number pad add on. The first few were over $25 so I kept looking. Found this for around $7. It works great. The perfect addition to the smaller keyboard.

This works very well, although as I just responded to another reviewer, you might need to toggle a BIOS setting in order to have the numlock on the keypad toggle ONLY the external keypad. By default at least on my laptop (a Fujitsu Lifebook), the numlock on the regular keyboard and the numlock on the external keypad both toggle on and off BOTH numeric keypads (this external one plus the "soft" one in the middle of the regular laptop keyboard) at the same time, so toggling on numlock on the keypad also whacked out using the regular keyboard. On my Fujitsu, there is a BIOS setting that you can change that will let numlock work as you'd expect: toggling the BIOS setting "ADVANCED -> KEYBOARD/MOUSE FEATURES -> NUMLOCK: ON/PADLOCK OFF" changed it so the numlock on the external keypad toggled ONLY the external keypad, thus letting me use both the external keypad and the regular keyboard "normally". Once I got that working, the keypad is a joy to use when entering numbers on my laptop.

Keypad is a plug & play device in Windows OS and requires no additional drivers. It works with XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 10. It is not too large so that it is easily packed up your laptop. The keys have just the right amount of travel to them with a good dampened feel.

I bought this for my macbook. I wanted the apple version but could not stomach the price of 50.00. I decided to give this a try,. The price is fantastic and it a pretty good little key pad. My only complaint is the you can back space on it. . if it did I would give it 5 stars!

I am an accountant and use this item for backup when working at client locations who do not have extended keyboards. It allows you to navigate much quicker when making large amounts of numerical entries. Very inexpensive.

The only thing missing from my new laptop was a 10-key keypad - I do a lot of numeric input and calculations. This keypad works great and was very reasonably priced.

After buying my wife a shiny new laptop, I heard those dreaded words, "Its really nice, but...". The "but" was that it did not have a number keypad on the laptop keyboard. I picked this USB number keypad up at the local Best Buy while I was shopping for something else, it was cheap and seemed like a straight forward no nonsense keypad. It was a true plug-n-play USB keypad, no extra drivers and no additional software required. The HP Windows 8.1 OS laptop recognized it immediately and was working in about 2 seconds. Works as expected with no issues or problems to date.

My laptop does not have a 10 key and I do taxes on the side. This was a great little addition and helps me complete my work faster.

This is a pretty straightforward device. It's cheap and does the job. Especially useful if you need to input a lot of data on a laptop that has no keypad.

I bought a numeric keypad from another site and received a piece of junk. The keys stuck so bad that it was not usable. This keypad from BestBuy is very good quality, very easy to use and has a good feel to it. It would be nice to have a backspace key on it for easier corrections, but other than that I would recommend this.

Good addition to laptop to add a numeric keypad. Would be 5 stars if it were wireless. Great price for product!

I bought this keypad because I do some consulting at companies which insist that I use "their" laptop. Typically, these laptops are small loaners without built-in numeric keypads. This one was inexpensive, and fills the bill nicely. It's light weight, so it doesn't add much heft to my computer bag, but heavy enough not to move around on the desk.

I use this with my laptop as I work a lot with numbers. While I have a 10-key with my Bluetooth keyboard, I can't haul that around with me, but the 10-key can travel easily. It also works well for gaming.

My new laptop did not come with a numeric keypad which I felt was important to certain tasks such as tax preparation. This super cheap and portable keypad solves the problem. When not in use I simply keep it stored in a slot of my mail sorter, along with my external CD drive.

My laptop did not have a numeric pad and a Best Buy employee suggested this one. I like the travel on the keys.. the s0acing is comfortable and works well if you are cruching numbers in a hurry. All you do is plug it in and go.. no discs or drive install needed ansd I love that!!

For a light use number pad, for a laptop, this $10 pad is excellent. It works on my Mac and PC and is nice to have when entering numbers in Excel. A more heavy user might want a heavier duty pad but this one is light and decent for light use.
