I bought this to have in my bedroom and I think it’s perfect for just that. It does have to be a bit closer to where you’re projecting if you plan on using it outside and from a distance I wouldn’t recommend. The speakers are great on their own but you can Bluetooth it to other things. There is no lag and I’ve had no issues so far.

Works great, picture adjusts easily. Sound is perfect for our use.

I have a larger projector that I use for pool parties, however I never thought of putting one in the spare bedroom for guests, given that’s the only room without a TV on the wall - let alone using a Roku-driven system … so I was excited to give this one a go! Good: Footprint Projector options App Store Bluetooth capabilities Meh: Brightness Roku OS Fan noise Heat removal Onboard speaker Bad: Streaming throughput capacity Proprietary power adapter Background / History: I used to have Roku on all of the TVs pre-covid, but those were replaced by Google and/or Apple OS devices - whether native or as an add-on and I hadn’t considered Roku in ages as an alternative. Before I got this delivered, I did look it up online - the projector seemed to come with a smaller screen to hang, but not in this case - maybe a Best Buy derivative that doesn’t have it? No biggie, no points taken away from it - as it’s meant to be portable - so how portable can it be if you NEED a screen? Observations: This device has a nice small footprint. During setup, I had it projecting on two different walls and different angles and distances. Wifi acquisition was quick and the first round of software updates hit without issue. In the end, I ended up 3D-printing one of the “power outlet shelves” to hold it off the floor and keep it out of the way, but I do wonder about long usage with the heat dissipation out the back and against the wall (see pic). Display (a few pics): I played with different distances from the wall, across the room and off to the side; the only time I didn’t like the throw, was when it was up close at the wall - the 3 foot minimum distance seems to be a bit low for a nice picture. I was able to adjust the keystone and get a decently squared off display the majority of the time but I noticed that the light throw won’t adjust so there’ll be some light off to the edges even if the keystone adjustments keep the screen elsewhere. A physical dial on the projector helps tune it to a good focus and I did find myself manipulating it each time I put it on a different wall. If you’re projecting on a screen from the rear, there’s a setting for that - and for projecting on the ceiling which I found pretty cool. Outside of the keystone and projection method, there’s distance zoom and brightness options that round out the projector features and combining them to best suit your room and projection area should be enough to give a nice sized projection. Sound: In other Roku devices, Bluetooth speakers were limited to a wired Roku branded soundbar but that’s not the case here. I was able to pair it to a Bose Soundlink Revolve+ II (that I also got from Best Buy) just like I would my phone - so easy. Natively, the on-board speaker isn’t that good but since they allow for external speakers and headphones, I can’t imagine they put much effort into it. Another type of sound related to the projector is the fan noise. While not intrusive, it’s definitely present, though the use of an external speaker definitely lessens the obviousness of the fan noise. Apps: I was able to install every App I needed to and had no issues with the interoperability. I did find that the projector was not good at handing 4K UHD rips using Plex. For example, I ripped my copy of Pulp Fiction and the projector was unable to play more than a few seconds before it needed to stop and buffer (added pic). Picture Quality: Here’s where I can’t really give much of a detailed review as ALL of my walls are textured and projecting against textured walls makes the picture look distorted, when I don’t think it is. When the room was brighter, the picture was more washed out, so this is meant for a darker room. Overall, this projector made a great addition to the house and the guest room; recommended!

I absolutely love this Vankyo Leisure 3R Air Smart Projector with Built-in Roku TV. What a terrific idea for bringing some inexpensive entertainment to the home or on anywhere there is power. This projector was so simple to setup. You will need to have a ROKU account and WiFi to use this projector and you can easily use the app. Simply place the included AAA batteries into the ROKU remote then plug in and turn on the projector. It will lead you step by step through the setup process. Once setup, I began to go through the ROKU screens and explore available settings. One setting you don't want to bypass, is the one for keystone correction settings. I didn't even know what this was, but once I began to make the adjustment (which I did manually, because the auto-correction did nothing I could see), it was just what was needed to bring much more clarity to the projector's cast. Prior to making this adjustment, the screen was showing a view that was smaller at the top and larger at the bottom. Using the keystone correction, I was able to square up the picture and that sharpened the video significantly. There is also a focus ring on the projector that is used for changing focus to your liking. I was also able to change the headphones/speaker settings to add my soundbar via bluetooth, and that gave me amazing sound to go with the incredible picture. Of course, the projector does have its own internal speaker, but while okay, it is not ideal for me. I use the ceiling as my screen and it turned out to be the perfect choice. I added the Netflix app and with that, I am able to see anything from Netflix wherever I take my projector. But there are already many apps ROKU has provided. I don't know if there is a memory limit for adding apps. If you have a subscription, you can stream almost anything. They also include many free streaming apps. And because it is ROKU, they offer their own programming and a bunch of other shows live that you may recognize. Nothing else is needed! Some specifications: The projector can flip 180 degrees so you can set the angle you want for comfy viewing. The picture is nice and bright with150 lumens. With its dual band WiFi, you are able to connect at either 2.4 or 5G, you don't have to separate the bands. With the 5.2 bluetooth, you can very easily connect to speakers, headphones, soundbars, etc. There are also ports at the back of the projector for USB-A and HDMI, making connections easy. They say the "viewable screen size" is 38" to 200". Of course the closer you are, the sharper the image is likely to be. 200" is only a bit over 16 feet. The projector itself is about 7" x 4" and weighs 2.5lbs. Easy to take anywhere. Overall, I find the Vankyo Leisure 3R Air Smart Projector with Built-in Roku TV to be an excellent source for family entertainment. It is great for staying home or wherever we may go. With the built in ROKU TV, it is self-contained. We just turn off the lights and get comfortable - lay on the sofa (if you get dibs), or on the floor - wherever you want, and then start the show! It is so much fun! I would very highly recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive entertainment source. Note: the website does show that an HDMI cable, carrying case and projector screen are included. These items are NOT included, at least not with my projector.

It's amazing how far small LED projectors have come in just a few years. This Vankyo Leisure 3R projector is easy to use, plenty bright, ultra portable, and has a decent built-in speaker. Moreover, with Roku built into the unit, it is a self-contained entertainment machine that can get you set up enjoying video and audio on any flat surface, wall or ceiling! Of course, there are some trade-offs. The video maxes out at 720p resolution. You have to dial in focus manually using a large wheel on the part of the projector that wobbles when you touch it. The cord is only about 5 feet long; not enough to plug into a wall outlet halfway across the room. The Roku system is not super snappy and responsive. The speaker is fine for watching a TV show, but if you want a home theater experience, you're going to need an externally-amplified speaker or audio system. But, for the asking price, this projector is an incredible way to get a portable picture and sound in any dimly-lit room, at any time. It's the perfect projector for a small bedroom, teenage sleepover party, or basement gaming session. And for those who want to power it off grid on a camping trip or just a backyard movie night, it only draws 42 watts at full tilt, meaning you can enjoy it for hours with even a tiny backup battery (as long as your battery has a 110V AC outlet). It also offers a great deal of connectivity and customization. There's an HDMI eARC port, meaning you can connect to a compatible receiver and potentially send the signal of a half dozen devices seamlessly using a single HDMI cable to the projector. If you prefer, you can connect to a Bluetooth speaker or soundbar, adding great sound coming from the direction of the picture. Speaking of sound, the single speaker in the Leisure 3R is more than capable of reproducing dialogue, and offers a few EQ customization options that can increase the audibility of voices or music. When it comers to the picture, there is auto and manual keystoning (I find the manual necessary for all but the flattest vertical surface), and you can set the orientation of the unit to be mounted in front of or behind the screen, on a table or the ceiling. Finally, it can't be overstated how good it is to have Roku built in. As someone who has used a Roku device for more than 15 years, I appreciate the fact that I can log in to my account and easily set up all my apps. The remote provides an extra bit of familiarity and is every but as quality as any that comes with Roku device. I have an earlier Vankyo projector that came with only a few apps and no way to add others, requiring an external source to be really useful, so this is an incredibly welcome turn of events. All-in-all, I'm quite pleased with the Vankyo Leisure 3R, because I appreciate it for what it is: a low-cost way to get a good picture, decent sound, and the familiar Roku experience, in a single unit, anywhere I want it.

As the specification indicates, it is has base resolutions with handy connections for simple use case, connection to single external device with HDMI, USB, and 3.5 MM Audio port. However, it is remarkable the size and its weight and how easy to place in the bug and carry or change different places within home or outdoor. Then the supported screen size 38inch to 200inch. Now, stating it is not much different to the standard steps of other devices. Just plug, and turn on. The first screen is connection to the WifFi, then login with Roku Account. Once logged in, all the rest is as using streaming devices. In term of brightness and clarity, using it against the plain wall and with daylight inside home was ok, good enough for streaming and viewing experience for case of not focusing totally in the image but enough to see. What I wish it were better: 1. Charging Power Cable, use USB-C instead of four pin connection adaptor. 2. This is my first experience with any personal projector, so at first I had some reservations about it. The setup on this device couldn’t be easier. After default menus, connecting to our WiFi, and a software update, I was able to add just about every streaming app we have a subscription with little to minimal effort through QR or app codes. The included remote works well and is extremely responsive to button presses. Getting to the picture quality first, this is incredible for only being 720p. One thing to note is that this does NOT come with a screen or stands, so keep this in mind before purchase. If you keep it at the recommended 6.6 feet for 80”, you should have a clear, colorful picture as we did while watching A Minecraft Movie. The focus wheel is easy to use and isn’t too loose or tight, making picture adjustment easy. Another added benefit with this projector is that you can buy a tripod stand or attach it to any stand that accepts a 1/4”-8mm*1 screw, which is not included. The projector itself has a built-in speaker which sounds really good if that’s what you’d like to use but I prefer to use my Ultimate Ears Boom 3 for movies. Connecting a BlueTooth device is easy as can be and I had no issues connecting it. The remote’s volume buttons work well with adjusting the volume of both the internal and BlueTooth speakers. This device also has an HDMI and USB port, which I didn’t test during the review. I would assume that devices plugged into those ports will work just fine, especially HDMI. USB might vary depending on what you’re trying to plug in and if it’s supported. Primary use for me will be using streaming for watching movies outside. The projector includes a cleaning kit to keep your lense clean and free from dust, dirt, and debris. This is a nice bonus especially if you’re going to do outdoor movie nights at your house. Overall, I’m genuinely surprised by the quality of this projector for its price point. We plan on using this in the future for more movies outside during cooler late Summer/early Fall nights. As long as software updates don’t go away for a long time, I’ll continue to use this device without upgrading anytime soon.

The Vankyo Leisure 3R Air is one of the easiest home theater setups I’ve messed with. Right out of the box, the first thing you notice is how small and lightweight it is. It easily sits on a nightstand or small side table without taking over the room or feeling like a giant piece of clunky tech. I actually had mine on a clothes hamper just because it was the only thing near me but it worked! Setup took maybe five minutes. Because it has Roku TV built directly into it, you don’t have to deal with plugging in extra streaming sticks, running extra power cables, or juggling multiple remotes. Once it’s connected to Wi-Fi, you’re straight into your usual apps. I did find it weird that you have to put a payment information for Roku TV. I ended up shooting the image straight onto my plain bedroom wall. When I placed it closer, it gave a solid, sharp display, but moving the projector farther back really opened it up. The throw scaled up effortlessly, filling almost the entire wall from edge to edge between my dresser and the door frame while clearing the light switches below. What impressed me most was the picture quality on a bare wall in a dark room. Brighter scenes look punchy and clean, with crisp text and good color balance. But even when throwing on moody, dark, blue-lit scenes, it holds up way better than you'd expect for a budget projector. Instead of everything turning into a muddy black blob, you can still clearly pick out textures in jackets and rocky backgrounds. If you're looking for a simple, clutter free way to turn your bedroom into a mini theater without dropping hundreds of dollars, this little projector punches way above its price tag.

I would give the Vankyo 6 stars if possible. I am absolutely in love with this projector. I see this product as a mainly entertainment device with some work possibilities. Let's start by talking about it's size. It is about the size of a large energy drink but very light in the hands. In the back there is 3 connection ports, power, usb-a and hdmi. This means you can connect a gaming system, usb media stick or a computer to it and use it as a projector for any type of presentation. Keep in mind that this being a smaller unit with not the best lamp, it would not be ideal for a presentation for a large group. But in a smaller space which isn't super bright, it would do just fine. You are not going to get the sharpest image but for a projector this size, imo, it does an incredible job. I can watch movies and play games without any difficulty. Set up is like any Roku device, easy. As since there really isn't too many ports or buttons, operation is really easy to understand. The internal speaker was also a lot better than I expected. I think any normal room at normal level, it sounds perfectly fine. It can get raspy if volume gets too loud. Now don't expect stereo sounds but if that's what you want, the unit has bluetooth capabilities you can add a speaker to. The only gripe I have is not even gripes. The fan is a little loud but, really, that is to be expected. But the 1 thing I really wish Vankyo would change is maybe use a usb-c as a power source because the included power cable is way too short for me. I can see using this projector in so many different locations and with it's size and weight, you can just throw it in a bag and take it with you. Long road trips, camping, bedrooms or even hotel rooms. And at this price, it's really is a no brainer.

I got the Vankyo - Leisure 3R Air Smart Projector with Built-in Roku TV – White primarily for outdoor use. It seemed like it would be nice and portable due to its compact size. The unit has to be plugged into an electrical outlet to have power. The power cord is not very long (4’ 9 “) so if you want to use it outdoors, you will likely need to have an extension cord at the ready. Having a power cord is the case for most projectors though. Battery operated projectors are at least 2x the cost as well. For the best picture, you will need to invest in a projector screen and the darker the room, the better. I did test it on a beige wall to see the difference, and it was way better on the projector screen. The sound output is decent. Projectors in general have a limit to their volume since it would vibrate the picture too much if it was blasting. The Vankyo Leisure 3R can be connected to a Bluetooth speaker, so louder volume is not an issue. The built-in volume is fine, but if you're not very close to the projector I worry I would not hear it very well outside. If the lens gets dusty, lens cleaning supplies are provided in the box as well. Set up requires Wi-Fi connection, Roku login, and additional streaming services login if you have those accounts. My Amazon Prime and Disney+ connection went very quickly. Netflix did not connect from the QR code, so I had to sign in with my email and password. It was all fairly quick and simple. The picture is great and crisp and it gives a movie theater experience. My Bluetooth speaker has great bass, so I was completely engrossed in the movie I was watching.

I wanted this to create ambiance in my room and to add scenes to our holiday and Halloween front yard set up by projecting imagines on the garage or windows. To be direct, I wasn’t expecting much from this little guy but it really delivers on its claims. The projected imagine is brighter than I thought it was going to be. Note: if the room is really bright thought it will wash out but a dim to darker room the imagine is really impressive for the size of the protector. I love how easy set up was and the functionality it’s simple. It has a nice easy slide wheel to focus the image. The build in apps make it really easy to get up and going. I use the YouTube app to play long ambient video. My spouse wanted a medieval castle window on our window shade (see pics) and I wanted to look out my window and watch a gorgeous beach scene with the waves crashing on a beach as we fell asleep and Vankyo delivered! The remote was easy to use and also very functional. I also really love the size and portability and tilting head of the the projector. Anywhere you want a screen or to project a video….boom you have it. We will use this for camping, back yard tv night on the deck or just fun video ambience where ever we want! This would also be great for kids play rooms. Just a fun, high quality, versatile entertainment device! I really love it!

This mini smart air projector is getting some miles since unboxing. My son (10 years old) has been using this is his bedroom and is really enjoying it. I have used other projectors in the past but this once is a tad different from what I'm familiar with. Firstly - Roku built in which is pretty cool. No need to add a streaming stick or anything in addition. This projector does how one HDMI input which can be used with consoles or other A/V devices. The clarity for this projector is decent, not 8k or anything like that by any means but for my son its perfect. The design of this is a but wishy washy in my opinion. The base is not very heavy so its easily tips over which is annoying, but then again this is for a kids room so some wear and tear is expected. It can be used with all of the air-cast apps too which is pretty nice. The sound on this is nothing to write home about either. Outside of the basic functionality it comes with a power cable, remote, batteries and some cleaning swabs for the screen. I don't expect this to have a long lifespan as its not designed to be top tier by any means. But, its good for what its being used for, and thats a kids room. All in all if you are looking for a very easy to use entry level (or lower) projector then I would recommend this one. It comes stock with Roku and does a pretty decent job projecting.

This Roku projector is small, yet pretty impressive. It comes with a remote control (batteries included), a quick start guide, detachable power cord and cleaning cloth/q-tips. Setting it up is super easy as it is self contained. Just rotate the camera head 45°. This will work either ceiling mounted or tabletop mounted. Your choice to use the internal fairly loud speaker or connect your own via Bluetooth. Turn on the small power button that is just above the power cord and step through all the usual stuff, note that you will need to also set up Roku. There are two ports on the back, one an HDMI the other a USB, which I think to be impressive. The focus adjustment is on top via a wheel and keystone corrections are done in settings. Finally I was just messing around with it in the basement. I have it going onto a dark knotty pine wall, at a distance of aprx 20’ the wall length is 15’. It filled it completely (see pics) but ignore the renovation mess please. This is a nice option to have as portable entertainment or as your main home theater!

It is not very loud and will not blow you away, but it works well in a pinch for decent sound in a quiet environment. • Included Roku TV remote: Comes with a Roku TV remote, adding convenience for basic playback and navigation during casual use. • Price: It’s cheap, and that’s honestly one of the biggest reasons to consider it if you just want to try out a projector without spending much. Final Verdict The VANKYO Leisure 3 is best viewed as a starter projector for casual viewing, such as kids’ indoor movie nights, simple slideshows, or occasional use in a dark room. If you need a primary projector for movies or gaming, this model will likely disappoint because of its limited brightness, contrast, and resolution.

I really like this projector. It didnt take up spaces. Very Iight to move around and i received it on time. It is so clear when i watched all my movies.

We have had a few projectors, but nothing like this! First, it went up in 5 minutes (we did have the stuff from our last one..shelf, to drop the projector past the ceiling fan) Second: You can ACTUALLY change the size and shape of the screen, without losing focus! Total salespoint for us, as screens can vary greatly in size. We can grab this, stick it on the putside table and watch on the house! (At night, obvi).

Very impressed with this. The ease of set up and convenience. Purchased for fun outdoor movie nights and wanted something easy to travel with. This is so flexible and travel friendly. Quality of picture is better than expected even at dusk. Four stars only for speaker quality. We used Bluetooth to connect a speaker so not a big deal but for movie watching wouldn’t rely on the speakers included. Overall though very pleased!

Definitely a bang for your buck projector. We've used it inside and outside with zero issues at all. The picture is crisp at a reasonable distance and easily connected to our soundbar and outdoor speakers.
