I bought this for my daughter, and she has already made hundreds of 1" pins. She was a little disappointed at how small these pins were, but soon found that they would work for so many different options. Again, she went through the old magazines we had and evaluated the size of the picture she was interested in using. If it was too small for the 3" pin, she would position the 1" circle cutter to get the best portion. Then, (with a piece of cardboard behind the page) she would cut out the pictures. She also found a template for these, so she could create her own designs. And again, when this says 500 pieces, it really means 500 pins. It includes enough materials so you can make 500 1" pins. The smaller circle cutter was a lot easier to use.
