I’ve been using the A229 from Viofo for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the best dash cams I’ve owned. The video quality is impressively sharp, both during the day and at night. License plates are readable in most situations. Installation was straightforward, and the camera itself feels solid and well-built. The interface is simple enough that you don’t have to dig through a complicated manual just to change basic settings. The dual-channel recording is a big plus, capturing both front and rear footage clearly. Files are easy to access through the app, and overall performance has been stable with no random shutdowns or corrupted clips so far.

This is my first dash cam for my brand new car. I really loved it. They way it works capturing the recording and photos awesome. I highly recommend this to everyone who is looking for perfect dash cam with reasonable price.

The mount for my front camera doesn’t stay on the windshield most likely due to the heat, I have to find a different type of mount for it. The qualities pretty good and the setup was easy. Another problem I found was trying to hide the cables. It was incredibly difficult to put them in a way that wouldn’t look like an eyesore. The app could use work but still user friendly. Also, make sure to be prepared to need an SD card with it. I had to spend another $100. Also the voice controls are pretty useless in my opinion.

Easy to setup, works like a charm, and has great quality. Wish the back camera had a bit better dynamic range, but it is what it is.

The dash cam is great, video is sharp and clear. Two channel so it records front and back at the same time. Only complaint I have so far is the app that supports it. Its currently rated 2 stars on the iOS App Store and I see why. It’s slow and difficult to connect every time I’ve tried. It’s even worse if you have wireless CarPlay as the WiFi fights with the CarPlay.

Dashcam provides clear video and has an easy interface with my smart phone that makes changing settings and retrieving video very easy.

Has amazing video quality, make sure you know it doesn’t come with sd card.

used product in my 00’ Porsche 911, Installation was simple and easy. Quality is good easy to read plates and signs. Good dash cam, zero problems since purchasing over a few months ago.

The VIOFO A229 dashcam is excellent. I received it brand new and was impressed with the overall quality. Installation was easy, especially since it came with clear instructions. One thing to note is that it does not include a microSD card, so you’ll need to purchase one separately. Once installed, the video quality is crisp and clear from both the front and rear cameras. So far, it has worked flawlessly and has had no issues sitting in the sun, even with the hot Florida climate. Overall, I’m very happy with this dashcam and would definitely recommend it.

The dash cam was safely packaged and delivered quickly. We hired someone with experience to install the camera to get a nice finished look, and to make sure it was wired correctly. It looks great, and the dashcam works as it should. The videos are easy to review on our phone, and also to download to our computer with the chip adapter. The clarity of the images is why we selected Viofo and we are very pleased with the results.

I had this unit professionally installed by Best Buy, and the installer did a good job, including configuring the standard settings. I was able to install the app on my iPhone; however, I am unable to change the settings as intended. I attempted to pair the unit using the vehicle’s Wi-Fi, but this did not work. The unit powers on and appears to function properly, but I cannot adjust the settings through the app while I am in the vehicle. I have contacted Viofo support and am currently waiting for their response. If necessary, I may return to Best Buy to have them review the installation. This system should not be this difficult to use, and I hope I will not be charged any additional fees if I need to bring it back in.

It was a simple setup, but i recommend getting the hardwire kit bc the wired get in the way. So far itbhas withstood the 100F+ summer temps.

This was my first dashcam that I've bought and I had the mentality that it would be difficult to deal with the settings. However it is very straight forward and easy to learn. Great quality and beginner friendly

Installation was good, price good. Was a little nervous at first because it seems it was not working. Had to do a troubleshooting visit back to BEST BUY. They were great! it turned out it was in sleeper mode but was working all of the time. Very please with the product.

Upgrading from a Viofo A119 V3 that served me well for 7 years. Upgrading to get the new STARVIS 2 sensor. Viofo makes excellent quality and reliable dash cams. Make sure to pair with a high endurance memory card.

Best bang for the buck. People want 4k with clarity, night-vison, and ability to see license plate. This is as close as you can get without have to spend a ton of money.
