The video quality is excellent, and to VIOFO's credit, their customer service was responsive and tried hard to help. They sent replacement front and rear cameras, a new rear cable, multiple firmware versions, and spent considerable time troubleshooting with me. Unfortunately, the camera still has an intermittent startup issue where the rear camera fails to initialize properly, disconnects, and then reconnects. I've tested different power sources, firmware versions, cables, camera units, and configurations, and the problem persists. The behavior also changes depending on firmware version, which makes me suspect a software or compatibility issue rather than a simple hardware failure. What's most frustrating is that the issue comes and goes. Sometimes the camera works perfectly for weeks, making you think it's fixed, only for the problem to return. While the camera eventually records both channels, I don't have confidence that it's operating as reliably as it should. I appreciate VIOFO's efforts to support the product, but after months of troubleshooting and replacement hardware, I expected a more definitive resolution. For the price, I expected a more polished and dependable experience.
