A: Hi Prince, There are two switches on the front of the unit to control the heat and flames. They are always accessible and you should not get burned while operating either. The vent on the front does get hot, because it is blowing out hot air, but this should not affect your ability to use the switches. This is a simple plug-in unit, so it does need to be near an outlet. We hope this helps in making your decision!
A: Hi Maria, As far the heat itself, there is only on and off. However you can control the heat and flames separately. So if you'd like to have the flames on, and turn the heat off, you can do so. Hope that helps!
A: Hello! This stand does not come with a remote. The shelves are adjustable, and the BTU is 4400. There are two different options for the fireplace insert: an option for just the flames, and another option for both the flames and heat. Yes, the flame lights are LED.
Q: do the fireplace change color
A: Hi Kim, The fire simulates a real fire, so it appears to be flickering. But other than red and orange it does not change. Let us know if you have any other questions!

A: Hi Neena, The fireplace insert that comes with this TV stand is what should be used as it's been tested specifically for it. If a different insert is used, it will void the warranty.
